Chapter 50 Fifty one
EMILY’S POV
Emily blinked slowly, raising her hands to shield her eyes from the bright light overhead. She yawned, glancing around. They were still at the safe house, and she must have fallen asleep a while ago.
Her eyes widened as she looked around, the makeshift infirmary was filled to the brim with injured warriors. Quickly, Emily stands up, going to help Sheila who was currently attending to an injured man.
She glanced around, praying that Roman wasn’t part of the injured warriors, sighing in relief when she didn’t notice him anywhere. She sincerely hoped he wasn’t here because he was helping out, and not because he was laying lifeless somewhere.
Immediately she got to where Sheila was, Emily moved into action, helping wherever she could. They worked tirelessly, attending to every one, before taking a break themselves.
“What happened out there?” Emily asked, wondering what could have happened in the short moments she took a nap.
“I don’t know,” Sheila mumbled out, “I guess this attack was more coordinated than we thought.”
They both kept quiet, each deep in thought. “Why now?” Why would the rogues attack now?
“How are you dear?” Emily glanced up, straightening her spine at the sight of Luna Serena in front of her.
“Luna,” Emily whispered, both she and Sheila standing up to greet her.
“I am fine thank you,” Luna Serena smiled at her, before gesturing for Sheila to follow her. Emily watched as they discussed, moving away from her. She sighs, before sitting back down.
She had not seen Luna Serena for a while, the woman was like a shadow, hiding behind Alpha Castor. Emily looked round the safe house, different people mingling around, some were fast asleep, why some discussed with each other in groups.
How long has the fight been going on Emily wondered, being inside the safe house, none of them could tell the condition outside.
The attack had been so sudden, even if Alpha Castor was to call for backup, it would take some time before they got here.
Emily said a quick prayer to the moon goddess, she prayed that Roman remain safe, and that they come out of these without much damage,
“Hey!Emily,” Sheila called, walking towards her.
Emily glanced behind her at the sound of her name, Sheila stood behind her, prompting Emily to turn towards her.
“Can you please come help me share out the food Luna Serena brought.”
“Sure why not,” Emily says, following Sheila to where bags of food and water were.
They gave out the food to the ones awake for now, some refusing the food why others gobbled down the food hungryly. Emily didn’t blame those that rejected, some of them their sons were laying down in the infirmary badly wounded.
“Excuse me, I need that," Kimberly says, rudely dragging the food in Emily’s hand.
Stunned Emily watched as Kimberly collected extra plates, before going back to the bed she had claimed.
“Can you believe her?” She asked Sheila who was seething by her side. I mean, Emily really didn’t know much about being the daughter and heir to a pack, but she at least expected Kimberly to help out as everyone here was doing in their own way. Instead the lazy bitch was doing nothing, rather taking as much food as she could.
She shook her head, holding down everything she had to say, instead she focused back on the task at hand.
They didn’t know how long this fight was going to be, so Emily was trying to rationalize the food as much as she could.
After making sure everyone had everything they needed, she checked on some of the injured warriors, before choosing a corner to lay in.
She was thoroughly exhausted, and her injured ribs were throbbing in pain.
She ate the little food she had taken for herself, drinking enough water, before laying down to sleep. There was nothing else they could do, except wait till everything was over.
Crashing waves, wakes Emily up. She glanced around, standing up from the sand she was laying on. What!! She mutters, glancing around. The scenery was familiar, she was standing in front of a huge cave, the cave her uncle lived in.
“This is surprising,” Emily turned, surprised to see Anthony casually sitting on one of the huge rocks around.
“What is going on?” she asked, was she dreaming, “or was this another memory buried somewhere in her mind?”
Anthony stood up, walking towards her. He had a huge frown on his face as he stared at her.
“You tell me he says, you keep surprising me every time.”
“I didn’t know you could do this," he says, circling her as if she were an exotic painting.
“Do what?” Emily asked him, confused about what was going on.
“You see,” he says, “there is something about being a true Alpha that was never included in the books, even Camille didn’t have it. Only a few, and I mean very few people know about it.”
“You are not fully bonded to your wolf, but yet you could still access something that only a few true Alpha that had risen could possess.”
“What is that?” Emily asked, wondering what else was hidden about herself she didn’t know.
“Astral projection.” Only a few True Alphas could astral project, the last person I knew that could do this was my great grandfather.
“Wait! Wait!, what do you mean?" Emily asked in disbelief, chucking awkwardly at how absurd Anthony sounded.
She had never heard about something like this, granted she really didn’t know much about being a werewolf. Why was all this happening to her, and why now?
“Do you mean I could walk into anyone's dream or what?” she asked.
“Yes,” that is exactly what I mean, A very valuable trait. Back in the days, my grandfather used his, as a way to pass information and also gather them.
“This is really remarkable, I thought that gene wasn’t going to come out in my generation, who would have thought that you of all people would be given that gift. If you can do this without being fully merged with your wolf, I can’t wait to see all you could do fully merged.”
Emily glanced towards Anthony in disbelief, goosebumps spreading over her arms at the look in his eyes.
“So this is not a dream, or some forgotten memory?”
“No Emily,” it’s not.
“Then how do I go back?”she asked Anthony.
“That my dear, is what we need to figure out.” Anthony says, a creepy smile on his face.
