Chapter 819 In the Next Life, It’ll Be Your Turn to Serve Me
In early December, the little one finished his first month after birth. He transformed from an ugly, wrinkled little old man into a pink and tender baby, getting cuter by the day.
Thalia's rare maternal instinct kicked in and went into overdrive.
Two nannies were more than enough to take care of the baby. But Thalia just had to get involved.
She held the baby all day long and wouldn't let go.
Whenever William came home, she was always in the nursery.
Even at bedtime, she had to be called three or four times before she'd come.
Over time, William grew frustrated.
He'd make sarcastic remarks here and there.
Plaintive complaints would echo in the bedroom from time to time.
That evening, Thalia came out of the nursery and finished her shower after midnight.
As soon as she lay down, William wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace.
His prominent nose nuzzled against her chin, on and off, tickling her.
"Sleep."
"I want you," William begged humbly.
Thalia whimpered. "But I'm so tired."
Someone on maternity leave at home who doesn't even take care of the baby says she's tired?
Has she been doing all the nannies' work?
The next morning, Thalia got up and saw the nannies lower their heads and hurry upstairs when they saw her, not daring to linger.
They seemed to be avoiding her.
She looked at Fallon in confusion. "What's wrong?"
"Mr. Brown scolded them this morning, saying they were hired to work, not to enjoy themselves."
"What did they do wrong?"
Fallon looked hesitant. "Mrs. Brown, from now on just hold Eddy and play with him for fun. You spend all day in the nursery doing all the work of caring for Eddy, so they've got nothing to do."
So they got in trouble because of Thalia?
For Christmas, William planned to throw a birthday party for the little one.
Not wanting to make a big fuss, he'd hold it at Mistwood Hill, inviting some family and close business partners.
He wanted to get this done before Thalia returned to work.
Thalia put her heart and soul into the party's decorations and style.
From the flowers down to the outfits for the family of three, everything had to follow her vision.
That day, William had just come out of the nursery after checking on the baby when he saw Thalia lying on the bed, flipping back and forth between her phone and iPad.
William walked over and glanced at her phone screen.
"Haven't decided yet?"
"Is it that easy to make a decision?"
William pulled the blanket over her lower back and patiently advised, "Leave professional matters to professionals. You just focus on recovering."
"No way," Thalia refused, sitting up and holding the iPad in front of William. "What do you think of this style?"
William glanced at it with disgust. "Not good."
"It's trendy right now. What do you know?"
William laughed in exasperation and grabbed her slim waist, starting to tickle her.
He pinned her down, tickling her until tears streamed down her face.
She laughed and cursed at the same time. "Hahahaha, you jerk, you better sleep with your eyes open tonight."
"I swear I'll kill you, ahhhhh!"
When William felt it was enough, he let her go, and before Thalia could retaliate, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.
The moment their breaths intertwined, Thalia was dazed.
William's handsome face enlarged infinitely before her eyes.
The man chuckled in his throat. "Close your eyes, silly girl."
Lips met and tongues tangled, the wetness intensifying.
They'd done it a few times during pregnancy, but never satisfyingly. Both worried about hurting the baby and ended early.
Neither was satisfied.
But now, with night falling dark, deep silence, no interruptions and no external obstacles.
Back and forth, in the tussle, Thalia was stripped bare.
She'd read online about various problems with the first time after childbirth, but never thought it would happen to her.
The chemistry they had before pregnancy was completely gone after.
When the soreness peaked, her mind felt momentarily torn.
She pushed William away. "Let's wait a bit longer."
William squeezed her palm, coaxing gently. "Be good."
"I don't want to deal with this."
"You don't move, I'll do the work," the man's words landed, the thin blanket covering them fell to the floor, and the only bedside lamp in the room went out.
What followed was warm breath traveling downward.
Further down...
Thalia startled and reached to block him. "Don't."
"It's dirty."
"Nonsense," William grabbed her palm, scolding her.
Thalia gradually surrendered to his efforts.
Like driftwood on the sea meeting stormy waves, rising and falling.
Swept up by the waves, then slammed down hard.
When they finished, it was already the middle of the night.
She lay on the bed panting. William, with a towel wrapped around his lower body, brought a robe and put it on her.
He carried her to the sofa.
"What's wrong?"
"The sheets need changing, or you'll be uncomfortable sleeping."
Thalia's mind went blank.
She grabbed a cushion from the sofa and covered her face, speaking in a muffled voice. "You change them, you do it yourself, don't let anyone else."
William laughed quietly, good-naturedly saying "okay" three times in a row. "Okay, okay, okay, I'll change them, I'll change them."
"I can't do anything with you."
"You were born to take care of me."
Thalia hummed. "I want to marry you in the next life too."
"In the next life when you marry me, let's switch genders, and you can take care of me."
"In your dreams!"
William scooped up all of Thalia's random stuffed animals from the bed and stuffed them into her arms. "Hold tight."
Thalia hugged the pile of stuffed animals. Seeing the rabbit about to fall, she freed her fingertips to grab its ears.
William turned around and caught this scene.
Too lazy to put them back one by one.
He simply picked up Thalia, let her hold her "friends," and brought them all back to bed together.
