royal request
royal request
Rhea’s P.O.V.
“We received a mail from the king himself. He stated that Princess Helena will stay here, in our pack, for the next six months, till her birthday, to be trained by Rhea,” Alpha Hunt told us with a serious expression but the last part of the statement took me off guard.
“What does he mean by ‘I will train Princess Helena?’” I asked him in a confused tone, and he took a deep breath.
He didn’t hide his disappointment while looking at me.
“It means that you can’t go to those packs to train their warriors, Rhea. Princess Helena and the king have specifically mentioned you,” he explained but it made me widen my eyes in disbelief.
“How can the king decide something like this? This part of the kingdom has been under constant attacks for the past ten months, and we need to strengthen our security system, which also includes training our warriors. The royal pack already has trainers like Armaan. Why does she need to come here?” I was literally confused.
“Are you that desperate to get out of the pack, Rhea?” Theo asked me mockingly, but I didn’t look at him.
“If you allow me, Alpha, I would like to talk to the royal administration on this,” I asked Alpha Hunter in a stern voice.
I had control over my emotions, but Theo’s presence in the room was getting on my nerves now.
“I am sorry, honey, but Princess Helena is already on her way to our pack.” He replied to me, apologetic and angry at the same time.
I clenched my jaw while staring at him.
He wasn’t forcing me to do anything against my wishes, and that’s why directing my anger on him will be a foolish thing.
I could have backed out the next second he had proposed something this stupid, but this wasn’t him.
I had a hunch that it was Prince Henry’s idea.
That man was a bad news, and now I've got this very well.
“Where will she stay, Alpha? We need to arrange for her stay as quickly as possible if she has to stay here,” Natalie asked in a serious tone.
“That’s the second problem here.” Alpha Hunter replied with a grim expression. I just listened to them while trying hard to keep my anger and disappointment under control.
“She requested a room in the pack house as she doesn’t want to be treated like royalty here.” He added and I perked my ears up.
“What? Here?” Natalie was astonished by the request, but I wasn’t.
“Even if she doesn’t want to be treated as royalty, she needs to stay in a decent room, not …. Not in a room where generally a non-mated warrior stays.” Luna Emily asked in a serious tone.
“And we don’t have any decent room vacant in the pack house right now,” Natalie spoke again, and I furrowed my brows.
I didn’t want to dwell on her behavior, but she was completely behaving oddly right now.
“Then what to do now?” Alpha Hunter asked Luna Emily, but Natalie once again chimed in, interrupting Luna Emily.
“Actually, the room in which Rhea stays is also decent enough for Princess Helena’s stays.” I raised my brows in surprise at her suggestion.
“It’s not happening, Natalie. Rhea has a lot of things to take care of, which is only possible if she stays here.” Alpha Hunter immediately rejected her suggestion, but my eyes lit up.
“I beg your pardon, Alpha, but I think Natalie is right.” I said to him with the same detached voice that I always used during meetings.
“No, Rhea.” Alpha Hunter immediately refused but I shook my head lightly.
“Listen to me first, Alpha.” I asked him, and he huffed but silently gave me a nod.
“I have my own apartment near the administrative building. I can shift there at any time. That place is not far from all the important places, and my original plan before this news was to shift my stuff to that apartment before going to the Moonlight Pack,” I explain in the same detached voice.
“But why did you need to shift your stuff? It’s not like you are not coming back,” Nathan asked me in a confused voice.
I clicked my tongue and took a deep breath.
“Right now, we have something more important than this, Beta Nathan.” I addressed him formally, pointing back to the issue with Princess Helena.
He gave me a pointed look, but I didn’t pay attention to him.
“I opposed Rhea vacating her room. I need her like almost at any time.” Luna Emily put her point in a stern voice.
“I also opposed.” I raised my brows in surprise when Beta Nate also voiced out.
“Dad.” Natalie exclaimed in shock and disappointment.
“Instead, I think Natalie should vacate her room. She has the best room on the third floor with appropriate lights and with a small study.” Beta Nate proposed and Natalie gasped in shock.
I didn’t know what was wrong between them, but Alpha Hunter immediately agreed to his suggestion.
“I also thought about the same.”
“Yes, Natalie’s room is in good condition too. We renovated her only a month ago. Also, Rhea’s room only has some basic furniture, and the lighting is also not good there.” Nate’s mate, the female beta, Millie, spoke this time with a serious expression on her face.
I glanced at Natalie, and I scoffed internally at her reaction. She was so angry that her whole face had turned red.
“I am not going to leave my room,” Natalie protested stubbornly.
“She has her eyes on that pck mate of ours,” Moon grumbled, and my eyes widened in shock this time.
I didn’t see this coming.
“This is not up to you, Natalie. This is about the reputation of our pack,” Luna Emily spoke to her this time, anger and disappointment reflecting in her voice.
“But that room is on Alpha’s floor.” Natalie still protested, earning a low and threatening growl from Alpha Hunter.
Natalie might have their spoiled princess because none of their family had any other girl, but there is no way that Alpha Hunter would tolerate any disrespect to his mate.
He is very protective of Luna Emily.
“If he has produced a protective mate like him,” Moon grumbled again and I choked on my saliva, lowering my eyes to hide my embarrassment.
