Chapter 40 When She Is In Danger

Chapter 40 When She Is In Danger
NEIL'S POV

I stand calmly on the terrace, looking out over the city spread before me tall buildings, moving cars, a skyline glowing with lights. Life continues at its usual pace below, but inside me there’s a strange, restless unease. I take a deep breath of the cold air, as if trying to steady myself.

Suddenly, the phone in my pocket vibrates.

I pull it out and read the message.

And in that single moment… my face hardens. The softness vanishes from my eyes. My jaw clenches tight. Anger and fear rise together in my gaze.

I shout loudly, “Guards!!”

My voice echoes across the terrace. Within seconds, my entire personal security team comes running toward me. They stand straight in front of me, but the fire in my eyes makes their breaths hitch.

Without wasting a second, I roar, “Where are Kiara and Ria?!”

One guard answers nervously, “Sir… ma’am went out for shopping. But after that… after that, we lost all contact with them.”

The moment he says that, something inside my chest feels like it shatters. I step forward in rage. Just then, another bodyguard hurriedly speaks up, “Sir, I checked the area’s CCTV footage… and… and it clearly shows that ma’am was kidnapped.”

The word kidnapped ignites my blood.

I shout at the top of my lungs, “What do I pay you all a salary for?! Why didn’t you go with her?! Why did you let her go alone?!”

My voice is so loud that sweat breaks out on the guards’ faces. One of them gathers the courage to step forward and says, “Sir… we tried to stop ma’am, but she refused to listen.”

That’s it… my patience snaps.

Pointing a finger at him, I snarl, “Track her location right now! If there’s even a second’s delay, I’ll shoot you right here!”

The madness in my eyes makes it clear to everyone that I’m not joking.

The moment my order leaves my mouth, all the bodyguards scatter in different directions. Someone pulls out a laptop, someone starts making calls, someone activates the tracking systems.

Burning with anger and anxiety, I can’t stay on the terrace any longer. I stride toward the lift. As soon as I step inside, my hands curl into tight fists. My mind is filled with only one face Kiara’s and then Ria’s.

The lift doors open.

I head straight into the garden area. Cold air brushes past me, but my body feels like it’s on fire. I activate my advanced watch. Multiple live CCTV feeds light up on the screen at once roads, traffic signals, shops, street corners… every possible angle.

I study each footage closely, like a predator out on a hunt, my eyes unblinking, focused on only one thing.

Suddenly, a bodyguard rushes toward me, almost running, a laptop clutched tightly in his hands. His breath is uneven, his face tense with panic. He stops right in front of me and, between broken breaths, says, “Sir… sir… I’ve found them.”

The moment those words leave his mouth, my heart starts pounding violently. I don’t waste a single second.

I stride toward him quickly. Rage and determination are clearly visible on my face. He immediately turns the laptop toward me, holding the screen right in front of my eyes.

The second I look at the screen… I freeze.

The location is clear.

Walfarea.

As soon as I read the name of that place, the expression in my eyes changes completely. My gaze hardens, as if a single decision has been carved into it.

Walfarea the place known for illegal activities, a place from where coming back alive is considered nearly impossible. In that moment, I understand this is not an ordinary kidnapping. This is a carefully planned trap.

My jaw tightens. I take a deep breath, but even my breath is filled with anger. Kiara’s face flashes through my mind… followed immediately by Ria’s. The blood in my veins begins to race faster.

I slowly straighten up. My voice turns deep, firm, and terrifying as I give the order, “Get all the weapons.”

There is such steel in my voice that, for a moment, even the air seems to freeze. The instant my words fall, all the bodyguards snap into action.

Fear shows on some faces, raw aggression on others. Without asking a single question, they start pulling out their weapons guns are loaded, magazines checked, earpieces adjusted.

Within moments, we reach the very heart of the jungle, the place where Kiara’s last tracked location is showing.

As soon as the vehicle comes to a halt, I step out slowly. The jungle feels completely different dense, deep, and terrifying. Towering trees stretch toward the sky, their branches brushing against each other, creating sounds as if someone is whispering in secret.

Evening slowly melts into night. Darkness thickens across the sky. The air is cold and damp. An eerie silence spreads everywhere. Somewhere far away, the cry of an animal echoes, and then everything falls silent again.

My footsteps crunch over dry leaves and loose soil, creating a faint rustling sound. I move my eyes in every direction, observing everything carefully. This doesn’t feel like just a jungle… it feels like a trap once you step inside, getting out won’t be easy.

Then my gaze falls to the ground.

I stop.

There are marks etched into the soil.

Wolf signs.

My eyes harden further. I immediately realize that this place is not just deserted, but dangerous.

Without uttering a single word, I raise my hand and signal the bodyguards. My eyes alone are enough they understand instantly.

The bodyguards begin to move silently some to the left, some to the right, some toward the back. Gradually, the entire area is surrounded from all sides. No noise. No unnecessary movement. Just trained men with focused eyes.

I take a deep breath.

There is no turning back now.

I tighten my grip around my gun and slowly start moving deeper into the jungle, placing every step with caution.

TO BE COUNTINUE...!!!

Will I be able to save her ?
