Chapter 154 154

Chapter 154 154
ROBYN

“I’m Abraham,” Hanna revealed. Pride exuded in her tone. Of course, she was.
I blinked for a moment. It all made sense why they were always two steps ahead of us. Terzo and Spade allowed her to walk free for the thought that she was a nobody but a broker.
“Is that supposed to mean something?” I arched my eyebrows. Of course it did. I just wanted to piss her off. “Is that why you changed your hair? Dark hair looked good on you than this blonde.”
“How stupid do you think I am? Your husband and the mafia fell for my lie. I’m a spy.” She chuckled. “I learned the art of lies, manipulation, and deceit. I deceived people and gather intel for a living. I was good at my job. When I said I was a broker, they believed me, and your husband even let me go for the thought that he owned my life. I made him believe that he was in control.”
I snorted. “Or maybe he made you believe what you wanted to believe.”
Her eyes narrowed into slits. “But look where he is now? He has just become my puppet. And when I find that pregnant bitch, I will cut, spread her open, and take her unborn child out of her and train it to be a good soldier.”
I shook my head in anger. “You can’t get away with this. All of you, criminals. You’d better kill me now, or I swear I will tell the world—”
“No one will believe you, my dear. You’re a nobody.” She was right, and it hurt.
My chin trembled, and they just watched us like we were in a reality TV show.
“Now, let’s have some fun, shall we?” she told her boards or whoever they are. When she nodded at the man behind Spade, my back instantly stiffened.
“What are you doing?” The panic was thick in my voice.
“Give him a gun, Razic,” he ordered the dark-eyed man, and that asshole acted without hesitation.
My pulse started to race as I felt like I knew where this stupid game was going. I’d seen it a thousand times. She was about to make us do Russian roulette.
When Spade didn’t react or refused as the man placed it in his hand, allowing him to grip the handle.
Then Hanna went to Spade. Just watching her touch him made my blood boil. My entire body shook in anger. “Do you know who that man is?”
“Spade, don’t do it! Whatever she asks you to do, fight it! Snap it out. You’re not a killer. You’re not one of them!”
“Don’t do it, son. Please?” Sean begged, twisting his wrists free. “You’re not a monster. Do you hear me? Don’t take this matter into your own hands for revenge. You’re better than this.”
“Remember my voice. Remember that face, the same face that inflicted you pain, carved those scars on your back. That’s him. He should pay for the childhood trauma he’d caused you. He’s the monster, Spade. It’s time you take retribution for what he’s done to you.”
“He doesn’t remember your voice, bitch! Compulsion isn’t real. Psychological coercion and hypnosis are myths. So dream on!” Or maybe I should just shut up. What if Spade was only cooperating to stop the torture?. What if he knew what he was doing?
I stared at him closely, but he never met my gaze.
“Can you make her shut up?” she told the other man.
The blond came here right away, pointing a gun at my head. “Stop talking, or I will blow up your brain.” Something glinted in his eyes as he said those words, like a controlled effort reflecting in his dark gaze that sent me a message not to fight it.
I swallowed hard and choked at my own fear.
“Let’s continue. Spade, listen to my voice. That man over there is the same man who tortured you in the basement. He treated you like an animal. He starved you and beat little Spade’s skinny body.”
“I didn’t do such a thing,” Sean denied her accusation.
“Spade, look at me!” I said through gritted teeth as I twisted my wrists, which hurt a lot. “Look at me! She’s manipulating you. You can’t be the judge and the jury. You don’t hurt people. You save people, Spade!”
“You can’t force a memory in his head that didn’t happen,” Sean told Hanna.
“Oh, I can, and I did. He believed me. He believed you tortured him, and he’s up for vengeance.” She turned to Spade. “Right, Spade? Do it, darling, and you’ll be greatly rewarded. You can choose a beautiful virgin girl to please you.”
I swallowed down the bile rising in my throat at the thought of Spade taking an underage girl. Even if he didn’t know what he was doing, it still sickened me.
“This isn’t a sci-fi movie, Hanna. Snap it out. Live in reality. You’re not the hero here. You’re the supervillain!” I could yell at her all day, and she just laughed at me. She knew she was getting on my nerves, and she was winning. She was a narcissistic psychopath. “Spade, don’t listen to her, please? You’re stronger than being one of her spawns. Asshole!”
When Spade didn’t answer, she cupped his head and kissed him on the lips. I almost gagged as I forced back down the pain of watching her manipulate my husband.
“You, pig.” Tears rolled down my cheeks.
“I study him. I even went to see Rachel in prison. When Randy didn’t cooperate and started talking there, I paid someone to shut him up,” she just confessed to another crime.
“You’re a monster!”
“Hey, look at me!” Sean snapped me out. “It doesn’t mean anything, Robyn. Stay strong. Don’t give up.”
I nodded at Sean, even though he was as hopeless as I was. I was glad I wasn’t alone. It was unfair for him, but he was here anyway.
“Now, you get your chance. Take it, Spade. Point that gun at the man whom you trusted once, but took advantage of your innocence. He hurt you. The scars on your back are a reminder of what he did to you. Now I want you to take a deep breath, aim that pistol, shoot him, or I will order Gant to shoot that woman over there. Do you know her? Or do you want to kill that woman, too? You pick which one to go down first.”
Spade slowly looked at her and shook his head like he was under her spell.
“Good. She doesn’t mean anything to you, but if I shoot her, would you stop me?”
“Yes. I guess.” His answer was automatic. “She’s not the one who hurt me.”
“Unfuckingbelievable.” I shook my head in disbelief. Disappointment was crushing in my chest.
“Now shoot the man sitting in front of you, or I will kill that woman, and her blood will be in your hands, Spade.”
“Please, knock it off! You’re not a murderer. They are.” I rocked my chair to make a noise to distract him, but it seemed that he was too far gone.
No, I didn’t believe that. I shook to cry. He was still there. He was only playing his part.
“How long is it gonna take, Hanna?” an old man from the third chair asked. He was an investor who was allegedly sexually harassing women, but because he had money, those complaints were dismissed.
“Have patience, James,” Hanna replied. She wasn’t impressed with the interruption. I could see it in her rigid posture.
“Spade, if Sean dies, you won’t feel the same anymore. Taking someone’s life will haunt you for the rest of your life. No matter how horrible he was before, he’s served his sentence. You’re not an executioner. Don’t let those assholes and a bitch manipulate you. Once you kill him, they will either frame you for murder or kill us three and throw our bodies in the river. Do you want that?”
“Can we stop playing this game already?” Hari annoyingly asked Hanna. “Just kill them all. This meeting is more important than their pathetic lives.”
My eyes widened a bit. Why I wasn’t so surprised?
