their egos
Henry’s P.O.V. (Continued)

She was already 20 and she should understand our standing and our benefits instead of throwing tantrums here and there.
“For the family’s benefits, if I have to sacrifice your happiness for keeping the throne for myself, I will not hesitate. You already know that the second branch of our family is eyeing the throne and Sylvester has been trained to challenge me before my coronation. So, yes, consider winning Theo’s heart as helping me keep my throne.”
I knew that I shouldn’t have involved her matters to politics, but being a royal princess is not only about getting whatever you want. This is also about sacrificing your happiness and your likings for a greater cause.
“Are you asking me to…. To.” She couldn’t complete the sentence as she choked on her voice, but I understood.
She was stunned, but now was the time she faced the reality.
She had to come out of her fantasy bubble and fulfill her duty as princess and my sister.
“I don’t want to be rude with you, Helena. I love you, and you know that, but sometimes, we have to make some sacrifices.” I said to her calmly.
Her tears rolled down her cheeks, but like in the past, I didn’t go to her and comfort her.
This trip is not only about making Rhea fall for me but also about assessing the situation here.
“Go back to your suite, Helena. Enjoy the comfort for a few more days until you join Rhea as her trainee.” I instructed her.
Her eyes showed hurt and the pain of betrayal.
She didn’t utter a word but stormed out of the room, crying silently.
I felt a sharp pain in my chest, but I controlled myself.
“She is still a baby, Henry. You shouldn’t be too rude with her.” Sniffer, my wolf, scolded me and I scoffed.
He was also ambitious like me but a little softie when it came to Helena.
I stayed on the balcony for a good amount of time, letting the warmth of the air cool my mind down.
“Her wolf is not someone who will submit so easily.” Sniffer remarked in a low voice after I opened my eyes again.
“What’s the fun of making someone like her submit to you so easily?” I asked him arrogantly, feeling amused by the ideas that filled my mind about how to make her submit to me.
“I still don’t understand. She is just an omega, like her father. Yet her wolf is that strong. How?” Sniffer was amused, putting his snout on his crossed paws in front of him.
“This is interesting, but I am more amused about her hatred towards Theo.” I replied, looking at a lonely flying bird high in the sky.

Theo’s P.O.V.

“I don’t know what this sibling couple is thinking, but I am not getting a good feeling about the whole situation, Theo.” Nathan said to me worriedly while finishing the last batch of the new weapons that we received today.
Dad had ordered more weapons in order to be ready for any kind of attack on us.
I took a deep breath and signaled the warriors standing at a distance to take the box away.
We both sat down on the chairs after they removed the box from the table.
Another warrior brought two mugs filled with whiskey for us and put them on the table.
It was a long day, and I was feeling tired by now.
“He is here for Rhea.” I told him solemnly.
He choked on his drink and coughed hard while looking at me in shock.
“He has set his eyes on her when she visited the royal pack a few weeks ago.” I explained and his eyes widened in shock.
"He is also here to assess how big a threat we are to his claim on the throne. I heard that second branch is also raising someone in secret to claim the throne." I added when I remembered this information.
“But there is no way that he will take her as his chosen mate, will he?” he asked, adding his own speculation.
“Rhea has her own mate. She doesn’t need to be someone else’s chosen mate.” I barked, feeling annoyed by his remark.
“Why are you yelling at me?” he asked annoyingly and coughed a little before taking another gulp of the liquor.
I scoffed and gulped down a full mouthful of liquor from my mug.
We have a strong hold on our liquor consumption. So, drinking two or three mugs doesn’t do a thing to us.
“Even if she has a mate somewhere out there. I doubt that he will accept her.” He remarked again, and I frowned.
“Dude, she doesn’t have wolf. Who will want a mate without a wolf?” he added, and my grip on my mug’s handle tightened.
“Now you are angry, huh? Why don’t you tell him that it was you who killed her wolf?” Knight yelled, sounding pissed but the venom in his voice made me wince a little.
“Yeah… she has no wolf, and yet a pure beta blood like you can’t defeat her, not even in his wolf form,” I taunted him angrily, and he stopped drinking, staring at me blankly.
I leaned on the table and looked at him with amusement, still angry, and didn’t try to mask my anger.
“Tell me, Nathan. How many betas in this world have been trained by an omega?” I asked him with a taunt evident in my voice.
“Speaking of which, no alpha has also been trained by an omega, and no royal blood seeks to be trained by an omega. So, yeah. Being wolf-less is not a disadvantage for her. In fact, this is our good luck or else can you imagine how powerful she will be if her wolf surfaces at any time?”
I didn’t want to be so sarcastic with my best friend but his disdain towards Rhea rubbed off on me in the worst way.
She is one of the best warriors in our world, and high-rankers from different packs line up in front of our pack to be trained by her.
Still, she was loathed because of the absence of her wolf.
This only showed that this is their ego, which doesn’t want them to accept that she is far better than them in every aspect.
"Yeah... she is much better than you in every aspect too." Knight remarked sarcastically, but I paid no attention to him.
Nathan was pissed but he didn’t utter a single word.
“Finish the drink, Nathan. We still have to take an evening stroll with Prince Henry.” I said to him and finished my mug in one go.
“Nathan, Theo. I have been looking for you guys for long. What are you two doing here?” I groaned angrily and cringed my nose in disgust when the strong smell of Natalie’s perfume hit my nostrils.
