Chapter 429 Honey, Do You Love Me?
Thalia was sleeping in the middle of the night when she had a dream. In the dream, she got into an argument with William, and to make matters worse, she lost.
She was so angry that she woke up in the middle of the night.
After waking up, she laid in bed with her eyes open, staring at the ceiling, unable to fall back asleep. If she were alone at this moment, it would be one thing, but the steady, even breathing beside her made her more and more annoyed, and the more she thought about it, the more upset she became.
In an instant, she grabbed a pillow from beside her and pressed it over William's face.
"Thalia, are you crazy?"
"If you smother me to death, everyone in Emerald City will know you're my wife tomorrow."
"If you murder me, you won't get a penny of my money, and forget about taking my money to find other men, or using my private jet to fly to some island to fool around with other guys."
Thalia, wearing a white nightgown with her hair loose, knelt on the bed staring at him like a resentful ghost.
"I had a dream."
William covered his throat and coughed twice. "What did you dream about?"
"I dreamed I got into an argument with you and lost."
William was speechless.
"If you apologize, I'll forgive you."
"I'm sorry, I was wrong, please forgive me." William was smart about it. Getting into an argument with Thalia in the middle of the night meant he wouldn't get any sleep - Thalia could come up with countless ways to torment him and make his life miserable.
People who know how to be flexible are the truly smart ones. There was no need to argue with an angry woman.
Thalia snorted, seeming to calm down a bit, pulled the blanket over herself and went back to sleep. William sighed helplessly, tossed the pillow that was between them onto the nearby chaise lounge, and carefully put his arms around Thalia to continue sleeping.
Holding her, he could know immediately if she made any moves.
Not holding her, she might sneak up in the middle of the night, grab a pillow and smother him to death, and he'd have nowhere to complain.
"Honey......"
"Mm."
"Do you love me?"
"Yes."
"Then can you let me bite you?"
William pulled the blanket over Thalia. "Be good, I was just kidding. Go back to sleep."
.........
The next morning, Thalia was sleeping soundly when she was woken up by the cat.
The Ragdoll cat was crouched by her pillow, meowing. Thalia rolled over, pulled the cat into her arms and gave it a good squeeze. The cat really was like its owner - this silly cat had traded its intelligence for good looks, so gentle and simple.
William had spoiled it too much.
"Mrs. Brown, good morning."
"Morning." Thalia changed into casual clothes and went downstairs, with the cat following right behind her, tail held high.
As soon as she got downstairs, she saw William coming in from outside, covered in sweat, looking like he'd just come back from a morning run.
"Don't you have a breakfast meeting?"
"It was cancelled""
Thalia didn't believe it. "Areyou sure it was cancelled, and you're not just lying to me?"
William took the towel Fallon handed him and wiped the sweat from his face, confirming again. "Really, it was cancelled."
..........
"Why does Grandpa insist that William must return to the Jimenez family? Can't the Jimenez family solve this situation without him?"
In the backyard of the Jimenez Mansion, Eileen was trimming flower branches with scissors while Sean stood beside her, asking questions.
She listened but didn't respond to any right away
It was a long time before she finally spoke. "What your grandfather did to your aunt back then was really too much. Everyone thought that when she left, she was gone for good, and no one ever thought that she would come back But not only did she come back, but she came back in a position to overshadow the Jimenez family. You have to solve a problem at its source. If it hadn't been for her marriage to Vaughn standing between them, their relationship might not be so strained."
"Your grandfather's thinking is very clear. First, bringing William to Regal City means he can take the heat. Second, the powerful Emerald City backing him can support the Jimenez family."
"Do you think he would be willing?"
"He won't be willing, but we can make him willing."
"Grandma, you have other methods?"
Eileen smiled, responding mysteriously, "You'll find out when the time comes."
"Michael seems to be getting close to Thalia. Yesterday, when I went to see William, I saw Thalia waiting for him."
"I'm wondering if the relationship between those two might not be just an ambiguous relationship like the outside world says."
"What are you thinking?" Eileen asked.
Sean said, "Could Thalia and William already be in a relationship?"
"Whether they're in a relationship or not, we can just verify it, can't we?"
Eileen glanced sideways at Sean, her eyes naked and vicious.
Even so, Sean understood immediately. He nodded. "I understand."
Eileen had always felt that Sean was more like her, whether in personality or in methods and means of dealing with people - he was practically cut from the same cloth as her. Michael, on the other hand, was more like people from his maternal grandmother's side - indecisive, hesitant when things came up.
Even if you have methods and means, for a man to have too much mercy is never a good thing.
..........
"This show might not finish until after Christmas. The director has been waiting for the weather changes to strive for perfection. After today's scenes are done, there will be some shots filmed abroad. Pack your luggage tonight when you get back."
Layla sat in the van, watching the makeup artist apply Thalia's makeup - the look of someone who had just escaped from a fire scene, all black and sooty.
"Okay," Thalia responded.
"In the scene later, the fire will be real. Be careful and don't hurt yourself no matter what."
"Got it."
As Layla spoke, she felt uncomfortable and uneasy. "When I left this morning, my heart kept racing, and I felt really anxious. Something doesn't feel right. Why don't we use a stunt double for today's scene?"
Thalia glanced at her. "If this were anywhere else, I'd definitely believe you, but on set, the director definitely doesn't want any of us to have accidents or negative news. The safety measures will definitely be in place. Don't worry, even if it's a real fire scene, there will definitely be crew members in the fire. They can't really let something happen to me, right?"
"Relax, relax. What's our relationship with the crew now? We all rise and fall together."
After Thalia's reassurance, even though Layla wanted to say something, she didn't know what to say.
"Just be careful yourself. Any scars on your body will affect you."
"I know, I know."
Soon after, Thalia got out of the car and stood beside the director to go over the scene.
"Before we start shooting, go in and familiarize yourself with the location and the emergency exit. Remember, you absolutely cannot run the wrong way."
"Okay."
