Chapter 331 Family Time..UGH

Chapter 331 Family Time..UGH
Almost a month later, they finally had the gathering. It had been fight after fight with the family to get into one place. Her father and mother had to travel back from Itay, which took them almost a week due to delays and cancellations. Lucian had been hiding at his home since Xylia had been taken, not quite right in the head. They had to fight to get him to come to the gathering. Lindaat had to explain to him more than four times that the goddess wanted her to help him. Xylia was the only one who didn't truly fight about it. She was happy to see the twins doing well.

"Well, we can finally get everyone in one place. Granted, two of them are extended family, and I am happy they are coming with the kids. I was shocked that Xylia didn't fight more about it. I think Lucian was the hardest to get to come over for the gathering. I hope we haven't forgotten anyone. Our family is large, and I have been through hell the last few years." Lindaat was out of her bedroom after being bedridden for almost three weeks.

"It is amazing that it has come together like this. I think magic was involved." Aameris winked at her as he spoke. "I just hope it goes well."

"If it doesn't, can I fire them all?" Lindaat laughed as she winked at him.

"Little light, you can't kill the family because they are a pain in the ass." Aameris created a few more tables and chairs in the clearing. "I do believe you have come up with a great idea to get them together. Also great to not have them in the castle."

"Didn't want to risk that." Lindaat turned to look at the setup.

Several tables had been set, with food piled on top. Chairs had been placed around the tables. She figured it would be better to have more than one table. Putting flowers on the tables had been Ailive's idea to make it look like they were trying at least. Lindaat had told her that it would only be something for people to throw at each other. A fire pit had been placed a few steps away from the tables. Elves and fairies were working to make the food for those who ate it.

"Lindaat!"

"Xylia, I didn't think you would be the first to get here." Lindaat smiled brightly at her aunt.

"Love the new hair, not sure how this is going to work, however." Xylia hugged her, then pulled away. "I don't think anyone..."

"We aren't going to go to the negative right now. I know how you feel, and I also know how others feel. Part of the new powers means I see things others don't." Lindaat explained with a sigh. "I can see the links between people. Not my own, however."

"I see, what does that mean?" Xylia asked as Ehlark walked up behind her.

"It means I can see how people feel about others. I can also see the links or bonds between couples and families." Lindaat looked over at Ehlark. "Good to see you again."

Xylia didn't look back at her; instead, she walked away. Lindaat watched her as she moved away, finding a seat further away from the main table. Lindaat frowned at her, wondering what was going on in her mind. When she looked up at Ehlark she sighed.

"She is still hiding from the family." Ehlark sighed, but didn't want to speak ill of Xylia.

"The more she hides, the harder everything will be for her. Everyone loves her, and she can't see it. We all know that she went through hell for those two years. Maybe we should find a good therapist for the family." Lindaat almost laughed at the whole thought.

"In truth, I was shocked she decided to come." Ehlark laughed, "No, that would make it so much worse."

"I thought I would have to fight with her to get her to come. When she agreed right away, I was shocked. Others took much longer." Lindaat sighed as she excused herself to greet others who arrived.

Over the next few hours, she welcomed family, allowing them to find places to sit. She didn't force anyone to sit with someone they didn't wish to be that close to. Shocking to her was that the table with Xylia at it was full already. When she turned to find her sister, she saw her sitting at the second table by herself. Lindaat didn't understand what was going on at the moment. Though she did see mom and dad take the chairs by Ailive, along with Dakaath. Lindaat cleared her throat as she was rather sure that everyone had arrived.

"Family, I am glad that you have come. We are here for many different reasons. One being the fact that Xylia is back with the family, and we need to show her the love we feel. I know that many of you have already done this over the past month or so. It was a battle for us all to find her and bring her back. Another thing we need to speak about is more for one person. Xylia we know that you have been through hell, but you have also been keeping all of us at arm's length. Taking things that people say to heart. Sometimes things are said in a tone that no one even notices.' Lindaat looked around at the family. She saw Xylia stand to leave. "Sit down Xylia."

"No, I will not be shamed for the way I feel," Xylia yelled at her, anger in her eyes.

"I am not shaming you, I am telling you the truth. You are getting upset about something that isn't even true. Pay attention to those around you. Did you notice that most of the family sat at your table? Did you see the upset that Ailive felt when none of them spoke to her first? Did you see the hurt on your own mother's face? You are older than I am, but you are acting like a child. I understand that you are still young, but so am I." Lindaat watched as Xylia came toward her.

Lindaat saw what was coming but didn't move. Xylia smacked her so hard she stumbled back. When she stood up again, putting her hand on her face, she glared at the woman. Putting her hand out, she felt the magic bubbling up, and she let lightning hit beside Xyila.

"You just proved my point. I don't have full control of my powers, and yet you still came over here and struck me. Xylia you need to find someone to speak to about the issues you are having. Anger is understandable with what you went through. The thing is, you have family that is more than willing to help you." Lindaat glared at her.

"Xylia what the hell?" Ehlark came over to her. "Lindaat you need to control that power."

"I-I..." Xylia was shaking as she spoke. "She tried to kill me!"

"Dear daughter, if she wanted you dead, you would be," Rayne spoke from the table.
