Chapter 104 Living Together
Under the night sky, the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.
"They're here..."
Hearing the voice from afar, Rebecca looked up and saw three men and one woman coming out from the private room to greet them.
She had already met Peter - he was cheerful and loved to joke around.
Ethan was the heir of the Scott family, and the beautiful woman in a black dress beside him was his wife, Melissa Hayes.
Rebecca had known about these two for a long time.
Men couldn't understand why Ethan would be so devoted to one woman and get married so early.
Women marveled at Melissa's skills, dying to know how she had made Ethan so completely devoted to her.
Unfortunately, social circles had their barriers, and these two were too far removed from them - there was no social overlap at all.
Rebecca hadn't expected to meet this legendary couple today.
The man at the back wore a coffee-colored suit. He was good-looking, with smiling eyes that curved before he even spoke, giving him an easygoing appearance.
Frederick introduced him: "This is Benjamin."
On the way here, Rebecca had learned from Frederick who they would be meeting tonight.
When mentioning Benjamin, Frederick only said he was a good-for-nothing, his words full of disappointment.
She had expected to meet some overindulgent playboy, but what she saw was completely different from what she'd imagined.
"Hello, Mr. White!"
"Hello, Ms. Getty!"
Benjamin's one sentence earned him several eye rolls.
Frederick's was the coldest of them all.
Unfazed, Benjamin smiled at Rebecca. "Although I only met Frederick a few years ago, during those years studying abroad, we lived together, and went everywhere together. I know him pretty well. If you want to know about his past, or any embarrassing stories, just ask me - I'll tell you everything."
Her mind stuck on his phrase "ate together, slept together, went everywhere together," Rebecca smiled softly and turned to look at Frederick.
The man's face showed rare helplessness. "Don't believe him!"
The group ushered Frederick and Rebecca into the private room.
As soon as dinner was over, Rebecca was pulled away by Melissa. "Let those guys hang out together. You and I can go talk over there."
As she spoke, Melissa reached out and pinched Rebecca's cheek. "Finally, someone to keep me company! Before, I was the only woman, listening to them talk business and economics, or else drinking and playing cards. It was so boring!"
Fair-skinned, beautiful, with long legs and an elegant, striking presence - Melissa was totally the mature beauty type.
She had been so nervous before coming in, but with just one familiar greeting, as if they'd been friends before, Rebecca completely relaxed.
Frederick's words, "I only like you," had been circling in her mind all evening. Thinking about how Ethan and Frederick had been childhood friends, Rebecca asked softly, "Melissa, how many years have you been with Mr. Scott? At your previous gatherings, has Mr. Windsor ever brought a female companion?"
Melissa paused.
Clearly, Rebecca's focus was on the second question.
"I've been with Ethan for 5 years. In those 5 years, I've only run into Mr. Windsor a few times. But I've never seen him bring a female companion."
Even though Ethan was married, whenever he went out for business or attended events alone, young, pretty girls would still throw themselves at him regardless.
Let alone a man like Frederick.
Her gaze sliding over to Frederick, Melissa smiled. "What, got something on your mind?"
Rebecca shook her head. After a long while, she said softly, "I just want to know what kind of woman Alex's mother is. Why didn't Mr. Windsor end up with her?"
That one sentence carried too much information.
Looking at the anxious Rebecca, then back at Frederick, whose back radiated calm composure, Melissa formed a bold guess in her mind.
