Chapter 42

VIVIAN AND KIAN

"It's already past 10," I said, glancing at my

wristwatch.

Kian nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "I can take

you home," he said, his voice low and husky.

I waved my hand, rejecting his offer. "No, it's

okay," I said, trying to sound casual. "i came here with my car."

Kian raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "Are

you sure you can drive alone tonight?" he asked, his voice filled with

concern.

I nodded, feeling a sense of independence wash over me.

"Yes, I'm positive, I can." I said, trying to sound firm.

Kian sighed, his shoulders sagging in defeat. "Okay, let

me walk you out then," he said, his voice soft and silent.

I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him.

"Okay, thanks. Aren’t you also going home?" I said, my voice barely

above a whisper.

As we walked out of there, Kian’s hand brushed against mine,

sending shivers down my spine. I felt a sense of electricity between us, a

sense of attraction that I couldn't ignore.

We stood outside the building, the cool night air wrapping

around us like a blanket. Kian turned to me, his eyes locked onto mine.

"Thank you very much for tonight," he said, his

voice low and husky. "I had a great time with you, I truly had a nice time."

His gaze was on me, intense and piercing. I smirked, trying

to appear nonchalant. "You should go home," I said, my voice firm.

"They need you badly over there."

Kian's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in frustration.

"I wanted my peace, that was why I left home," he said, his voice low

and husky.

I raised an eyebrow, playing with my car keys. "You

cannot solve an issue by running away from it, it will only get worse." I

said, my voice filled with conviction.

Kian's eyes flashed with anger, but he said nothing. He knew

I was right but he hates his family.

"I am not running away, I just need time to

think," he said, his voice low and husky.

I smirked, raising an eyebrow. "The Kian I fell in love

with was a tough and brave one, I fell in love with you because of your

courage." I said, my voice filled with emotion. "What changed

you?"

Kian's eyes dropped, his gaze falling to the ground.

"Love," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

I stood still, my gaze fixed on him, but I didn't say a

word. I couldn't. I was too shocked, too hurt.

I smiled, a bitter smile, and looked away. I couldn't bear

to look at him, to see the vulnerability in his eyes.

Kian took a step closer to me, his eyes pleading. "I

know I've changed," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "But it's

because of you. You make me feel things I've never felt before."

I turned back to him, my eyes searching his face. "What

kind of things?" I asked, my voice soft.

Kian's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with

intensity. "Fear," he said, his voice low. "Fear of losing you,

of not being able to protect you."

I felt a pang in my chest, a pang of sadness and

understanding. I knew that fear, that feeling of vulnerability.

"But you failed me once, you lied to me. That is not

how a real man should solve his problems, not by hiding it from his woman,"

I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Kian's eyes softened, his expression filled with emotion.

"I know... I know I made a mistake." he said, his voice filled with

conviction. "That's why I need time to think, to figure out how to be the

man you need me to be."

I nodded, feeling a sense of understanding wash over me but

at the same time hurt.

“I wish... I just wished Mira’s child wasnt yours, things

would be better that way”

“Vivian..." he said, his voice filled with guilt and

regret.

I looked at him, my eyes locked on his, searching for

answers. His eyes were filled with a deep sadness, a sense of longing.

"What is it, Kian? I think we have said enough I want

to go home" I said, my voice harsh, my heart pounding in my chest.

Kian took a step closer to me, his eyes never leaving mine.

"I'm so sorry, Vivian." he said, his voice cracking with emotion.

"If only I could change back time I would”.

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at him, saw the

sincerity in his eyes. "What’s done is done, it’s not your fault” I said,

my voice barely above a whisper.

“But you wont forgive me and let’s start over” he said

"I really wanted to, I truly wished everything will go

back to its places, we would be happy like we were before." I said, my

voice shaking with emotion. "I love you, Kian, and none of you is hurt

here, I am the only one this is affecting."

Kian's eyes filled with gult as he looked at me, his

expression filled with sadness and regret. He took a step closer to me, his

hands reaching out to me, but I shook my head, stopping him.

"I am going to repeat this again, Kian," I said,

my voice barely above a whisper. "I truly wished Mira's child wasn't

yours."

Kian's face crumpled. He looked like he had been punched in

the gut, like all the air had been sucked out of him.

"It hurts me anytime I see her," I continued, my

voice cracking with emotion. "None of you understand how I feel”.

I felt a sob rise up in my throat, and I couldn't stop it.

Tears streamed down my face, my body shaking with emotion.

Kian took another step closer to me, his eyes filled with

tears. "Vivian, please," he said, his voice shaking. "Don't say

that."
