Chapter 69 : You Are Such a Bastard!

Chapter 69 You Are Such a Bastard!

Peter had always felt that Frederick had someone in his heart.

Among their group of friends, there was Ethan who got married young, and Benjamin who was a player but never got attached to anyone.

Most of them were playboys who treated women like clothes—wore them out and moved on to the next.

Only Frederick, from childhood to now, had never mentioned any woman on his own, nor shown even a hint of interest in anyone.

Yet occasionally, when certain topics came up, he would reveal something unusual.

There was this inexplicable feeling of "love that could have been, but the moment has passed."

Peter and Ethan used to speculate privately that maybe the woman Frederick liked had died young.

Or perhaps she was older than him and already married?

That was until his sudden marriage.

Only then did Peter figure it out.

Even so, Peter still couldn't understand it.

With Frederick's status and position, any woman he liked should consider it an honor.

Frederick wouldn't even need to lift a finger—just one look, and she'd probably throw herself at him without hesitation.

Why would he need to hide it so carefully, afraid someone might find out?

But now, Peter didn't think that way anymore.

"Frederick, don't tell me you've had your eye on her since she was Rebecca or Mrs. Johnson?"

Peter laughed, "An uncle eyeing his nephew's wife—that's pretty wild! No wonder you kept it so tight, even we didn't know."

As soon as he finished speaking, Frederick glanced over at him.

As if mocking his stupidity.

Thinking of another possibility, Peter froze, mouth half-open.

After a long moment, he looked at Frederick in shock, "Frederick, you're a real bastard!"

Frederick fell silent.

At the ski resort's play area, Rebecca and Alex were having a blast in the curling zone.

The name "curling zone" was Rebecca's idea.

In the afternoon, whether it was taking photos with ice sculptures or the big ice slide, everywhere was crowded.

While wandering around aimlessly with Alex, Rebecca found this wide, empty stretch of ice.

On a whim, she came up with a new game.

She found two ice blocks of similar size, drew a circle on the ice in the distance, and they competed to see whose block could slide into the circle first.

One adult and one child were having so much fun that soon several other kids joined in.

With more people joining, teams formed.

Rebecca became the popular leader that kids loved.

After several rounds, the watching adults cheered and encouraged, while the kids in the game played enthusiastically.

In no time, this undeveloped area of the resort became the most popular spot in the play area.

When Alex was pushed out of the team, Rebecca protectively rushed forward.

Unexpectedly, she ran into someone she knew.

"We want to play, Alex, you go play somewhere else!"

Azalea Gray, wearing a white down jacket, waved Alex away, telling him to move along.

Alex looked furious and was about to charge forward when Rebecca rushed over and blocked him.

"Everyone's playing this game together, why should we leave?"

Rebecca demanded coldly.

Azalea turned around.

Their eyes met, and both froze.

Looking at Rebecca, then at the huffing little boy behind her, Azalea laughed, "Rebecca, didn't expect to see you here? So this is... when you couldn't make it as a poor person, you latched onto a rich guy and started playing stepmom? Not bad, Rebecca, quick thinking!"

Rebecca was stunned, and murmurs started around them.
