Chapter 18 CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Chapter 18 CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
ROMAN’S POV

Loud pounding on their door, alerted them that the Alpha and Miss Falcon were already here. His mother in Histeria, had called on the Alpha through the pack link. She had also proceeded to alert Miss Falcon, in case her help was needed. Roman sat on their living room couch, Bella close to him, clutching his hands tightly.

He could hear the ongoing vicious fight going on in his room. And as much as he feared for his father, he feared for Emily more.

His mum rushed to the door, opening it to let the Alpha in. At the exact same time silence ensured, prompting our heads to the direction of the stairs. Roman’s heart pounded, he stood up hastily heading toward the stairs, but the sight of his badly wounded father coming down the stairs with an unconscious Emily in his hands, stopped him.

What happened? Is she alright? he asked his father.

His father simply glanced at him. She is fine he grumbled out, before laying Emily gently on the couch.  Roman moved closer to her, but his mother dragged him back, holding him close to her, the fear of what she had seen earlier thumping through her veins.

Roman glanced at Emily, his gaze on her tired, but peaceful face. Any trace of the beast earlier gone, as she slept peacefully.

What was that earlier? he asked his mum. I have never seen anyone change into half human, half wolf.

His father and the Alpha looked at each other, while everyone else remained silent, each deep in their own thoughts.

Bella, take your brother upstairs, his father said, his gaze focused on Emily, watching her as if any moment the calm facade would disappear.

Roman followed Bella upstairs, glancing at Emily, once more.

Do you think she is going to be ok? He asked Bella, worried for her.

I don’t know, she said, before laying down on her bed.

Roman did the same, the both of them laying side by side, pondering on everything that just happened.

By the time Roman woke up in the morning, Emily was gone already.

Miss falcon had taken her in so they could observe her health more.

As he limped down the stairwell, a familiar voice greets him. Hey bro “how are you doing?” Stefan asked, munching from the bowl of cereal in front of him.

“I am good, Roman grumbled out tiredly.”

“Where’s Bella?” he asked his mum.

School, she replied simply.

Why don’t you freshen up for school huh!! his mother said, looking at him softly.

Really!!!I can go, Roman asked his mom surprised.

““Yes, honey. You have been cooped up in this house, your wounds are almost healed, and besides, you need to be with your friends right now.””

Roman nodded, happy to be able to go somewhere other than this house.

He turned around, going towards the stairs but was stopped by his mum.

I forgot, she said. Can you please use the guest room for now, I have dropped most things you will be needing there.

Roman nodded, understandably. He avoided looking at the door leading to his room, the memory of last night fresh in his head. He entered the guest room, noting the fact that his mother had moved some of his things here.

He probably would be staying here for a while.

Quickly he took his shower, brushed his teeth and then dressed up for school. He limped his way down, eating the bowl of cereal his mother prepared for him.

““Here, Stefan says, handing him, stacks of books.””I did your homework for you, you just need to turn them in yourself.

“Thanks bro, " Roman said,” shuffling the books into his backpack.

His mother changed his bandages, before driving him and Stefan to school. Roman, rolled down the car window, taking in fresh air. The cold crisp air ruffles through his hair and body as he sighed, thinking about Emily.

Hey, his mum called, turning towards Roman. If you feel like leaving just call me, and please no more making rash decisions please, his mother said, dropping them in front of the school.

Roman just nodded his head, before coming down from the car, gentle with his legs.

“You need help bro?” Stefan asked, coming to stand in front of Roman.

It’s fine, Roman said, hanging his backpack over his shoulder, before slowly limping into the school, Stefan by his side.

Immediately they entered the school, most students flocked to them, asking different questions. By now, Roman was sure they had heard everything that happened.

The Silver Crescent pack wasn't a small pack. But everyone knew almost everyone, making it way easier for gossip and information to spread fast.

He smiled tightly at most, Stefan acting as his bodyguard. Well!!!, he mostly growled menacingly at them, making them back off. No one, wanted to offend the Alpha’s son.

They got to their class in peace, taking their usual seat at the back. “You good?” Stefan asked him, bringing out the necessary books he needed.

““No, I am not Roman, grumbled, doing the same.””

“What happened yesterday?” Stefan asked quite my, not wanting anyone to listen.

“It’s a long story bro Roman said,” resting his back against his chair.

Stefan nodded, understandably. See, this was the reason why Stefan was his best friend. He never pushed you to talk, and he knew when to be serious or goofy. He allowed you to open up yourself, giving you the appropriate space you need, but stepping in when he feels like you need help.

Their teacher Miss Elise walked in, quietening the loud chatter. Her gaze glanced round the room, before resting on Roman. She nodded at him, before proceeding with the class.

After numerous classes, Roman was ready to call it a day. He was tired, and his legs were aching. He walked slowly into the school cafeteria, his body leaning heavily on Stefan’s as he assisted him.

They took their seats, before Stefan left to go get their food.

He came back, holding two trays of food. Placing one in front of Roman, before taking his own seat. Stefan gists Roman, about the intense training he had been receiving all this while. I can’t wait for you to get better bro he said, the food in his mouth flying about.

Roman grimaced in disgust, eww!! He said, close your mouth, while eating, he told Stefan. Stefan just grinned evilly, before opening his mouth filled with food, wide.

Roman closed his eyes, shaking his head as he smiled. He was grateful for Stefan’s assistance, today.

Their heads snapped up as screaming rings through the hall. A young boy was holding his arms that had been seriously bitten, blood was gushing out from it,  trailing behind him as he ran into the cafeteria.

He fell to the fall, scrambling up quickly, as three huge wolves barged in after him.

The cafeteria that had been silent with shock, buzzed with screams and commotion, as everyone ran in different directions, the unknown wolves, causing havoc.

Rogue’s!!!!!, someone screamed, amidst the panic.
