Chapter 431 So Serious?

Chapter 431 So Serious?

"Mr. Brown, the fire department results are in. They say it was arson - the place was doused with gasoline. The fire spread so fast there was no stopping it, and the door was deliberately locked from the outside. This was murder."

"Go find Layla and bring her to coordinate with the production team. By tomorrow morning at the latest, I need to know who did this."

William's face was dark as he stood at the hospital room door, making doctors and nurses too scared to come near. People passing by practically pressed themselves against the wall, trying to make themselves invisible.

"William, Thalia's mom is here." Amara came out of the office and spotted Grace from far away, marching over with an intimidating air. The Hermès bag in her hand looked like she was carrying a sharp knife.

"Let's talk."

William nodded and glanced at Amara. "Keep watch. Call me if anything happens."

At the end of the hospital corridor, Grace looked at William, her face showing barely controlled anger. But even so, her words remained polite. "Don't you think you owe me an explanation, Mr. Brown?"

Grace didn't need to think twice to know this had something to do with William. Those little tricks in the entertainment industry were just petty squabbles, but this kind of thing - going straight for someone's life - that was the ruthless game businessmen played.

"Still investigating. Once I find out, I'll give you an explanation."

"Thalia's dad was a complete bastard, and even he didn't manage to kill her. If she dies because of you, Mr. Brown, you'd better watch out - she won't forgive you even in death."

"Don't worry, I'm not that useless yet."

"Those people from the Jimenez family - it's not like you can't deal with them. You could've handled them early on and saved yourself the trouble, but you keep them around jumping in front of you. Do you really enjoy this feeling of being watched?"

"Whatever happens to you is your business, but don't drag Thalia into it. You two haven't even gone public yet and it's already one thing after another. If you do go public, your enemies might not be able to get to you, but they can definitely get to a woman, right?" Grace's warning was stern, and William listened with his head bowed.

She knew her daughter's personality inside and out. As long as it didn't involve death or major trouble, she always turned a blind eye and let Thalia do as she pleased.

But today, the trending topics from the agency and production team couldn't be suppressed no matter what.

When the video of Thalia in the fire came out, Grace's heart seized up. If she didn't step in now, Thalia could have actually died..

"Did you get chewed out?" Amara waited by the door, watching Grace enter the hospital room before walking up to William with a worried look. "Is she related to you?"

"Thalia's going back to the Smith Villa. You're going with her."

"That serious?"

They're separating? Before dealing with external threats, they're already having internal conflicts?

"Did you see the news? Thalia had an accident - almost got burned to death while filming," Luna told Chase as soon as he got home.

"When did this happen? How come I didn't know?" He'd just come from the club and hadn't heard anyone mention it!

"Check Facebook, it's still trending. They're saying someone deliberately set a fire to murder her while she was filming."

Chase stood in the middle of the living room, looking at the news on his phone. After a moment, he turned around and headed back out.

"Where are you going?"

"Thalia got hurt. Shouldn't I, as her brother, go check on her?"

He'd finally found an opportunity - he had to seize it!

He wanted to see what tricks Thalia could pull while lying in a hospital bed.

Thalia had just woken up to find Grace sitting by her bedside. Seeing her awake, Grace poured her a glass of water to soothe her throat. After drinking half of it, she lay back down.

"The doctor said you shouldn't talk for a week to avoid damaging your vocal cords."

Hearing this, Thalia rolled her eyes so hard she nearly passed out again. What if someone cursed at her?

What if William got into an argument with her?

"Don't worry, no one will dare mess with you."

"Thalia." Right as Grace finished speaking, the hospital room door burst open. Chase's annoying voice rang out from the doorway, and Thalia's anger immediately flared up.

No one will dare mess with her?

This idiot showed up right away, didn't he?

She glanced at Grace, who was also rubbing her temples in frustration. She knew Chase coming here meant nothing good.

"We haven't seen each other in so long, and this happens to you. Did they find out who did it? If I find out who hurt you like this, I'll definitely go teach them a lesson."

"Thalia! Look how beautiful you are - is someone jealous of your beauty?"

"I've told you before about the entertainment industry - it's a mixed bag, full of scheming people. Everyone in that business is no good."

"See? Didn't I tell you?"

Chase was insulting her! Saying everyone in entertainment was no good - and wasn't she in entertainment? Wasn't he indirectly calling her no good?

Thalia was debating whether to tolerate him.

Should she put up with his smugness for now?

Or just beat him up right here?

"Look at you - you could be at home enjoying life, but you insisted on going into the entertainment industry to compete with others in such a complicated environment. Now look what happened... What if you got hurt? That face you're so proud of."

.......

"Who's in there?"

William had just finished a phone call nearby and heard a man's loud voice yapping away at the hospital room door. And what he was saying sounded awful.

Amara peeked inside. "Chase."

William was speechless.

The man typed out a message and sent it to Amara's messenger. "Show this to Thalia."

"Go in and deal with him. Don't hold back."

Amara looked at the message on her phone, thinking - William's really something.

"Alright, arguing is my specialty."

Amara confidently promised, then pushed open the hospital room door. As soon as she entered, she exclaimed, "I heard someone going on and on outside the door. I wondered who it was - turns out it's Mr. Smith!"

Amara looked him up and down. "What's that smell on you? Just came from a woman's place, huh? Mr. Smith, based on my years of medical experience, you look pretty worn out. After doing that kind of thing, I suggest you lie in bed and drink some nourishing soup to recover. Don't wait until you're 35 and your body can't keep up anymore."

"None of your damn business!" Chase knew Amara - though they'd never directly clashed, he knew she was William's sister. He could ignore other people's feelings, but he had to respect William's.

That man - he couldn't afford to cross him.

"Thalia is my patient. You tell me if it's my business or not?" Amara said while walking over to Thalia's side and handing her the phone.

It showed William's messenger, with the latest message reading: [Don't be upset, I'll deal with him for you.]
