Chapter 40 Sexual Happiness
Frederick held her hand, and she felt a natural sense of calm.
When he kissed her, she felt nothing but nervous and shy.
Even sharing the same bed countless times and waking up in his arms every morning didn't feel too uncomfortable—just a bit awkward at most.
But after the brief awkwardness, she felt secretly delighted by the warmth he provided for her feet, all happening in her sleep, so she didn't have to feel embarrassed.
But if Frederick were replaced by Dennis...
Rebecca shuddered involuntarily.
A sense of rejection and repulsion from head to toe.
"I get it."
On the other end of the phone, Isabella couldn't help but laugh. "You're not afraid of men; you're afraid of Dennis, the playboy! Well, at least it proves you're normal, and I won't have to worry about your love life anymore!"
Rebecca's face instantly turned red. "Isabella, you're too much!"
"Are you at the classroom yet? The bell rings in ten minutes!"
Isabella's words brought Rebecca's soul, which had flown away in embarrassment, back to reality.
Throwing out a quick "I'm not talking to you anymore," Rebecca hung up and rushed to the classroom.
She had left in such a hurry last night that her textbooks were still in the dorm.
In the past, a quick shout in the dorm group chat, and whether it was Jessica, Emily, or Sophie, someone would bring her books.
But after the fallout last night, Rebecca had blocked Jessica and left the group chat.
Without her textbooks, Rebecca slipped to the back row when she got to the classroom.
As the bell rang, the professor walked to the podium with a thermos in one hand and a bag in the other, starting the lecture. Rebecca borrowed some paper and a pen, paying extra attention as she took notes.
In the CEO's office of the Windsor Group, Mike noticed Frederick's good mood almost as soon as he walked in.
Every Monday at 10 AM was the company meeting.
The CFO and the Sales Director had to report to Frederick's office at 9 AM.
If there were any errors or omissions in the reports, the entire executive floor would be filled with a tense atmosphere.
So much so that Mondays had a nickname in the executive suite.
Black Monday.
But today, it was as if someone had torn the blackness apart and thrown it in the trash, replacing it with a rainbow.
"Mr. Windsor, the CFO and Sales Director said they'll be up in five minutes to report. The conference room is ready for the 10 AM meeting..."
"No need."
Frederick, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window with a coffee cup, turned to Mike. "I've already reviewed their reports. I've noted the errors and omissions in the email body. Have them make the corrections and report directly in the meeting. No need to come up."
"Got it."
Mike nodded, seizing the opportunity of Frederick's good mood to report the week's important events, knowing mistakes wouldn't be harshly penalized.
As expected, errors were pointed out and corrected immediately, and oversights were casually mentioned.
Frederick's attitude remained calm throughout.
For Mike, this calm was like sunshine breaking through the clouds.
As Mike prepared to leave, Frederick stopped him. "From now on, schedule all business dinners and events from Monday to Thursday nights."
After a brief moment of surprise, Mike understood instantly.
This meant that while Rebecca was staying on campus, Frederick could work late and attend events.
But once Rebecca came home on Fridays, Frederick would refuse all work-related matters and social events?
"Understood."
Mike nodded, noting this significant change in his planner, and left the office.
Soon, cheers of joy erupted from the adjacent office of the secretarial staff.
