Chapter 60 Disappointment
Chapter 60 Disappointment
Jayden Park.
The door of the equipment room opened, and I wiped my face when I saw Keila there. She was a beautiful Dutch exchange student who had always been friendly, but with whom I never had much contact. She looked at me confused, but seemed to notice that I was crying, so she closed the door behind her. I also wondered what she was doing there, since she didn't seem like the type to use that room the same way everyone else did.
"What are you looking at? Never seen a man cry?" I asked, exasperated, because she wouldn't stop staring at me, and she gave a shy smile.
"No. I've never seen one, but I confess it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen." She said and sighed.
Her blonde hair fell over her blue eyes, and I shrank, avoiding her gaze.
"Well, I don't know if it's adorable, but I know it sucks to feel like this." I affirmed, and she pouted before searching for a small tissue in her backpack and offering it to me.
"Well, I don't know what the reason for you feeling this way is, but I know it'll pass. Everything is temporary!" She assured me, and I shook my head.
"Not everything. My reputation certainly isn't, and apparently it will haunt me until the end of my days." I affirmed, wiping my face with the tissue she gave me, and she approached, pointing to my side as if asking if she could sit.
I just nodded, and she took off her backpack before settling on the inflatable mattress that made an annoying noise.
"Only those who do nothing judge those who are doing it. If you made mistakes, it means you were at least trying to do something." She said, and I shook my head.
"It's not that simple. My reputation as a playboy isn't because I was trying to do something, but because I wasn't wanting anything." I stated, and she pouted, seeming to think about it.
"But did you deceive anyone? Did you lie to some girl saying you wanted to date her or swore eternal love and then hurt someone?" She asked, and I shook my head.
"No, I've always been clear about how things worked with me. The only girl I ever declared myself to is precisely the one who rejects me because of my past." I explained, and she stared at me, seeming to observe every feature of my face with admiration, unlike Rachel, who didn't seem to feel anything for me other than anger and fear.
"Then she's a fool. You're the nicest guy in the university, and any girl would want to be in her place, even if it was just for a few hours." She asserts, and her blue orbs focus on my lips.
I averted my gaze, but when I realize she was already kissing me, and her hand was on my chest.
"If you want, I can make you forget about her. Even if it's just for a few hours." She whispered, and her hand pressed against my chest, making me lie down, and she straddled me, with one leg on each side of my body.
I wasn't feeling anything. It was as if my whole body was numb, and I didn't know how to react. If it were other times, I wouldn't think twice, but now I wonder if it was worth proving everyone right about me and that I'm incapable of change. She let her hair down, and her hands slid over my abdomen, lifting my shirt, and soon the blonde was sliding her mouth over my body. She tried to open my belt, but I pushed her hands away, raising my torso, and she kissed me again.
I sighed deeply and closed my eyes, grabbing her hair. My hand was on her waist, and the blonde seemed to be in ecstasy, but with closed eyes, all I could see was Rachel. All I could think while feeling the taste of mint gum in Keila's mouth was that I wanted Rachel's unmistakable taste, and I stopped.
When my eyes opened, I saw a blur of red hair near the glass door, and I was startled, jumping up. The blonde got scared and ended up rolling to the side, and I shook my head. Was I seeing things? Rachel is at the debate club at this time; it couldn't be her. Still, I ran away from there, and I heard Keila calling me, but I didn't care.
I looked around, and there was no sign of Rachel anywhere. I decided to look for her at the debate club, and she simply wasn't there. I pulled my own hair and sighed. Damn it! Did she see me with Keila? Well, if she did, it's not like we had anything. She made it clear she didn't want anything with me, so why do I feel so guilty?
I walked through the university asking for Rachel, and no one seemed to have seen the redhead anywhere. I remember the day I saw her sitting on Jasper's lap and ran to the music room. When I got there, I was out of breath, and luckily, she seemed to be alone. I opened the door, approached, and sighed in relief.
"Rachel, I've been looking for you everywhere!" I affirmed, worried, and she sighed, but didn't turn to face me.
I tried to approach, but a firm voice was present in the room.
"Haven't you done enough already, Jayden? Leave Rachel alone!" Jasper demands, and I see him standing at the door, holding a glass of water and staring at me as if he were planning to kill me.
Several questions passed through my mind. What happened for him to be so angry with me, to the point of being slightly trembling? Why did Rachel ignore me? But mainly, I wondered why I couldn't have a peaceful day?
