Chapter 119 Full of Desire to Survive

Chapter 119 Full of Desire to Survive

Frederick was pushed out of the dressing room by Rebecca.

The door slammed shut. Rebecca turned around, leaning her back against the door, and touched her face.

It was burning hot.

Wasn't Frederick feeling unwell?

Weren't they talking about calling it even?

How did things end up in that chaotic situation just now?

Rebecca couldn't help but cover her face.

Someone knocked on the door, and Rebecca's head snapped up.

Layla's gentle voice came from outside the bedroom door, "Ms. Getty, come down for dinner."

Rebecca let out a breath, "Okay, coming!"

She quickly packed her suitcase, and when she came out of the dressing room, Rebecca didn't forget to check herself in the mirror.

Only after making sure nothing looked off did she go downstairs.

Lunch was late, and on top of that, Frederick had fed her so much. Rebecca didn't feel very hungry and ate slowly, taking small bites.

Frederick ate even more slowly.

Thinking he was really not feeling well, Rebecca looked at him with concern, "Are you sure you don't need to call a doctor?"

Frederick shook his head, "No need."

"Oh."

Rebecca nodded, continuing to sneak glances at him while eating.

Frederick felt helpless.

He thought she would volunteer to say, "Then I'll stay and take care of you."

Apparently, he was overthinking it!

After finishing a bowl of soup, Frederick's complexion looked much better.

By the time they left, he seemed almost back to normal.

After giving high praise to Layla's soup and affectionately hugging her to remind her to take care of herself, Rebecca bounced toward the car.

Frederick looked gloomy.

"Rebecca..."

Watching Rebecca get into the passenger seat, especially cheerful and lively about returning to school, Frederick asked in a low voice, "If Layla and I both fell into a river, who would you save?"

Rebecca froze, stunned.

Of course, she'd save Layla!

Layla couldn't swim.

In this cold weather, at her age, even if rescued immediately, catching a cold would be the least of it, not to mention all of Layla's existing health problems.

Besides, Frederick definitely knew how to swim.

Kids who grew up in wealthy families learned basic survival skills like driving and swimming when they were very young.

In just a few seconds, many thoughts ran through her mind. Rebecca answered with strong survival instincts, "Save you!"

Frederick stared at Rebecca for a long time, as if trying to see whether she was sincere or not. After quite a while, he started the car without comment and drove out of the garage.

The car stopped outside the east gate of Empire University, just as it was getting dark.

Seeing Rebecca look around carefully for a while before cautiously getting out, Frederick's mind filled again with those filthy words from that post.

His hand on the door handle paused for a moment, then slowly withdrew.

Rebecca pulled her suitcase from the trunk, walked around the back of the car, and waved at Frederick, "Frederick, see you next week!"

Noticing Frederick's dark expression, she thought he was feeling unwell again.

Rebecca turned back and walked to the car door.

"Frederick, you need to take your medicine on time and get good sleep. If you still don't feel well, remember to call a doctor to see what's wrong. I'll be checking up on you, you know. And..."

Rebecca's voice was gentle as she carefully reminded him.

Frederick's gloomy mood improved slightly.

Then he saw her break into a smile, "I'll miss you!"

The streetlights suddenly came on.

In Frederick's vast and empty heart, because of Rebecca's words and her bright smile, everything instantly became bright and full.
