Chapter 324 Drama abounds
“Let them heal,” Ehlark told her as he leaned toward her, kissing her arm, then up to her shoulder. “They will understand that you didn’t have a choice.”

“I don’t know about that,” Xylia told him as she clamed with each kiss. “You though, I know you want me here.”

“I will always want you,” Ehlark told her, kissing up to her neck. Then to her ear, over to her cheek. Once he found her lips, he kissed her, almost pinning her to the bed.

“Eharlk, you were my light in the dark,” Xylia whispered on his lips as she kissed him dragging her nails down his bare chest.

“Goddess knows I never gave up on you. I looked for you from the day I found out you went missing.” Eharlk told her, groaning when she kissed his neck, then his chest. “We can’t do this, Xylia.”

“I know,” Xylia told him as she kissed him again. “It wouldn’t be proper.”

Ehlark had to stop this before it went too far, but how did he do that when he knew what he wanted? This woman was what he had wanted for the past two years. Instead of kissing her again he went back to his side, pulling her back to her side. Holding her close to him.

“Get some sleep,” Ehlark told her with a smile. “Know that I love you and I will be here when you wake.”

Xylia giggled when he didn’t try anything else that night, but she knew he wanted more. It took her a while to finally slip into sleep.

“What do you mean she is gone?” Rayne asked when Dimitri came into her room.

“The room is empty. Xylia never had many things here to start with. She took them with her. From what I was told, Ailive asked her why she was there. Xylia didn’t want to upset anyone, so she left. No one thought she would leave the castle, however. Ehlark is gone as well. Seiveril sent word to the forest castle, but they say they haven’t seen them. Pretty sure they could have told the servant not to say they are there.” Dimitri told her with a sigh. He could see that the stress was making Rayne angry. Maybe she needed to relax for a few days. Xylia would be alright as long as she was with Ehlark.

“They are never going to forgive her for this. Even though she didn't do it with malice in her heart.” Rayne sniffled as she tried to stop crying. “I want to go home. I am so sick of it here.”

“What about Maeve?” Dimitri asked, knowing that Rayne wanted the extra time with their daughter.

“I want time with her, but right now I am just too upset. Maybe send her to see my sister.” Rayne suggested as she stood to gather her few things.

“Smart idea, she needs to be away from all this drama right now.” Dimitri left the room to talk to Aarmeris.

Rayne finished putting her things in a small bag when she turned to see Aarshon standing in her room. It wouldn’t do to have her son upset with her as well. Ryane went to her table, sitting at one of the chairs to look at him. Figuring he would sit with her.

“I know you are leaving,” Aarshon told her with a sigh. “This is a huge mess. Ailive isn’t the same person as she once was. Not as carefree. When she talked to Xylia she didn’t mean for her to leave.”

“It didn’t really matter, did it? Xylia left. She doesn’t feel welcome here or in the human world. I know she didn’t go home.” Rayne told him with a sniffle.

“What?” Aarshone was shocked by this news. “I thought she went home.”

“No, she didn’t go home. Dimitri checked to see if she had. Xylia is gone.” Rayne told him with a half sob.

“You know you have other children,” Aarshon told her with a hard tone.

“I do know that, thank you very much.” Rayne stood glaring at him. “I will be leaving. Thank you so much for the worry. Go take care of your children.”

Rayne moved away from him, putting the last of her things in her bag. Once that was done, she walked past Aarshone to head toward the throne room. Once she was there, she found Dimitri. When he saw her face, he could see that she was upset. Not saying a word, he took her hand as they walked through the portal to go home.

“What did you say to her?” Nix asked when she walked into the throne room to say goodbye to Rayne.

“That she had other children,” Aarshon told her as he turned to see a pissed-off look on her face.

“You didn’t say that to your mother.” Nix glared at him.

“Yes, I did, she has two other kids in the human world and one here. Other than Xylia. Why is she so worried about Xylia, who left on her own this time? She almost killed our daughter.” Aarshon told her with a growl.

“Aarshon, don’t you dare growl at me. What Xylia did wasn’t her fault. She didn’t do it because she wanted to. The little hag and her friends forced her to. When I lost my mind for a few days, I would have most likely killed Xylia for it. Now that I know all the details, however, I know better. As do you. Why in the world would you say that to your mother?” Nix spun on her heels, leaving him in the throne room.

“What in the world?” Aarshone watched as she disappeared around a corner.

“You know you really shouldn’t have talked to either of them like that,” Aarmeris told him with a chuckle.

“Dad, I swear I am drowning under all these women,” Aarshon told his father.

As he walked around the throne room, he wondered what he had done wrong. He played the whole thing over again in his mind and sighed. Maybe he was wrong, but he didn’t think so. When he looked up at his father, he wondered what he would have done.

“So you say I did something wrong?” Aarshon asked, feeling like crap now.

“Your mother is worried about Xylia as I am. She disappeared after Ailive said something harsh to her. That isn’t like her. Ehlark is also gone.” Aameris told him, then saw the light go on in his mind. “Then you tell her that she has other children to worry about. Rayne knows about her children and has been getting updates every few days. You just called her a horrible mother.”

“For goddess sake, that isn’t what I said,” Aarshon told him, throwing his arms in the air. “Mom has always done her best. Then what is wrong with Nix?”

“Same thing,” Aameris told him with a laugh.

“You mean I have dug a hole so deep I can’t get out?” Aarshone told him with a groan.
