Chapter 105 Chapter 105
"Sabrina?" Keegan repeated.
"I'm sorry for interrupting your sweet make up time, but of course, I have an important information." The pale woman walked in. " For your safety, you'd have to play along with the Ardolfs because if they know that you're no longer fooled by their crazy magic, then they might harm Keegan or you for knowing a few of their secrets already, especially Stefan" She said, her voice was so soft, like she was going to be killed for speaking any louder than that.
"I don't understand. Who are you? How do you know these?" Keegan asked.
"Well... I live in the same town as the Ardolfs though I just wander around till it's night and fall asleep in the spot I desire so I know them way more than any of you here. If you really want to succeed, you'll have to follow my advice.
"Jane would have to head back there and resume pretending because they'll be planning crazy attacks on this pack, and if you have information from Jane, you can prevent it."
I was thinking about that too, but I don't want to put Jane's life in danger." Keegan said.
"They are the Ardolfs. No matter how terrible they seem to you, they love one another, we all love everyone in our town, and they have been trying to have Jane back for fifteen years, so they wouldn't even harm a hair on her head. They can try to be manipulative with her, but not at the expense of her life. They think they know what's best for her and would try to make sure she has a good life according to their definition of a good life."
"That sounds...." Mason trailed off. "...like a pretty smart approach. You know the Ardolfs have defeated us before and are trying to do so now because we have no idea about their plan, but with Jane's closeness to them, we can succeed."
"Yes, that's correct." Keegan nodded. "Jane?"
"I don't know. It sounds pretty good but I'll have to live away from you for so long?"
"You've stayed away from us for more than a week." Rylee playfully rolled her eyes and I chuckled.
"You can sneak out to check up on us often." He suggested.
"You'll have to be very careful with that as well, as they are very observant." Sabrina chipped in.
"Why are you helping us?" Keegan wondered.
"Well, let's just say Mason and I have an agreement and a condition to complete, right Mason?" She winked at him and Mason's face turned really stern. "I'll take my leave. See you later!" She left the room.
"So what now? Am I supposed to return there immediately?"
"Can't you stay for the night?" Rylee pouted.
"Yeah, you'll just tell them we trapped you here and you were able to break the chain and beat one of us so you could escape." Mason suggested.
"Sounds... good." I was having mixed feelings about this.
"Please Jane, you'll have to remain safe, okay?" His amber eyes were coated in concern as he placed his hand on my waist.
"I will."
"I'll make sure to link you to ensure you're fine. Eat healthily."
"Of course, grandmother would never let me go hungry."
"You have a grandmother?" he asked with a small frown.
"Yes, she's such a really sweet and easy-going person, so amazing." I smiled.
"I missed you so much." He leaned in to kiss the nape of my neck where my mark was and it made a purr escape my throat.
"Okay I think it's best for us to leave. Any more information, please link me." Mason said and Keegan's breath fanned against my neck as he chuckled. "Rylee, let's get going. Crystal said she has something to show to you." He led Rylee out and shut the door.
"I really missed you so much." He sniffed on my neck. "Your scent, everything!"
'Is he always this cute?' Vera beamed.
'Yup, that's our mate. He's mostly grumpy around others, but the sweetest cute little man to his mate.' I stated proudly and wrapped my arms around him. "I also missed you."
"I'm pretty sure you hated me so much, so there's no way you could've missed me." He lifted his head to me.
"No, I did. Now your touch makes me feel really..." I trailed off in a moan. "I can't believe I'd have to leave you again."
"It'll all work out fine. Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't spend so much time with them." He assured me, tucking my hair behind my ear.
"That's great. Right now, I crave your full attention." I nibbled on my lower lip, dabbing my eyelashes at him.
"What kind of attention?" a smirk swam up to his lips.
"I want to feel your full length in me again and scream till the entire pack knows I'm back." My tone was very low and flirty.
He chuckled. "You just read my mind." He got rid of my dress and reconnected our lips.
I loved this man so much. My entire body was spread in tingles and my body was throbbing for his touch and kisses.
I headed back into the Ardolfs building and dropped on the floor, panting.
"Jane, where were you?!" Mom asked and hurried to me as well as other members
"What happened?" Dad asked.
"I'm so tired. I've been running all the way here." I was truly breathless but just wanted to make it more dramatic.
"Where were you? Montgomerys said they were shot and one of them said he thought he saw Keegan before he passed out. What did they do to you?" Freya asked.
"They took me back to their pack and were trying to convince me, stupid Keegan." I said with a frown.
"And what happened? How do you feel about them now? Do you like Keegan again?" Dad asked with narrowed eyes.
"Like? I hate that man so fucking much. How would you expect me to forgive him when I know he just used me?" I contorted my face so much.
"Then why did you stay there for so long?" Freya asked, drawing her crustacean eyes in skepticism.
"They tried to lock me up and didn't want me to come back, they tried to force me to like Keegan again. How can that motherfucking bastard expect me to like him after crushing my life?" I clenched my fists, still panting.
"You're doing a great job, girl!' Vera chuckled.
"How were you able to head out? Keegan is way stronger than you and with their many guards, you couldn't have escaped because you don't possess your magic yet like us." Freya said.
'What's wrong with this woman? She ought to be a detective.' Vera rolled her eyes.
"They had pack training then I was able to run away quickly; I snuck out without the guards' knowledge. I ran all the way here and I'm so exhausted."
"Did you "
"Freya, stop it. Why the heck are you bothering her with unnecessary questions? It certainly hasn't washed off." Mom glared at her.
"What hasn't washed off?" I squinted.
"It's nothing, sweetheart." Dad smiled. "Please head over for a shower. Someone, grab a glass of water for her. We have to be more careful now that they could gain access into our town."
"When is the next attack?" Vladimir asked, taking his mug of coffee from the meeting table.
Once again, those people with long cloaks were surrounding us and they scared me because I now knew that they could tamper with my brain. Stefan was also here this time as well as Mom, Dad, Freya, Darion, and a few more members I didn't really know.
"It's in a week from now." Freya replied to Vladimir.
"And where will the attack take place? It has to have a drastic effect on Keegan and the pack." Stefan said.
'Such a stupid father.' Vera scoffed and I agreed with her.
"Yes, Stefan." Dad said in a cold tone.
"The attack will take place in the eastern part of Dark Stone, towards the town center, because that's one of the major areas of business and revenue for the pack, the banks are also located there. Once we can destroy those places, there'll be a lack of food and there'll be so much loss of properties which can lead to higher crime rate, more poverty, lack of enough funds for Keegan to plan great and professional structures to prevent attack and will affect anything at all he wants to create to prevent attacks." Freya explained.
"That sounds excellent." Stefan nodded.
I listened attentively to how they were going to carry out their plan, nodding my head in agreement to everything they said.
The meeting finally ended then Vladimir and Stefan shook hands with others.
"Nice to see you again, sweetheart." Vladimir complimented as he shook my hand and I forced myself to grin, hoping to form a blush.
I glanced at Dad and Mom and their faces read a strange discomfort but they hid it behind a fake smile at Vladimir.
Everyone took their leave and when Vladimir and Stefan took their leave, I pretended to head out but actually stealthily followed them. Something about them seemed suspicious and I wanted to figure it out.
With Vera's help, I was able to be very sneaky so they didn't notice me and when they got to one of the borders, Stefan smirked at Vladimir.
"We'll only need these morons for a little longer. Just hang on." He said then Vladimir nodded in agreement.
'I think that's enough information to know they'll betray the Ardolfs. 'Vera said and I nodded before sneaking back home.
I was heading to my bedroom and when I passed the door to Mom's room, I walked back to try to eavesdrop on their conversation as well. "We'll have to make it less obvious."
"We're definitely not letting our daughter be given to a stupid man like Vladimir." Dad said. Why'd they want to give me to Vladimir? What the heck? "Yes, but that's according to the agreement. We'll have to maintain that by creating a false hope for them. Don't create any doubt by your facial expression." She said to Dad. "I know, I know." He sighed.
"Just be patient. We only need their assistance for a little longer till we get rid of them from our lives completely."
Okay, that was crazy. Stefan and Vladimir Gray as well as Ardolfs were working together and both wanted to betray one another? Yet they all had one goal and that was to destroy my Keegan. I had to be more observant for more information like this.
I quickly left before anyone caught me eavesdropping.
