Chapter 63 Sixty four
ROMAN’S POV
“Sh!!!!!!” Roman urgently whispers out, dragging Richie back as two men step out from the opposite direction.
“What’s going on?” Richie whispered, glancing at Roman wide eyed.
“I don’t know.” They waited with baited breath, till the men passed them by, climbing up the open shaft, before coming out from where they were hiding.
Any reasonable person should have turned back immediately.
It was obvious something else was at play here, and neither Roman or Richie was prepared for it.
“Oh man,” Richie muttered, his hand’s running through his hair. “I don’t think any party is going on here.”
“Yea,” Roman muttered, “we should leave,” he says.
He wouldn’t want to drag Richie into whatever this was.
“What!! No way,” Richie exclaimed, his eyes had that mischievous glint in it.
“We need to find out what’s going on. I can’t go back now, not after coming this far.”
Roman glanced around nervously, contemplating what Richie just said.
Richie didn’t know what was really going on, so he wasn’t aware of the danger they were currently in.
Meanwhile, Roman would also like to investigate more.
From the text message, it sounded like something serious was going down, and Roman needed all the information he could get.
“Alright,” he agreed, “but no rushing, and at the first sign of danger, we leave.”
Richie spotted a wide grin immediately, before nodding his head in agreement.
Together, they creeped down the corridor, trying to trace where the scream had come from.
Another scream made them pause, sharing a look between themselves, before following the sound.
They got to another part of the cave, leading to an open space.
Brandon, was crouched down over a badly beaten up man.
From where he was currently hiding, Roman couldn’t tell who the man was, but he could see at least three other guys in the room.
“Tell me where she is,” Brandon roared out, slamming his fits into the beaten up man’s face.
“Dammm!” Richie whispers out beside him, almost bouncing his feet.
“Shhh!” Roman shushed him, before bringing out his phone to record what was going on.
This right here was what he needed. From what he had gathered so far, Brandon was looking for a woman.
“I don’t know,” the broken man whimpered out, tears pouring down his face.
Brandon stood up, shaking his head, before slamming his leg repeatedly on the man's head.
Looks really could be deceiving Roman thought.
Merely looking at Brandon, one would not be able to tell how menacing he could be, but watching him slam his foot repeatedly into the man's skull” with no remorse, it was obvious how evil he was.
Shiiit!! Richie exclaimed loudly, before slapping his hands over his mouth.
They both dunked down immediately, holding their breath.
“Who is there?” one of the guys shouted out.
Without saying anything, Roman signaled to Richie, before quietly crawling out of there.
“Shut up you moron,” Brandon growled out, “go check it out,” he says.
Immediately Roman had that, he crawled faster, he wasn’t about to get caught.
He had seen Brandon fight, and has just witnessed how far the guy was willing to go. No way was he going to win, if it came to fighting for his life.
Before they could crawl to the other corner leading to where the shaft was, two guys blocked their part, their hands folded over their chest as they stared at them.
“Get up,” one of them commanded, staring down at both Roman and Richie who were still stuck in their crawling position.
“Look man,” Richie says with a nervous chuckle, as the stood up from the floor. “We came here for the party, didn’t mean to interrupt you or anything of that sort.”
Uh! Uh! The brown haired guy covered in tattoos chipped out, his face set in a hard scowl.
“Where is the party?” He asked, looking around.
“That’s the thing,” Richie says, letting out a loud laugh. “My friend here probably got the location wrong, but it’s fine, we where about leaving anyways.”
Before he could say anything else, the brown guy gave him a hard punch, knocking Richie down.
Roman gasped, moving back a bit, before helping Richie who was covering his bleeding nose up.
The both guys dragged the both of them through the cave, back towards where Brandon was waiting.
“Caught these two guys sneaking around,” the dark haired guy says, throwing Roman to the floor.
The other guy threw Richie to the floor as well, before going closer to Brandon.
He whispered something to him, before leaving with the other guy.
“I know you,” Brandon says, pointing his cigarette towards Roman.
“What are you doing here?” he asked calmly, looking through his phone.
Ok, Roman thought, he wasn’t trying to kill them immediately, if he played his part well, him and Richie could leave here in one piece.
“Funny story actually,” Roman says, chuckling a bit to lessen the scary tension.
“Some of the guys wanted to throw a quiet party before the tournament tomorrow, I guess I got the location wrong or something.”
“We where about leaving, before your friends stopped us.”
Brandon didn’t say anything, he just nodded his head when Roman was finished, dragging his cigarette deeply as he stared intensely at him.
Roman swallowed nervously, trying not to look at the dead man beside him.
Brain matter with thick blood were scattered about.
There was no way out, they had seen something they shouldn’t have.
“A party huh!,” Brandon says, laughing slightly.
He walked closer to Roman, before crouching down so they were on equal eye level.
“Call your friends,” he told him, blowing his smoke into Roman’s face.
“W-what?” Roman stammered out.
“I said call your friends.” Brandon gritted out, every trace of the earlier calmness in his tone gone. “You said you probably got the location wrong right, so call them.”
“Oh! Ok,” Roman brought out his phone from his pocket, before dialing Mr Castor.
“Put it on speaker,” Brandon commanded.
Roman did so, hoping that Mr Castor would pick up.
As much as he hated to say it, the only one who could get him out of this mess, was Mr Castor.
They all waited as the phone rang and rang, before Mr Castor finally picked up.
“Hello!,” Mr Castor voice rang out, making Roman sigh out in relief.
“Hey man,” Roman says, chuckling nervously. “I am at the cave for the party with Richie, but nobody is here.”
“Did the venue change?”
The phone was silent for a while.
While Roman, prayed that Mr Castor get the signal he was trying to send to him.
“Oh! sorry man, I thought you already knew,” Mr Castor says, “but the party was cancelled.”
“Oh! ok, thanks man,” Roman says, before quickly cutting the call.
He pocketed his phone, before glancing at Brandon with a smile on his face.
Brandon smiled back at him, before landing a straight hard punch to his face.
The force of it, knocked Roman unto his back.
“I am going to ask you again,” Brandon gritted out coldly.
“What are you doing here?”
