Chapter 48

VIVIAN POV

After my conversation with my dad, I walked back downstairs after I dropped the black card. I heard the door bell ring and I wondered who it might be.

As I walked towards the door, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. Who could be visiting me early this morning. I opened the door, and my heart skipped a beat as I saw Julian standing there, his piercing blue eyes gazing into mine.

I breathed in deeply, trying to calm my racing heart. Julian was the last person I expected to see, especially after our last encounter. We had parted ways on uncertain terms, and I wasn't sure if he was here to make amends or stir up more trouble.

"Julian," I said, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in my stomach.

"Hey," he replied, his voice low and smooth. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important."

I shook my head, feeling a sense of trepidation. "No, it's fine. What brings you here?"

Julian stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for something. "I wanted to talk to you about something important." he said, his voice filled with a sense of determination.

"Okay," I said, trying to sound nonchalant despite my growing unease.

Julian took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto mine. "Make the CEO of the company”.

"Julian, I.. think we’ve had this conversation before." I started, but he cut me off.

"Do you really not want to get back at Martha and Kian for what they did?" he asked, his voice filled with desperation. "I know you cant trust me, but I am assuring you I will do better than Kian”.

I took a deep breath “Julian, please dont disturb me about this anymore, stop visiting me. Let their be limits please”. I said

Julian's expression changed in an instant, his eyes narrowing into slits as he sneered at me. "Don't you think you're going to regret turning me down?" he spat, his voice harsh and cold. "I can make Kian suffer for what he didn't do."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I moved closer to him, my eyes locked on his. "Is this a threat?" I asked, my voice firm and steady.

Julian replied with a cold smirk, his lips curling up into a cruel smile. I knew that smile, it had a very big meaning. He was capable of doing whatever it took to get what he wanted, even if it meant hurting someone innocent.

I stood my ground, refusing to back down. "You wouldn't dare," I said, my voice low and even.

Julian chuckled, the sound sending chills down my spine. "Oh, I would," he said, his eyes glinting with malice. "And I will, if you don't do what I want."

"Leave now, Julian," I said, my voice firm. "And don't come back."

Julian's smile grew wider, his eyes flashing with anger. "Think about it again." he spat, before turning and storming out of the room.

I watched him go, my heart racing with fear. I knew I had to do something, to protect myself and Kian from Julian's threats. But what? It’s time to enter the mansion.

As I stood in the grand foyer of my father's mansion, I felt a mix of emotions swirling inside me. I had made the difficult decision to leave, to start a new chapter of my life, but the thought of walking away from the only home I had ever known was almost too much to bear.

I took a deep breath and gazed around at the opulent decorations, the crystal chandeliers, and the priceless artwork that adorned the wall. But now, it was time to go.

I picked up my bags, packed with a few select clothes and belongings, and made my way to the front door. I hesitated for a moment, my hand on the handle, as I looked back at the mansion. The thought of leaving my father's house, of leaving him, saddened me. But I knew I had to do this.

With a determined smile, I locked the doors behind me and walked out into the bright sunlight. The fresh air hit me like a slap in the face, invigorating me, and I felt a sense of freedom wash over me.

I made my way to my car, parked in the driveway, and slid into the driver's seat. I started the engine, feeling the purr of the motor beneath me, and put the car in gear. As I pulled away from the mansion, I felt a sense of liberation, of release.

I stopped the car and made a call through one of my long time friend, waiting for the person on the other end to answer. "Hello?" a voice said.

"I need your help," I said, getting straight to the point. "I need you to get me some loyal female workers. Those who are ready to work and they will get paid."

"What kind of work? if I may ask" the voice asked.

"I'm looking for house maids," I replied. "Ladies who are honest, hardworking, and discreet. I need people I can trust to work in my mansion."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then the voice said, "Okay, I can help you with that. But it's not going to be easy to find women who fit your criteria."

"I'm willing to pay top dollar," I said. "I just need people I can trust."

"Alright, I'll get started on it," the voice said.

I hung up the phone and leaned back in my car sit.

I started the car and drove up to the mansion, expecting to be greeted by the familiar sight of the grand entrance. But to my surprise, I was stopped at the gate by two burly guards.

"What's this about?" I asked, feeling a sense of annoyance.

"I am sorry, Miss Vivian," one of the guards said, "but the big Madam gave orders not to let you in."

My smile grew wider as I heard the guard's words. "She said so?" I asked, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

The guards nodded in unison, their faces expressionless.

I looked up at the balcony and saw Martha, smiling sweetly through the window. I knew she was behind this, trying to keep me out of the mansion.

“Seems she is well prepared for this” I said to myself and without another word I walked back into the car and drove off.
