Chapter 52
VIVIAN POV
“You can’t pull that trigger can you?” Martha asked, her eyes locked on mine.
I smirked, a sense of malice creeping into my voice. "I can as well start with your chosen daughter-in-law," I said, the words dripping with venom.
As I spoke, I raised the gun, pointing it directly at Mira. Her eyes widened in terror, and she took a step back, her hands rubbing her big stomach “Are you crazy? Kian stop her” she yelled.
Martha’s face went white, her eyes fixed on the gun in horror. "No, Vivian dont," she whispered, her voice trembling. "She is pregnant."
I laughed, "Why not?" I sneered. "She's just a pawn in your games too, isn't she? A means to an end. I am going to give the rules in this mansion, you might as well get out now if you wont accept” I said my eyes locked on Martha’s.
She nodded “Fine...Have it your way”.
I smiled, a sense of triumph on my face, and dropped the gun to the floor. "Worthless guards," I sneered, shaking my head. "Even I could manage to collect that weapon from you. You're fired."
Martha's eyes widened in shock, and she took a step forward. "He's the head of security, grandfather hired him," she protested.
But I just laughed. "That means nothing to me," I said, my voice cold. "He's clearly incompetent. Did I not tell you not to interfere in anything I do or say?”.
Martha stepped back.
The guard's face turned red with anger, but he said nothing. He knew he had failed in his duty.
I folded my arms across my chest, my eyes scanning the room as I pointed at each of the guards and maids one by one. "All of you, drop your uniforms," I commanded, my voice firm and authoritative. "Martha will be the one to pay you. Collect your pay from her and get out. You have just 30 minutes to vanish."
The guards looked at each other in shock, then back at me, unsure of what to do. But I just glared at them, my expression unyielding.
Slowly, they began to move, shedding their uniforms and revealing their plain clothes underneath. They looked like ordinary people now, not the intimidating figures they had been just moments before.
Kian stepped forward "I will be the one to do it," he said, his voice deep and husky, the he brought out his cheque book.
The guards hesitated for a moment, then began to file forward, collecting their paychecks and stuffing them into their pockets. They cast nervous glances at me, but I just watched them, my arms still folded across my chest.
As they left, I could feel a sense of power rising up inside me. I was taking control, and no one was going to stop me.
When the last guard had gone, I turned to the one I hired. "Lock the doors," I said. "We don't want any unexpected visitors."
They all nodded.
After all the drama I had performed, I walked back upstairs, feeling exhausted. The adrenaline that had fueled my actions was starting to wear off, leaving me drained and spent.
As I climbed the stairs, I could feel Martha and Mira's eyes locked on me. They were watching me, trying to understand what had just happened.
I reached the top of the stairs and turned to face them. Martha's eyes were wide with fear, while Mira's were narrowed in suspicion.
"What's really going on?" Martha asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
I smiled, a tired smile. "I'm taking control," I said. "This is mine now, do not make me keep repeating myself”.
Mira raised an eyebrow. "And what about us?" she asked.
I shrugged. "And why should I care about you people, You're either with me, or you're against me. The choice is yours."
Martha smirked “I was never with you and i will never even waste my time pretending i am with you just to live in this mansion” she spat.
“Then move out” I said with with a smirk on my face.
I turned and walked away, leaving them to make their decision.
KIAN POV
Sighed..
Martha's face turned red with anger as she yelled at me, "You can't even stop her!" Her eyes blazed with accusation, and her fists were clenched at her sides.
I raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "What? Why would I stop her?" I asked, my voice laced with sarcasm.
My mother's expression faltered, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of guilt in her eyes. But it was quickly replaced by her usual composure.
Mira, who had been watching the exchange with interest, suddenly clutched her stomach and screamed, "Oh damn, my stomach... the baby!"
I rolled my eyes, unimpressed. I knew she was putting on an act, trying to distract us from the real issue.
"Save it, Mira," I said, my voice dripping with disdain. "We're not buying it."
But my mother rushed to Mira's side, concern etched on her face. "Oh, Mira, are you okay? Do you need to sit down?"
I shook my head, incredulous. "Mom, have you really forgotten how you treated her back then in this mansion? Even though you knew she was the one I chose?"
My mother's expression turned cold, and she glared at me. "How dare you bring that up," she hissed.
I laughed, a bitter sound. "I will not be around for a while,I dont want to see you in any of my suites or hotels, just stay home here with Mira. She needs you more."
Mira, still clutching her stomach, looked up at me with a mixture of fear and admiration in her eyes. I knew she was starting to realize that I wasn't the pushover she thought I was.
Mom, on the other hand, looked like she was about to explode. Her face was red, and her eyes were bulging with anger.
"You're going to regret this," she spat at me.
