Chapter 30 Chapter 30. Faye Alters the Truth to Destroy Zoria’s Baby
Evander took a deep breath and placed his hand on Zoria’s head. "The one Uncle Kieran worries about most is you. He used to think that at least your mother could take care of you. He never expected Auntie Juliette to cut off the bond with him and leave you behind."
Zoria raised a hand to cover her eyes. When she lowered it again, her gaze had already returned to calm. "I do not blame her. I have no reason to."
After all, everyone had their own choices.
"Uncle Kieran told you not to worry about him. There are guards watching over him in the detention center. He also asked me to take care of you. So... Zoria, you should think more about yourself. Even if not for you, then for the baby. Cut off the bond with Zephyr as soon as possible. I will help you."
Zoria clenched her teeth. If she truly laid everything bare with Zephyr, would he really not do anything in the detention center to harm her father?
Thinking of Zephyr’s threats, a chill ran down her spine. At that moment, the baby moved again. This time the movement was faint, but it came with a sharp stab of pain. She frowned slightly, her face turning pale from the pain.
Evander noticed something was wrong and asked gently, "What is it?"
Zoria shook her head. She waited for the pain to pass before looking up and saying awkwardly, "The baby just moved, so it hurt a little."
Evander finally relaxed. He bent down to look at her belly and said warmly, "The early stage can be a bit uncomfortable. You will get used to it later." As he spoke, he affectionately rubbed Zoria’s belly.
"Do not mess around in your mommy’s belly. Behave yourself, or I will spank you once you are out."
Zoria immediately laughed, and the heaviness in her heart from earlier faded away.
The taxi arrived. Evander stood there watching Zoria leave. His gaze lingered on the back of the car for a long time, until it disappeared from sight. Only then did he let out a soft sigh, the corners of his lips tinged with faint bitterness.
Neither of them knew that all their movements just now had been recorded on a phone.
A servant hid inside a car, stitched the video and photos together, and sent them to Faye.
When Faye received the message and opened it, a cold, vicious smile curled at her lips. So this was Zoria’s so-called old lover. She wondered what kind of reaction Zephyr would have if he saw these intimate images.
The last time Faye came to the hospital, she had threatened and coaxed the doctor who once operated on Zoria into revealing that Zoria was pregnant, and that during that surgery, she had almost gone into premature labor.
After the fetus had been barely saved, Zoria and her cousin Evander had lied to Zephyr, telling him that the pregnancy had ended in a miscarriage.
Faye had heard the name Evander that day, standing outside the bathroom when Zephyr and Zoria were arguing. She thought it might be useful later and remembered it. She did not expect it to actually come in handy now.
Had Zoria not lied to Zephyr that she had miscarried? Then she would make it a real miscarriage.
Faye took out her laptop and adjusted the timestamp on the video. After finishing, she anonymously sent it directly to Zephyr. Now all she had to do was wait for Zephyr to have his little surprise, and then wait for Zoria to buy lubricant and contraceptive condoms.
Zoria bought a box of nutritional powder at the supermarket. While paying, she remembered that Faye had asked her to buy condoms, so she quickly grabbed a box from the shelf. Even though she was buying them for someone else, she still felt awkward. Her face burned, and she nearly buried it in her collar. After paying, she hurried out of the supermarket, then stopped by a specialty shop and casually grabbed a small tube of lubricant, slipping it into her bag.
Back at the villa, Zoria took a look around and still did not see Faye. She guessed Faye was probably in the garden. Zoria carried the nutrition box back to her room to put it away, then took out the ointment and the condoms from her bag.
The moment she stepped out of her room, Zoria saw Faye standing at the foot of the stairs. There was a hint of a smile in Faye’s eyes, and it made a chill creep up Zoria’s spine without her even realizing it.
Faye stepped up the stairs one step at a time and asked as she walked, “The stuff I told you to buy, did you get it?”
Zoria took the items out of her bag and handed them over. Faye glanced at the bottle of lubricant, snatched it with one hand, and twisted the cap open right in front of Zoria.
Zoria had planned to leave as soon as she handed the things over, but to her surprise, Faye suddenly called her back. Zoria turned around and saw Faye pull out a tissue and squeeze the lubricant onto it.
“What are you doing?” Zoria frowned.
Faye did not stop until she had squeezed out more than half the bottle. Then she said casually, “This stuff is for me. Of course I have to check whether you bought something expired.”
Zoria frowned slightly, completely speechless. Asking her to buy sex related items was bad enough, and now she was still being suspected after buying them.
After checking the lubricant, Faye reached out and opened the condom package as well. Leaning against the stair railing, she asked as if it were nothing, “Zoria, have you ever used this kind of thing before?”
Zoria’s face stiffened, her expression instantly turning ugly. Was Faye deliberately trying to disgust her?
In the past, whenever Zephyr had sex with her, he always insisted on using condoms. There was no reason other than the fact that he found her dirty.
In three years of living together, they had not had sex many times, but every single time Zephyr had used a condom. Except for four months ago, when he had been drunk and did not use one. That one accidental time was enough for Zoria to become pregnant.
Faye put the items away, her eyes full of provocation. “Zephyr has never used condoms when he has sex with me. Last night, he even bit my ear and told me he likes direct skin to skin contact with me the most.”
Zoria heard every word of Faye’s boasting clearly. She laughed, laughing at Faye’s ignorance. Did Faye really not know that having frequent sex without protection made it very easy to catch a sexually transmitted disease?
Zoria could not be bothered to say anything more to Faye. “If there is nothing else, I am going back to my room.”
