Chapter 107 Chapter 107
I didn't bring lunch for Casper today, but I was at his house because I felt much more comfortable being here.
"You look really amazing today. Did the sun rise from the west? Because something about your smile is pretty suspicious." He chuckled as he handed one of the cups of grape juice to me and sat, smiling.
"I don't know, I guess I'm really excited to see you again. I was really looking forward to it and it put a smile on my face." I was literally grinning from ear to ear.
He smirked. "Of course, it has to."
His gesture made me grin even more. Was that even possible?
Though he had just kissed me, it was like a great confirmation and the relationship between us had just become way stronger after that. "Mae, I've also considered it and I like you too. I like you so much; we have so many things in common, especially a terrible experience with our mates in the past." He sighed.
Were my ears deceiving me right now? I wanted to squeal my lungs out but was holding it back. "Wow, I can't believe this.
"Believe it or not, it's real. Our emotions are definitely real. We know we've had terrible mare experiences, so to avoid any trouble, we can be chosen mates. Once we complete our mate bond, it'll be finalized and unbreakable."
My eyes widened. The progress seemed faster than I expected but sounded way too perfect for me to let him know that we should slow down. I didn't mind being his mate and it was going to finalize my expectations from a man.
"You look like you just saw a ghost." He chuckled. "Of course, your choice is very relevant, if you're not comfortable with anything, you can let me know.",
"Of course I am. It sounds so perfect! I can't believe I'll finally have a mate that I truly like." A teardrop rolled down my face and he wiped it off.
"You don't have to cry."
"You can't understand. My whole life, things have never worked out for me, so the fact that you're the one I chose and you chose me as well, it's the greatest achievement of my life."
"I guess I can say the same too. You're a really sweet person and I enjoy being with you more than being with anyone else."
It only made me cry even more that someone finally appreciated my worth.
"You're a big baby." He teased and hugged me to cry on his shoulders, a moment I was going to tag as one of the greatest memories of my life.

Crystal was still clearly very mad at me. She hadn't even bothered to speak to me and was completely disregarding my existence.
She sat on the bed in her nightgown and winced in pain, holding her back.
"Are you fine?" I quickly held her out of concern, trying to massage her back.
She flinched out of my grip and picked her phone up, typing away on it.
"Crystal," I groaned and snatched the phone out of her hand. I had really expected her to be calmer after I had left the day I confessed to her, but her actions only worsened after that.
She hadn't uttered a word to me and it was frustrating my whole life.
"I admit I was wrong. Please try your best to forgive me. Our baby needs both of us to be together. Please don't continue this silent treatment. It's killing me. You can yell or call me an asshole, just don't be quiet."
She had a frown on and when she opened her mouth to talk, she paused and her eyes became glassy before she burst into tears.
"I'm so pained right now. How could you?" she sobbed. "I trusted you with everything in me and I've always had a boast in me that my husband is the most faithful."
"I'm sorry. It was accidental, I promise. We hadn't established our mate bond yet. Please." I hugged her and was glad she didn't push me away.
"I trusted you, Mason. Words can't express how I feel so terribly hurt." Her voice vibrated from her sobbing and it felt like my heart was being stabbed to listen to her mirthless cry.
"I'm really sorry. It was never my intention to hurt you. I promise you it'll never happen again. It's all in the past, she was in my past. You're my present and my future." I leaned back to cup her face.
"So why are you still hanging around with her?" she pulled away with a frown.
"We only need her for now to get information about Jane. I promise you there's nothing between us. Though she clearly still likes me, I won't betray you, I promise. Please forgive me." I kissed her, glad she didn't push me off. "I love you, Crystal, no one else." I assured her.
She had her eyebrows furrowed but her expression still felt too blank to be read. I connected our lips again, a very gentle kiss, yet filled me with all-round bliss to finally kiss my wife again. I wanted to remain here forever.
~ JANE ~
I was on the sofa in the living room, typing on my phone and chuckled at a new chat from Rylee.
"What's so funny?" Freya asked.
I flinched, startled to see her. Did she always pop out of nowhere?"
oh, it's nothing. I just saw a really cool meme." She glared at me with her eyes drawn together suspiciously. I glanced at the screen and laughed again like there was actually a funny meme on it.
"Do you feel any better now?" she asked and I nodded. She took her coat off for probably the first time and her skin looked so healthy, like something smooth I'd like to run my hand on non-stop.
"I'd have asked what your skincare routine is, but you don't seem like you're in the mood for that." I was referring to the sternness of her face.
"I can help you with making skin care products. We live around so many herbs and flowers, so we can produce these things on our own."
"Really? I'd love to have-" then I remembered that what if she could add something to the skin care products that'll affect me." Actually, it's fine."
"Why don't you want it anymore? You don't trust it or you don't trust that I can make it perfectly well?" She drew her eyebrows together.
'Of course we don't trust them!' Vera rolled her eyes.
"I just thought about the fact that it'll cost me extra time and I don't want to be so dedicated to taking care of my skin. I don't think I'll be able to do that."
My phone chimed, indicating that I had a new chat.
Her attention was still fixed on me, so I locked my phone's screen.
"I'll leave now." I excused myself from her presence before she started interrogating me annoyingly.
I left for the balcony to enjoy the fresh air but was taken aback to see Darion in the balcony. 'Shit. Did I have to come across him?' I groaned to Vera.
'Just head back quickly before he notices.'
Before I could turn back, he glanced at me and waved. "Hey sweetheart."
I giggled and walked into the balcony, internally groaning. "Hey Darion."
"How do you feel today?" he raked his hand over my hair for no good reason and it made me twitch in frustration. I cringed back from him with a small frown.
"What's wrong? You don't feel attracted to me anymore?" he drew his eyes together suspiciously.
Did they seriously tamper with me to make me like Darion?
From my peripheral vision, I noticed Freya passing by and she would most likely be watching me from across the corridor, so I forced a smile at Darion. "What do you mean by that? I have been feeling a strange sensation towards you recently. I don't know why but I'm always thinking about you and I'm starting to consider the second chance mate. It'll be such a great opportunity to forget Keegan." I forced a smile and it made his smile crawl back to his lips.
"Oh, that's great. We can carry it out immediately and get rid of your mark."
My eyes almost widened but I regained my composure quickly.
'stupid you. Why did you have to do the extra talks?' Vera rolled her eyes.
"It'd be amazing, but I think we can take it slowly. You know, I don't want to do anything that'll hurt me again. I want to be patient with making decisions that will have a drastic change in my life."
He nodded in understanding. "I understand, but can I at least get a hug from my future mate?" He spread his arms apart. "Sure." I forced a smile and extended my arms to hug him back.
"I can't wait to get rid of this annoying mark and make you mine." He seemed to be going a little extra with the hug by resting his head against my neck and that made my mark burn so much, he was also touching my back in ways I didn't consider appropriate but I could still sense Freya's presence and didn't want to create any doubt in her mind. I was really holding myself and Vera back from pushing him away for being so annoying but wisdom and patience was so important right now. Keegan just had to forgive me for being this close to someone else and I knew I was going to have to put up with it for a while.
