Chapter 27 Becca, I'm Here!

Chapter 27: Becca, I'm Here!

Leading the convoy was a sleek black SUV.

Following closely behind were an RV, an ambulance, and several heavy-duty motorcycles, their engines roaring as they sped along.

The bright headlights cut through the night, illuminating the road ahead clearly enough to spot any obstacles or people. Despite the visibility, the SUV maintained its high speed without hesitation.

Seeing the approaching vehicle, a blond man and his friends instinctively stepped back a few paces, intimidated by the scene before them.

The SUV barreled forward.

Their pupils contracted in fear, the blond man's face paling several shades.

There wasn't even time to scream.

Like kites with their strings cut, the men were sent flying by the impact of the SUV, crashing heavily onto the ground.

The SUV screeched to a halt. Frederick jumped out, scooping Rebecca up from the snow and rushing toward the ambulance.

"Frederick..."

"I'm here!"

Rebecca's eyes stung and burned as she struggled to keep them open, desperate to see if it was truly Frederick holding her.

But the warm, wet sensation spreading through her body was becoming more pronounced, and she felt like she was on the brink of being destroyed, her mind drifting and vision blurring.

Clutching tightly to his collar, she could clearly smell the cool sandalwood scent on him.

It was only after confirming that it was indeed Frederick before her that Rebecca let out a faint sigh of relief.

There were chaotic voices around her, but she couldn't hear any of them.

Rebecca only heard the gentle reassurances of "Becca, don't be afraid."

"Mom... Mom..."

Tears slipped down her cheeks as she mumbled incoherently, her consciousness fading.

She felt a sharp pain on the back of her hand, causing her to flinch.

Quickly, she was enveloped in a tight embrace. "Becca, don't be afraid. I'm here..."

Time seemed to blur, and the heat within her gradually subsided. Her body relaxed, and her mind sank into darkness.

Rebecca's tense body slowly softened. Frederick loosened his hold and looked up at the young man beside him.

"She's asleep..."

Sam Nelson rolled his eyes in annoyance. "In the middle of the night, I thought it was some life-or-death emergency, but it turns out to be this?"

With a wry smile, Sam added, "Honestly, you didn't need me here. You could've just taken her home and..."

He didn't get to finish before meeting Frederick's icy, deathly glare.

Sam raised his hands in surrender. "My bad, I was being a jerk. Please, Mr. Windsor, spare me this time, alright?"

Ignoring him, Frederick carefully laid Rebecca on the bed, glancing at the IV drip still running. "When will she wake up?"

"Once the drip finishes, probably in about half an hour," Sam replied, glancing over.

Frederick pulled the blanket over her and gently touched her face.

He turned to Sam. "She didn't drink much. Why are the symptoms so severe?"

When he picked her up, he only caught a faint whiff of alcohol.

It didn't seem like she had consumed a lot.

"The concentration was high!"

Sam shrugged. "I bet she only took a sip. If she'd had a few more, she probably wouldn't have made it out of the bar."

As soon as he finished speaking, the temperature inside the RV seemed to plummet, as if the air conditioning was set to maximum on a freezing day.

Seeing Frederick's expression darken, Sam wisely shut his mouth.

Frederick stepped out of the RV, his face stormy.

The distance from the RV to the bar was only a few yards, but even the shadows on the ground seemed to radiate his murderous intent.

Sam couldn't help but shiver.

Mr. Windsor's newlywed wife had been drugged with a massive dose of aphrodisiac at a bar.

Whoever had the audacity to do such a thing...

And whether Sam would live to see the morning.
