Chapter 11 Chapter 11
~JANE ~
Another wolf pushed the rogue off of me and immediately snapped its neck off, panting while I sat up straight, my chest rising and falling really fast.
I froze in shock as I watched the rogue's head roll down, its blood staining the ground.
When the tall big black wolf towered over me, I flinched away, moving backwards till a rock stopped me. The dark color in the wolf's eyes was replaced with bright amber color, the moon's reflection glistened in his orbs.
Another wolf ran to meet up with it and other wolves, I could identify one of them as Chloe's wolf. It immediately dawned on me that the huge black wolf was Alpha Keegan's wolf.
A gray wolf barked orders then a few of the wolves took their leave. The presence of many wolves around me made me scared and my fast heartbeat still hadn't recovered from the rogue chasing me.
Alpha Keegan's wolf left then he returned in his human form a gray sweatpant, frowning really hard at me.
"Alpha," I sobbed, "thank goodness you arrived." I was glad to see him in his human form and didn't know why I hugged him, immediately regretting my decision when he pushed me away, not too hard to make me fall, but hard enough to make my hard jump out of its cage.
"How dare you hug me? If you ever do that again, I can throw you off a cliff." He spat, making a shiver of fear run down my body. Hw turned to the wolf beside him. "Ensure there's no other rogue around."
The wolf I assumed was Mason nodded then left with other wolves.
A car arrived to drive Alpha Keegan and I back to Night Shadow's pack house. We didn't say a word to each other. I was glad he didn't yell at me for leaving the pack house without his permission. He just seemed to be fuming to himself.
When we arrived, Chloe helped me dress my wounds. After she made me have a bath and eat, she forced me to go to bed.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into Kim." She apologized for the umpteenth time.
"It's fine. I appreciate your care. Kim probably panicked."
"I'm really sorry. You need to go to bed now." She covered me with the duvet and turned off the lights.
"Two more packs have arrived. It's just Crescent pack, then we'll start the meeting." I overheard Vladimir speaking to Alpha Keegan from the other side of the door.
"The meeting had better fucking happen soon. I left my pack to attend this, yet there's no cooperation and planning? Weren't all four packs members supposed to arrive when we arrived?" Alpha Keegan replied in his regular rude tone.
"Yes, they were, but they had to attend to other things. Alpha Blake of Crescent pack isn't here yet because his pack is still in serious danger and they are fighting. Be calm and let's wait till he arrives."
"What do you even know? Your pack wasn't attacked by rogues until yesterday. What do you want? Why did your pack's rogue attack have to do with my pack's omega?" His voice possessed a hint of suspicion. I knew it wasn't right to be eavesdropping, but how else was I supposed to gather information?
"You mean your mate?" I could sense a smirk was on Vladimir's lips, judging from his voice.
"An ordinary Omega? Why would I stoop so low to have an omega as my mate?" Ouch?
"Well... it's fine then. I'll make sure no attack happens again. Just wait till the meeting, then everything will be fine. Since you don't mind, I can have her all-"
I was startled when the door pulled open and my presence halted Vladimir's movement and speech.
"Oh, hey beautiful." A smile graced his lips. "Eavesdropping?"
"What? Me? Eavesdropping? No way! I'm just here to"
"I was only teasing you." The corner of his lips quirked upwards to a lopsided grin. "I hope you're fine now? I mean, from last night's attack?"
"y-yes." I nodded excessively, forcing a smile.
"We'll ensure it never happens again. It's sad that you were hurt, but I'm glad you're alive. You need to learn how to defend yourself. There's pack training now. You can join us, if you're interested. I'll make sure to train you specially." His voice was deeper in his last sentence.
"Omega!" Alpha Keegan's voice from the room made me flinch. " Clean my room first."
"Yes, Alpha."
"Okay sweetheart, you can meet me when you're done." He held my hand and placed a kiss of my knuckles, causing blood to rush to my cheeks.
I had trained all day with Vladimir. It felt really great and the fact that he dedicated his time to serve as my training partner made me blush all day long.
I took a shower and slipped into a beautiful thigh-length dress before heading downstairs.
The large dining table was filled with so many people on it having breakfast. With that, I turned around to return to the room. I had no right to join them to eat on the dining table, I was an ordinary omega.
"Jane!" Vladimir called. Turning to him, I caught his smile and Alpha Keegan's glare. "Sit here. I was waiting for you." He pointed at the empty chair beside him. "What are you waiting for?" he said when I didn't budge.
I hesitated before going to sit on the chair, avoiding staring at Alpha Keegan, though he sat by my side as well.
I could feel myself drooling from the smell and view of the wide variety of foods on the table. I served myself and began to eat.
Halfway through my meal, I felt something brush against my thigh. I lifted my gaze to Vladimir and he winked at me. His smile made me forget that his hand was on my thigh, something I'd normally not be comfortable with.
"I'm certain you enjoyed training today." His voice was husky, making a blush coat my cheeks.
"Yes, it was very nice." I giggled as his hand slowly caressed my thigh. As much as I wanted to take his hand off me to avoid Alpha Keegan's wrath, his charm was holding me back.
We both flinched when something banged against the floor. My eyes traveled from Alpha Keegan's chair that had fallen off to his floor to the burning glare on his face.
"Are you both fucking stupid?" He said through gritted teeth.
"What do you mean?" Vladimir asked like an innocent little child. " Please don't be rude."
I let out a squeal as Alpha Keegan grabbed my arm and started storming away, pulling me with him to the stairs.
