Chapter 111 Chapter 111
\- JANE -
"Please let me go!" I cried to the guards that were watching over me but they turned deaf ears to my pleas.
I tried to struggle free from the plant but it was still too tight against me. My mind kept racing through what could possibly be their actual attack and my heart raced so much at the thought of the current state of the pack. What if Keegan wasn't able to handle it?
Darion suddenly walked towards me with blood stains on his body as he checked them out.
"Darion," I called, excited to at least see him. He lifted his gaze to me. "Please, save me from these people and plants. I can't deal with this any longer."
He dismissed the guards then walked a few more steps till he stopped in front of me with a sly smile. "Oh, sweetheart," he said in a very deep and husky voice, running his hand over my face then chortled." You thought I was so stupid?"
"The moment I started to doubt you was when I started to doubt you was when I asked if your love for me was washing off and you disagreed. We didn't tamper with your mind to make you love me, your parents wanted it to be out of your choice; you'll realize how useless Keegan is, then would finally fall in love with me, but I decided to play along with you, baby."
My eyes widened at that new piece of information but I shook my head. "Just untie me, please." I pleaded.
"You're going to be stuck here till we've completed our mission. You'll have to remain here so you don't mess things up. Keegan has to go first so your parents can fulfill their promise to me to make you mine. Just be patient." He smirked and turned away.
"Darion, please don't go." I yelled back to him but he just left and the guards refocused their attention on me.
\-VLADIMIR -
I was about to head to their town doctor for treatment of the injuries Keegan had caused when I overheard Darion speaking to Jane.
What the heck was that? What did he mean by the Ardolfs had promised Jane to Darion. I definitely knew something was up with him, the way he acted around Jane was strange, but not to the extent of the Ardolfs lying to me that they were going to trade Jane to me for their victory yet still promising her to Darion.
How dare they try to betray me? I always knew they were sneaky, but they had gone too far with this lie.
"They have to repay for ever trying to fool Vladimir Gray." I said through gritted teeth.
Though I wanted Jane because I didn't want Keegan to have her, it was going to be pointless if she was given to a random dickhead, he was just an ordinary loyal member of their town. How could they compare him to me, the soon-to-be strongest Alpha?
I had to let Dad know. If they lied about this, they could probably turn their backs on us, they could've been trying to deceive us all through as well.
I left there, not bothering to receive treatments anymore for my injuries and quickly headed back to meet Dad where Keegan was.
I stormed into my bedroom and Chloe flinched from tucking my bed.
"Oh, hey Vladimir." She waved.
"Has Dad left here?"
"He hasn't even returned here." She turned to me and took a quick scan of my body. "You're hurt!" Her eyes were immediately filled with concern as she held my shoulders to still inspect me.
"It's nothing."
"Sit."
"I don't have time for this nonsense." My tone was filled with so much fury but it didn't seem to bother her.
"Sit." She insisted and forced me to sit before grabbing the first aid box. "I know you won't head over for proper treatment afterwards, so you can still bear with this till you have enough time to go to a medical professional."
She started applying ointments to it and her Hazel eyes were drawn together with her eyebrows furrowed like she could feel my pain. "I really don't understand why you do these things.. Can't you just be safe? It's pointless to cause harm to yourself." Her voice croaked.
"Pointless?" I scoffed. "It'd have made complete sense if the Ardolfs didn't try to play smart. Now that they've lied to me, I won't have Jane as easily as I thought I would." I scoffed. "Can you imagine that they want to give Jane to a stupid Darion instead of me?"
She stopped and stood up straight. "Firstly, Jane's not an object to just be given or received anyhow as anyone pleases." Her tone turned cold. "Secondly, I don't know why you're so crazy about Jane. Why are you chasing someone you can certainly never have when someone that'll always be yours still remains here?"
I quirked an eyebrow at her and for the first time, I peered deeply into her Hazel eyes and was able to read the emotions spiraling in her eyes that she couldn't convey with words.
JANE -
At this point, all I could do was sob with tears. It hurt me that I had no other option. I didn't know how long I had been stuck here for but I just wanted to be free. Who knows what the hell could be happening to Keegan and our pack?
Vera was dead silent, not even offering any help to me right now.
"Can't you just try to free me?" I asked one of the deaf-mute guards again.
They had been ignoring me for eternity, but one of them turned to me and finally replied, "there's nothing we can do. Just shut up and stop bothering our eardrums. You're stuck here till everything is set, your royal highness." He added the last part in mocking anger then returned to his position.
One of the guards suddenly fell down. I, as well as the other two guards, flinched and turned our gaze to the guard when all of a sudden a shot was heard and the other two guards also fell down.
I looked around with my heart racing in fear when Sabrina and Grandmother suddenly walked in.
"Grandmother!" I exclaimed with a grin. "I'm so glad to see you." I had totally forgotten that she was also here. "Please try to save me. I don't know what they're doing to Keegan or to my pack. I promise you that Keegan is not terrible. Please just let me go and try to speak some sense into them. If anything happens to Keegan, I'll die. Please just let me go." I cried.
"Jane, we can't let you go." Sabrina said in her extremely annoyingly low voice.
"Why not? Please, I have to go." I begged desperately.
Grandmother's face was really glum as she advanced towards me. " Jane, I think it's high time you finally tried to unseal your powers. Try to think over all the lectures I've taught you, all the training, and just try to unlock your power. We can help you out with making the environment pleasant to welcome your power, but you have to work together with your wolf, because there is no way you can get out of these plants around you right now without your powers and strength. Since Freya is the main one behind tying you up, she's the only one that can get you out except yourself, and I'm very certain Freya wouldn't want to get you out right now. So please, just try to think deeply and get your wolf out to unseal this gift. You're only a few steps away, I can feel that.
Though I didn't really understand what she meant or how I could unlock this so-called gift, I was desperate at this point, so I shut my eyes and tried to connect with Vera.
'Vera, please try to get this gift. You're one of the strongest female wolves. We need to save our pack from doom.' I called to her and she jerked up in agreement.
"Shut your eyes and try to think deeply. It's in you, you just have to unseal it." Grandmother said.
Vera nodded as well as she shut her eyes.
After taking a deep breath, I had to think of the terrible things that could happen if I didn't get free from the plant. There was no way I could remain here. Keegan's life could be in danger, Rylee's life could also be in danger as well as everyone back at the pack and I couldn't let that happen.
"Be intentional about finding it. Sabrina, get the items." Grandmother said, her voice was slowly becoming faint.
I suddenly had a deep sensation from my bones and it felt like something was taking over my body.
Grandmother started chanting a few things as well as Sabrina. As they chanted it, it made me feel like I went to a different dimension.
I was alone in a dark area and there was a glowing light ahead of me. Grandmother and Sabrina's chanting were still very faint and echoed around me.
I moved closer to the light and could feel it heating up my body.
"Be intentional..."
I moved closer to the light and the moment and it felt like there was a chain around it but the moment I stepped in, the chain broke and a heavy weight fell upon me.
I let out a groan and was back against the tree. A bright light was emanating from me; my skin felt too bright like it was glowing and I had to shut my eyes as I groaned, an intense heat was being dug into my soul and it hurt every part of me.
"You can do this, Jane." Grandmother encourages.
It felt like a power of great force rested upon me and I felt more alive as I opened my eyes.
I let out a deep groan and pulled my hand from the plants. The plants snapped out of me and fell to the ground.
My body finally stopped glowing and the heat settled in me. It felt like a new dawn had come upon me as a new chill ran down my body.
"Jane, I'm so glad you finally did it!" Grandmother exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
"There's no time to waste. Quickly head over to Dark Stone before it's too late." Sabrina said.
I nodded and switched to Vera and started running to Dark Stone. I couldn't tell whether it was because of the new power but I felt more strengthened, my vision seemed clear, and my speed was way more than normal. I wondered what else this new power came with. I was glad I had finally unsealed it, but now I hoped nothing terrible had happened to the pack.
