Chapter 128
Tribe Fire
Diego in prison
After hearing the loud bell alerting the guards, the Alpha stormed out leaving Cateline in her room while they were having dinner; he knew it was those cursed ICES. Cristina and the guard Fredy stayed with the human.
He felt immense anger seeing those mongrels dare to invade his castle. Everything worsened when he heard the enemy Alpha howling; it was an invitation to a fight, which made Diego's blood boil. He wouldn't allow that dog to do such a thing in his home.
Diego ran towards the prison, and as he advanced, he noticed the blood and the noise of the battles happening there.
"How did these monsters get in here?!"
The Alpha yelled furiously. There was no way the enemies could have entered. Was there another traitor in his castle? But who?
Diego couldn't think straight; all he wanted was to kill all those wretches. They had entered his home and were now attacking him. He would get revenge; things wouldn't stay that way.
Felix was still in Aftermoon; he had taken some of the most experienced wolves, those who had fought with Diego in the past. He needed them; it would be a difficult battle as the invaders had the upper hand.
When Diego reached the prison, he saw his guards fighting fiercely against some ICE tribe invaders. What did those accursed ones want there?
He shouted to some of his soldiers.
"Check if the soldiers need help at the gates. Some of you go there, and the rest stay with me."
Diego had ordered some soldiers to stay near the gates to prevent the ICEs from escaping. Thus, they would protect the exit and eliminate the enemies. A good number of the soldiers were with Cate; she needed a lot of protection now as the human carried the future Alpha of the kingdom.
Diego spat out the words to them, giving the command. The soldiers turned around, startled to see the Alpha; they sighed in relief. Finally, help had arrived.
"Sir… there are many… you won't be able to manage without some of us guarding the gates…"
One of the men questioned the Wolf, and he turned almost transforming, snarling at him.
"It's an order! Move it, soldier! Do not dare disobey your Alpha."
Without saying anything more, the men returned, nodding to the Alpha; they had to respect Diego's orders.
Some men from the ICE tribe had been captured and imprisoned. Did the enemy Alpha come to free them?
"Damn it!"
Diego shouted, already heading towards one of the enemy wolves. He used his huge claws and attacked the man's throat directly.
Even hitting him, the wolf remained standing, holding the wound tightly, staunching the blood. It was a battle between wolves; both had regeneration in their bodies.
"Damn Felix!"
Diego murmured. His son had gone to fight a human war and left his people there. Now the wolf needed to protect everyone alone; there was still his daughter-in-law and grandson to worry about.
The fight continued; the enemy advanced against Diego, howling loudly. He was halfway transformed, throwing his heavy body against the Alpha, causing him to fall to the ground. As he felt the hard ground hurting his back and the other on top of him, Diego growled at him, feeling the enemy's blood dripping on his face.
The enemy scratched Diego's arms angrily, and as he was about to strike the final blow, Diego thrust his claws into the chest of the werewolf, who writhed backward and fell lifeless. Diego stood up, feeling a bit exhausted; the cuts from the enemy's claws stung his arm, but he knew he would be healed by the next day.
The Alpha sighed for a moment, regaining his strength, and shouted as he went for the next enemy; he wouldn't let them leave there alive...
His eyes were pure blood, filled with hatred toward the ICEs. After fighting several enemies, the Alpha undergoes his complete transformation. His size reached two meters; he was enormous, hairy, and ferocious. His claws were twice the size of any other wolf there. His eyes were blood-red, and his shiny black fur, was long-haired with sharp, pointed teeth. The wolf was now in his complete transformation, in his true essence. He chased his enemies, biting their throats, tearing their heads off, and throwing them aside. Blood dripped from his mouth as he roared l,udly, moving on to the next target. The Alpha took some hits, sporting cuts and bites across his body, but he continued to attack them all, using his teeth and claws...
Spotting an enemy almost killing one of his own, the Alpha ran with abnormal speed, feeling the cold wind upon himself. He leaped high and upon landing, took the enemy down with him. He bit the man's arm, tearing it off. As the enemy screamed in pain, the Alpha used his powerful paw to crush the man's skull, killing him instantly.
The Alpha howled loudly, and the entire Fire tribe howled with him, fighting with glory... they would protect their kingdom to the end. After a while of fighting, the Alpha felt tired and breathless, looking around. Everyone fought; it was a true bloodbath amidst the white snow. Many of his guards had died, as had some from the ICE Tribe, but why would they do such a thing? What could be so important for them to invade at a time like this?
It had been exhaustive hours of fighting; the last enemy fell at dawn when almost nothing remained. Diego was completely exhausted, with permitting themnumerous wounds covering his body, barely able to stand, despite his strong and resistant physique. The night had been tough.
As everything ended, the man staggered through the prison corridor. The cursed ones had released all the prisoners. He checked cell by cell and found that even Amanda had disappeared from there. The traitor had taken advantage of the fighting to escape. The filthy Alpha of the ICEs had left; they had won that battle for now. Diego clenched his fist with hatred and returned inside the castle.
On the way, he saw several allies wounded and dead. What had happened there? Had someone told the ICEs about Felix's escape? Those cursed ones knew when to strike.
Despite everything being in disarray, he knew they would recover. The most important thing now was to see how his grandson was doing. He didn't care about his injuries or fatigue; only the baby mattered.
He staggered up the stairs, realizing the enemies hadn't reached there. Their focus was on the prison, but he needed to ensure nothing happened to Cateline.
The soldiers he had ordered to guard Cateline's room were there, in front of the door, startled to see how beaten the Alpha was.
"Sir?!"
One of them asked, alarmed. But Diego was in no mood; he said nothing, only raising his hand, giving them permission to rest.
They opened the door to the human's room, and the Alpha entered.
Inside were Cristina, the guard Diego had assigned to Cateline and Thedeu. They were around the human's bed, who was unconscious.
