I continued searching everywhere for the omega, but there was still no sign of her. What the hell? Where could she be?
I headed to Mrs. Bea's chamber and burst the door open without thinking twice. "Mrs. Bea! Where is the omega?"
Her eyes were widened by my barging in. She had a bunch of money in her hand that she quickly hid behind her. "Al-Alpha, you're... here..."
"I asked where the fuck is my omega?" she flinched at the loudness of my voice.
"I have no idea where Jane is."
"Aren't you in charge of assigning her to duties?" I asked with clenched fists and jaws.
"Ye-yes, but I haven't seen her today. I was searching for her everywhere but couldn't find her. I was mad that it had passed the time for her to make breakfast for the pack house, but she wasn't doing that."
"Why didn't you inform me about that?"
"I had no idea... I mean, I was going to, I didn't think she was missing or something, I only thought... I thought... I didn't know, Luna mind-linked me while I was still searching for her." She shivered under my gaze.
"So you're telling me," I said with gritted teeth, "my omega is fucking missing and you're here sorting out money?" I felt like my head was about to burst.
"No, I wasn't... I I..."
I stormed out of the room, realizing that it was pointless to continue yelling at her when my omega could probably be in terrible danger.
'EMERGENCY GATHERING IN THE PACK HOUSE LIVING ROOM!' I announced through mind link in the pack house range and when I arrived downstairs, a good number of the pack house members were around, muttering to themselves in confusion.
"The omega is nowhere to be found. Search for her everywhere. No one must rest until she's found." I asserted.
Everyone stared at me like I had gone crazy.
"The omega?" Someone asked.
"Why does it matter if she's missing? I mean, she's just an ordinary mutt. Why'd we care about her?" Someone said in almost a whisper, the idiot probably forgot about my high hearing sensitivity and definitely fueled my anger even more.
"Have you lost your mind? If the omega isn't found, no activity must go on in the pack house and in the entire pack!" I declared at the top of my voice.
"But Alpha," a familiar pale woman with dark hair called from the gathering, "the decorations are currently taking place and the deadline is approaching. It'll not be "
"Have you all lost your fucking minds? No one ever dares to question my order and it should never happen again!" I drew my lips into a snarl, Drex was slowly taking over. I turned to Mason, "If any activity takes place without the omega being found, make sure you burn the place down and arrest everyone in the scene!" I ordered and he nodded. "Everyone, start searching for the omega right now!" I concluded and everyone scattered in different directions.
Scarlett was standing still, gazing at me with her eyes drawn in askance.
"Are you deaf or something? Don't stand there looking gormless and start looking for her." I yelled at her. She flinched a bit before bowing her head in apology and scurried away.
I ran my hand through my hair, trying to control my nervous and angered pantings.
It had been almost an hour, yet the omega still hadn't been found even with so many people searching for her.
I had to head to my room to avoid anyone from noticing my fear as I panted, pacing around like an insane man, pondering on where the Omega could've gone. If Mrs. Bea didn't send her to go anywhere, then where the heck was she? I had never been this worried in my entire life.
Glancing at the note I had placed on the table earlier kept making my chest feel harsh throbbings. I picked the paper with the blood painted on it and the omega's sweet strawberry scent lurked around the blood, kicking my fear to its peak.
"This is so crazy. Who would dare to hurt our mate? I swear I won't spare whoever the fuck it is when I get my hands on him.' Drex growled in my head, feeling equally restless.
'I'm so pissed off and scared right now. If the omega is actually dead, I think it'd make me go crazy because I don't understand what the hell this frustrating feeling is.' I admitted. It felt like I was being squeezed on the inside at every thought of the omega being dead.
I remembered she had a phone and I had placed a tracker on her phone. I quickly pulled my phone out of my pants pocket and activated the tracker.
It tracked her phone down to here in my bedroom. I searched around till I found the phone on the bed. Out of frustration, I threw my phone out of reach and left to resume searching for her.
'Any news about the omega yet?' I asked in general and multiple 'No's rang in my head.
I was about to yell at everyone for not putting enough effort when someone announced, 'She has been found! I think she was just brought here because she wasn't here before.'
'Where is she?'
'Beside the pack garden.' The male voice replied.
I quickly ran to the pack garden. There were so many people around her. I pushed past them and spotted the omega lying lifelessly on the ground with a cut on her exposed arm.
"Why are you standing and staring so aimlessly? Someone should take her in and call the doctor!" Scarlett ordered.
"I don't know if she's still alive." The short male werewolf that had made the announcement replied. I paid attention to her breathing and could literally feel her breaths against my skin.
"She's alive" I stopped myself from heaving a sigh and carried her in my arms. "Call Crystal over to my bedroom." I said to Mason.
"Crystal isn't at home now, but I'll call someone else over."
"Be quick." how could the pack house doctor not be available at a time like this? I ignored my internal frustrations and carried the omega to my room and laid her on the bed while I paced around, waiting for Mason to arrive.
Scarlett, Mom, Mrs. Bea, and Shane were the only people in my room, watching the omega and me like I had lost my mind.
After a while, Crystal came in with Mason. "I'm so sorry for the delay." She apologized and sat beside the omega on the bed, opening her large box and started taking things out of it.
I stopped pacing to keep my focus on the omega, waiting impatiently to know what the hell was wrong with her.
It took a while till Crystal did whatever she was doing to the omega and rose to her feet. "It's nothing big. The omega was probably knocked out or something else that made her unconscious and she just has a small cut that isn't deep, though she'd have lost a small amount of blood from the cut, but she'll wake up anytime soon."
Her words made relief wash over me like magic. I was so excited to know she wasn't going to die or anything that serious.
"That's good to know, Crystal. Is there anything else?"
"No, nothing. We'll just wait for her to wake up then I'll check up on her again. Can I take my leave now?" she asked with a small smile.
"Yes, you can. Everyone else, please leave, your concern is acknowledged." I said to them. Mrs. Bea, Shane, and Mom left; Mom's roll of her eyes made it obvious that she didn't even want to be here. "Let me know when she wakes up." Mason said and helped Crystal carry her box as they took their leave. I sat on the bed beside the omega but Scarlett's presence still made me uncomfortable. "Do you need anything?" I said to her over my shoulder.
She shook her head in response; her expression was unclear- she looked concerned, upset, and mostly skeptical. "Let me know when she wakes up." She bowed her head before taking her leave and shut the door.
I finally felt comfortable enough to hold the omega's hand in my hands. It felt like a wave of pleasure of placation to feel her skin against mine again. "I'm so glad you're alive. Just wake up, okay?"
I really hoped she woke up soon, so the madness I was feeling could go away completely.
