Chapter 48
Morris looked at me .“Why is he crying like a baby?”
She looked a bit embarrassed.
“ I'll fill you in on that later”
“You know what He looks good up there keep him here don't let him go Daniel”
I looked at Greg and the Agents.
“You made me suffer Sean, they may have spared you .I don't have it in my heart to hurt a human being but you, you're not a human you're a monster and monsters deserve to die . Let me see how you feel here for a week without water ,without food, without anyone to speak to the same way you locked me in a room for one week ,without anyone and anything not even a drop of water. Let me see how you feel ”
She walked out of there and left us . I followed her out . the minute she got outside she started crying. I walked up behind her and held her.
“ That's why I didn't want you to see him”
“ I had to because this is the first time I've ever really looked at him properly. He's a monster Daniel , the things he did to me no one should ever go through those things. You said his mother met you ,I want to know everything ”
“okay I'll tell you on the way home”.
On the way home to the apartment I told her everything that had happened. By the time we got to the parking garage she knew everything that had happened to Sean's mother. She started crying ,crying for a woman that she didn't know .She barely knew the woman that tried to protect her .
“Why are they like that?”
“They're sick love that's the only explanation I can give to you ”
When we walked into the apartment and Mrs Mendez saw her she left what she was doing and ran straight into her and hugged her .“I'm so happy you're okay. I'm so happy you're home, it's so good to see you .Are you hungry? Do you need something to drink?”
She started laughing .“ I'm okay, I'm fine. It's good to be home. yes I am kind of hungry can I please have a sandwich ”
“Okay I'll make you some spaghetti and how about a glass of wine?”
“No Mrs Mendez just water ”
“Okay why did you go take a shower and get some rest I'll have it finished in 15 minutes”
I looked at Mrs Mendez.“ You never treated me that way?”
She just looked at me and smiled .
“It's okay Mrs mendez don't listen to him and thank you .I'll just go take a shower ”
I just looked at her.“ Athena you've got my employees going crazy”
“ I didn't do anything”
“ No you didn't sweetheart , you were just yourself”
“Daniel ”
“Yes love ”
“Thank you ”
“You're welcome love, why don't you go take a shower”
“ Okay ,are my clothes still in the closet?”
I looked at her .“Athena, since you left I haven't slept in our room. I missed you and our bed smells like you ”
“Okay”
I watched her walk into the room I went to the office Greg was behind me. “Right get more security here no one enters that elevator without me knowing and you knowing”
“ Already did sir. They should be here in a few minutes . Agent Morris forgot to tell you , they've got the search warrant and are about to go over there.Thats why they came over”
“Well shit , thank you Greg. When the security guards get here you'll debrief them. Make sure they understand that nothing is to happen to her”.
“Don't worry Sir,I hand picked them . They've worked with me before, they'll understand”
“Thank you Greg”
After he left I called my mom .
“Daniel, is everything okay?”
“ She's home ”
“You found her? I'm coming ”
“Yes, okay but come alone. She wants to see you and Natalie but not together in case anyone is watching. Nobody knows that I brought her home”
“ Okay ”
“Don't park your car outside mom ,drive straight into the garage ”
“Okay I'll be there in a few minutes ”
“Can you call Natalie and Cyrus? Everyone needs to come over one by one. I don't want everyone crowded over here at the same time”
“ Okay Daniel ”
I ended the call and called Riley to let her know .She would be over tomorrow. When I came out of my office I found her coming out of the room wearing a dress.
“You've finished showering?”
“ Yes okay let's get you something to eat. Did you drink your vitamins?”
“ Yes ”
“Okay let's have dinner my mother should be here soon”
“Okay”
We had just finished having dinner when my mother walked in . The minute she saw Athena she ran to her and grabbed her.“Oh sweetheart , are you okay? I've missed you so much. I'm so happy you're home”
“I'm okay Cynthia ,I really am. It's good to be home”
I just stood there looking at them. My mother didn't even see me. They sat down in the living room and they were talking. I saw Greg come out from the security room and nodded to me . I look at Athena and my mom. They'll be fine here. I headed to the security room.
“What's the matter Greg ?”
“Sir agent Morris is on the phone for you”
He handed me his phone. “ Yes Agent Morris?”
“Chase you better hide your wife”
“ What do you mean ?”
“ Right now we are at Johnson's manor and the shit that we found all hell is about to break loose ”
“What do you mean Agent Morris ?”
“We just dragged up four fucking bodies from that lake ”
“Jesus fucking Christ, he killed so many people?”
“That's the thing we don't know if he killed them or Sean . And from the looks of it there's more bodies down there”
“Shit ”
“Do you have somebody watching Sean?”
“ Why?”
“ Because Senator Johnson is on the run and I think he's going to come for Athena. His wife is already in protective custody. Just get every single one of your family members and hide them because all hell is about to break loose. I'll keep you posted”
“ Okay ”.I ended the call
“Greg, go get Riley and Kevin and bring them here. I'm going to call Cyrus, and tell him to get over here with Natalie . Also get my Dad over here I'm not taking any chances .Oh and whoever you have watching on Sean let them get him out of there and take him to my office”
“What happened Sir?”
“They found four bodies in the lake according to Morris there's more and , Johnson's on the run”
“I'll get them sir”
Athena
Cynthia was so excited to have me home. She made sure I was okay before asking about the baby . We were talking when I saw Daniel walk back out . Something was wrong.
“Daniel , What's wrong?”
“ Mom, I need you to get Dad over here. Johnson's on the run. They found four bodies ”
“I'll call him right now”
I think I forgot how to breathe . I stood up and walked into the bathroom , I started throwing up. I knew Daniel was in the room. When I stepped out of the bathroom he was standing there.
“Princess are you okay?”
“No I'm not Daniel, this is never going to stop .This is never going to end . Your entire family is going to be in danger because you wanted to be with me”
“I know , they'll finish it , they will find Johnson”
“ How he's on the run ,he's going to be looking for his son and me. He's going to find a way to get to me. Daniel he will but I'm not going to let that happen. I won't give him what he wants”
“What do you mean Athena?”
“ I mean I'm not going to let him get to me, I'm going to get to him first”
I knew exactly what I had to do to get Johnson . I walked back out of the room.
“Greg”
“ Princess Greg isn't here”
