Chapter 84 CHAPTER EIGHTY FOUR

Chapter 84 CHAPTER EIGHTY FOUR
EMILY’S POV

I panted hard, my feet hit the ground, sending sharp pain through my legs when I stepped down on the edges of rocks and sticks. Roman ran ahead, barefooted as well, but not slowing down, i didn’t think he felt the pain I did.

I pushed myself to run faster, I kept pushing until finally, i was running through the forest at a speed uncommon for werewolves.

Roman seemed to notice, and he ran faster, but quickly I overshadowed him, laughing as I swerved through the forest, the cold wind wiping at my face and hair.

I jumped high, landing on the branches of a tall tree, resting my back against it as I tried to catch my breath.

From here, I focused my hearing, and eyes. The darkness was a bit overshadowed by the reflection of the full moon around us, but it was like I could smell, hear and see better.

I smiled as I located where four of my opponents were, and with lighting speed, I ran towards the first one, he didn’t see me coming, and before he could react, he was flying through the air, his back hitting the thick bark of tree behind him.

Same with the second, and third. “Too easy,” i mutter, smirking in victory.

The last, wasn’t as oblivious. He sensed me immediately I came close, dodging my attack at the last minute.

He tried to punch me, and I dodged swiftly to the right, reaching out to grab his extended hand. I swung him viciously to the side, using my legs to tighten around his neck.

That position was still complex for me, and he knew it, because next thing I was on my back.

I grimaced at the force of my back hitting solid ground, still I held onto his hand, using it to push myself upright.

And without warning, I kicked his feet from under him. He landed on his face, and before he could recover I was pinning him down, my knees pressing hard into his back.

“Surrender…,” I growl out, panting with the force it took to keep him down.

Before I could finish him off, Roman jumped on my back. I lept sharply to my feet, before swinging around like a maniac.

Roman let out a light chuckle, making me smirk. I jumped on his shoulders, twisting my body as I fell, bringing him down with me.

“Surrender..,” I growled out, my hands gripping his head viciously.

“I surrender,” Roman says from under me, not even hiding his amusement. I knew he could easily maneuver his way from under me if he wanted or took this training seriously.

I huffed out loudly, letting go of his head, before slumping down in exhaustion.

“Wow…, that is beyond unbelievable,” Roman says softly, his strong hands circling my waist from behind as we lay on the dirty forest floor.

“I know right,” I panted out,” and I haven’t even changed to my wolf.”

We were currently training, and one thing I realized was as much as I was fast in my wolf form, I was faster in my human body.

“Ok.., gather round everyone.” Anthony called loudly, signaling for us to come closer.

“Not bad…,”most of the rogue wolves I was training with called out as me and Roman came into the clearing.

“Thanks…,” I told them, unable to contain my smile.

“You did well Emily,” Anthony says, “but…, you need to also be able to fight this well in your wolf form. I see you have a problem trusting your wolf, and that leaves you susceptible to attacks and bad judgment.”

“Tomorrow, I want you to spend time in your wolf body throughout. I realize that with everything going on, you have never really been alone with your wolf. Get to know your wolf, learn her fighting style weakness and any other traits. Is that clear?”

I nodded my head at Anthony, understanding where he was coming from.

“Alright,”  Anthony called out, turning towards his people. “You all did well today, tomorrow training continues. Now go freshen up, it smells like a rotten pig over here.”

Everyone let out loud laughter at that, before running back to the cave.

“You good?” Roman asked as we walked back to the cave.

“Yea, very good.” I say, turning to face him.

“You know, about what Anthony said, I also have a request.”

“What’s that?” I asked him.

“I would like to also get a day with Chaira, I never told you this, but I have seen and spoken with Chaira before, infant I think my first kiss was from Chaira.”

“What?” I screeched out, laughing at the expression on Romans face. “You can’t be serious, when, how…?”

“It’s a long story.” Roman told me, laughing. “But it was just for a while. No more than thirty minutes. Now, i would like to properly meet her, and also get to know her.”

I didn’t say anything, just walked through the forest, liking the way the moonlight reflected on the trees.

“It’s fine too,” Roman says quickly, misinterpreting my silence for anger or something else. “I know you are still getting used to your wolf, and if you don’t feel comfortable with that, I also understand. It’s just my wolf would really like to meet her.”

“It’s not that,” I whispered out, the sadness in
my tone, echoing through the forest. “I just never thought of how Chaira felt, and I am starting to realize that I ignore her needs a lot. But at the same time, I have been alone for a long time, I am going to need to have to remind myself that I am not anymore.”

“I understand,” Roman says softly. “Everyone does, and I know Chaira also understands. Tomorrow like Anthony suggested, you talk to her, get to know her.”

“It’s going to be fine ok…?” Roman tells me softly, linking his hands with mine.

I smiled at him, before grinning.

“Let’s see who runs faster.” I whisper, before dashing off, not even giving him enough time.

“Hey…., that’s cheating,” Roman yelled out, his thick voice echoing through the forest as he chased me.

I laughed as I ran, the moonlight following my feet. Cold soothing air blowing through my body, and honestly, this moment, I couldn’t describe the peace that came with it.

If only I had looked a lot into my right, to the darkness of the forest, i could have seen the black wolf blending into the darkness, it’s sharp evil eyes watching us.
