Chapter 23 Barry's Mother

"Is everything well?" Liam is on the phone.

"Yeah, we're flying there in two days. Does Barry know about this?" Asked Tyler

"No, not yet, but I will once you arrive safely here in California; how is she?"

"She's fine… but I think the Hill family deserves more retribution. Scaring them with hologram sharks and reducing their wealth wasn't enough for their evil deeds at the poor woman." Tyler said anger was evident in his tone.

"I will take care of them after the wedding. For now, I don't want any distractions, there is always a perfect time to deal with the Hill family. My wedding with Barry is the most special day, I don't want to ruin such an occasion for such matters." Liam's litany and Tyler chuckle at that.

"Wow! Man, he changed you a lot, huh?" What a good caring husband to be?" Tyler chuckles from the other side of the line.

"Shut up, bro! Aren't you too under Blaze's claws? Hahaha…" Liam deadpan him

"Oh, come on man, you know Blaze's temper, right? His name truly suits him well. He's the complete opposite of Barry's sweetness. How I wish he was as sweet as Barry sometimes." Tyler complaint

"Don't even think about my Barry, bro."

"Chill man, Barry is only yours. What a possessive husband." Tyler scoffs and Liam chuckles at that. He's just kidding and he knows Tyler and Blaze we're already in a dating stage, it's just Blaze is so hot-tempered and has always loved Tyler under his paws ever since that night at the pub.

Two weeks before the wedding, Liam and Barry were leisurely walking at the park nearby. It's Sunday so Liam decided to grab the opportunity to tell Barry about the things that he found out a few months ago.

Few families were gathering and having picnics, some were walking with their pets, and couples like them minding their own business.

Liam is observing Barry whilst he takes spare glances at some families' bickering and doing some normal family activities.

Barry occasionally blinked his eyes avoiding the view and averted his gaze to somewhere else, which did not escape from Liam's eyes.

Although Barry found a family love in Liam's family, there were still some times that he wanted to feel the family affection from his blood family. How beautiful it is.

"Baby," Liam spoke.

"Yes, babe? Replied Barry.

"I have something to tell you," Liam kneaded Barry's palm that he was holding.

"What is it, babe?"

"Have you ever thought of finding your mom? I mean your biological mom?" Liam suddenly questioned, Barry halted his steps.

"H-how, how did you know about that?"

"Babe, relax okay? I will explain it to you. Let's sit down first." Liam holds Barry's trembling hand and guides him to sit down on the bench near them beneath the tree.

"Could you tell me what you know about your mother? What did they tell you about her?" Liam asked sincerely

Barry heaved a deep sigh and kicked the pebbles on the ground before he spoke, recollecting the past.

"Back then, I didn't know that I was not the biological son of Mrs. Emma Hill. When I was 8 years old, I heard my dad and my stepmom argue about something which I couldn't recall the details of. Mrs. Hill said that I don't have the right to inherit any of Hill's wealth because I am just a bastard. I confronted my dad at that moment and they told me about my so-called biological mother.

They said my mother seduced dad and drugged him. They said I was the result of my mother's immoral deeds.

They said she left me in the hospital on the same day after she gave birth to me. My dad and Mrs. Hill took care of me and hid my real birth mother in the public. They fake my birth records and from then on, Mrs. Hill was the one who gave birth to me. That's what everyone knows.

I hated my biological mother when I learned about her, so I never bothered finding her since she abandoned me first. But sometimes I wonder if she was still alive, does she miss me? Does she feel guilty for abandoning me? If she didn't leave me and took care of me instead of the Hill, maybe my life would be different. Maybe I don't have to suffer those humiliations.

Though I have longed for a mother's affection all my life, I don't want to know her now." Barry's lengthy explanation.

Barry didn't notice his tears already trickling down his cheeks while talking. Liam wipes his tears with his thumb and kisses him on the forehead

"That's not what happened baby, your mom didn't leave you. She loves you and she is longing for you too. Trust me," said Liam sincerely while staring into Barry's moistened hazel eyes.

"What do you mean, babe?" Barry replied in confusion

"They told you the opposite side, baby. Your mom is a decent woman, she was once working at your dad's company. Her name is Lauren Wang.

Your dad is the one who drugged her and impregnated her. After Mrs. Hill found out, they argued and decided to take you away from her the moment she gave birth to you. The Hill was afraid your mom may taint the Hill reputation; So they came up with a plan.

They hid your mom after she gave birth to you. And when she recovered, they made up false accusations and charged your mom. Your mom was convicted in a different city because of false accusations that the Hill family constructed.

And the most awful thing they did was lock your mom in a mental institution. It was ordered by Emma Hill." Liam long explanation

Barry was wordless, he couldn't believe what he heard just now. He trembles with an unfathomable mix of emotions. Anger arose in him, anger for the Hill family.

"B-babe? I–Is... that true? My... my mother, my mother…." Barry can't speak anymore, his tears were racing down his cheeks and his chest felt like it was going to burst and he couldn't breathe properly.

"Sshh, breathe out baby, everything will be fine. You will meet her soon, very soon baby," Liam hugged Barry while rubbing his back trying to calm him down as Barry was crying hysterically.

Liam already knows Barry will be heartbroken after finding out the truth but he has every right to know the truth and accept his mother. He knows Barry was longing for her even though Barry didn't show it. That's why Liam asked Tyler and Blaze to find out about Barry's mother. Liam will do and give anything and everything for Barry's happiness. That's how precious Barry is to him.

The next day Liam brings Barry to the hotel where his mother is currently staying.

"Are you ready?" Liam asked and Barry nodded. Tyler opened the door and they got inside.

A middle-aged woman sitting on the couch across Blaze's back facing Barry and Liam. There were few strands of gray hair visible on the lady. Barry's chest is thumping rapidly, although he did practice some possible approaches to his mother; Barry can't help but still feel nervous.

Liam held his hand and pressed it, giving him the courage. They walked near them and Barry couldn't look at his mother properly, he didn't know what to do. He doesn't know how to act, he doesn't know how to start a conversation with his mother whom he didn't know for the rest of his life, not until just now. He just stood there motionless.

Lauren took the initiative to speak first, trying so hard to not break into tears.

"Are you Barry?" Lauren stood up and asked. Although Blaze and Tyler already told her everything about Barry and Liam, this is the only way she finds to initiate the conversation.

Upon hearing her melodious voice, Barry's tears were already streaming down.

"Y-Yes," he tried his best to talk without stammering.

"Can I hug you? She asked and Barry nodded. They couldn't deny their longing for each other.

The motherly loved Barry was longing for all his life and the mother who never got a chance to see and touch his child.

Liam, Blaze, and Tyler decided to go to the dining room and leave them alone for them to have some time to get to know each other.

Liam wipes his tears, he was happy for his baby and at the same time wanted to crush down the Hill family for separating the mother and son and for making his baby's life miserable for a long time.

"Hey, are you crying bro?" Tyler tapped Liam's shoulder.

"Oh, shut up!" Liam swatted Tyler's hand.

"What about me? Are you not gonna comfort me? Mmpp!" Blaze sobbed and wiped his tears. He was so happy for Barry and Lauren.

Tyler scratches his nape and hugs Blaze then kisses him on the forehead.

"There, there, I'm sorry honey. Hm?" Tyker coaxing Blaze and Liam grabbed some crumpled napkins that he uses for wiping his tears and snots earlier and flung them to Tyler and Blaze

"You two stop being lovey-dovey in front of me, have some consideration," Liam grumbles, giving them death glares.

Tyler and Blaze just laugh at him.

"Consideration my ass!" Blaze scoffed. "As if you didn't devour Barry in front of us! Alas…" Blaze then captured Tyler's lips kissing him torridly right before Liam's wide eyes.

"Shameless!" Liam mumbles covering his eyes with a table napkin as he didn't want to witness the scene.
