Chapter 205 Retribution Has Come
Alex pulled out a brand new phone watch from his pocket, after endless moments of rustling around.
Frederick looked up at him with a hint of amusement in his eyes. Surprise the last more than a few moments. "So this was the reason you all didn't let me follow you at the mall yesterday? After you all wandered about for as long as you did?"
Alex nodded slowly.
Rebecca's number was the only one present when he opened the watch's contact list.
Frederick had just only just gotten Alex's number saved in it.
The watch vibrated gently with a buzz, and Rebecca's profile picture lit up.
Alex saw Frederick watching him, opened the chat window and saw the message Rebecca had just sent: [Alex, I'm home! I definitely have to show you what my room looks like!]
The watch kept buzzing as Rebecca kept sending him pictures
A full view of the room from the doorway, a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf packed with comics and novels, then a big bed piled with stuffed animals.
They were just photos, but they were enough to make him feel like he was inside the bedroom right then.
Rebecca took special care while she introduced her beloved pet: a Great Pyrenees.
Rebecca took a photo of herself with her eyes happily closed, while she pressed her entire face against the neck of the Great Pyrenees'. [So soft and fluffy, feels amazing. Hugging Big White helps me fall asleep instantly! The next time you and I go shopping, you can definitely pick any stuffed animal of your choice, Alex.]
[Oh, and remember to put the watch on vibrate mode so Frederick doesn't find out!]
She had absolutely nothing to say to Frederick and could even go for days without texting him.
But she was different with Alex. She always had something she was excited to share with him. But he didn't have anything to communicate with, so she had taken it upon herself to get him the phone watch.
Alex saw that Frederick didn't look happy about whatever he read and immediately snatched back the watch from his hand.
Then, instinctively glanced toward the Getty family villa in the distance. Looks like you're in trouble Rebecca.
In the living room of the Getty family villa, Rebecca rubbed her nose as she met Alexa's concerned gaze.
Rebecca took the invitation Alexa handed her and put it away.
"Patrick specifically gave it to you, so that clearly indicates that this exhibition is very professional. Make sure you take your time to look around when you go tomorrow."
Alexa spoke with a clear and gentle tone.
Alexa's eyes lit up when she heard pleasant music from the bamboo basket beside the sofa, and immediately reached inside it to dig out her phone from the pile of yarn.
An unknown number showed on the screen.
And the sight of it made Rebecca's heart skip a beatShe remembered that Frederick had clearly told her that mother's phone could only make calls to Dad, Layla, her, and make Facebook video calls. Any call made to to anyone else wouldn't go through.
Similarly, outsiders couldn't call in either.
So how was it possible for an unknown number to be calling now?
Before Rebecca could react, Alexa had already answered. "Hello... Frederick?"
Rebecca's first thought was that Frederick had tweaked the phone by getting a programmer add his number to Mom's phone as well.
Rebecca's second thought was to look down at her phone.
The screen was still on the chat window where she'd just finished texting Alex.
The most recent line clearly read "so Frederick doesn't find out."
So this was what happened when one got discovered?
Rebecca never dreamed that she'd end up in this situation.
Alexa hung up and looked up, and spoke with a smile, "Frederick said Alex is over at his place playing. He doesn't have experience with kids, and Jennifer moved to the new house, which is kind of far, so he asked if we could help with taking care of the child, and I agreed."
"It's only us three in the house right now, and I bet having two more people will be more exciting!"
Alexa smiled and headed toward the kitchen. "Layla, make some meals that kids would love, will you? We're having guests come over soon!"
Rebecca fell silent.
More than ten minutes later, they heard the sound of care engines outside.
And soon enough, the door bell rang out all over the house.
