Chapter 327 Made Love Too Hard and Got Kicked Out
"Whatever, anything's fine."
Gregory pulled open the fridge, about to hand him a beer, but then realized that if he drank, he couldn't drive, which meant he'd have to stay over tonight, wouldn't he?
So his hand changed course and landed on a bottle of soda water instead.
"What brings you to my place today?" Gregory asked.
"Ran into Luca, chatted for a bit, and thought I'd come see you with him. Mistwood Hill has tight security - I couldn't have gotten in without Luca." Michael's words cleared up Gregory's confusion.
"Rare for you two to run into each other. Still staying at the hotel?"
"Yeah!"
"The Jimenez family has plenty of resources and properties in Emerald City. Why not stay in one of those?"
"When do the Jimenez family's perks ever come my way?" Michael laughed, picked up his glass, and took a sip of water, looking at Gregory with a helpless, humorous expression.
Gregory thought to himself, 'Well, the Jimenezes have their attention on other people - he doesn't deserve anything.'
He'd seen plenty of unfair families like this, but ones quite like the Jimenez family were truly rare.
Then again, it wasn't strange - real wealthy families only needed one qualified heir. As for the other children, it didn't matter. If they had no ambition, keep them around; if they did have ambition, send them away.
Michael might put on a good act, but what everyone in Regal City could see, Steven could probably see too.
How could someone without ambition come to Emerald City?
Whether he wanted to take down William or get him on his side, neither was something a person without ambition would do.
"When are you heading back to Regal City?" Michael asked.
"Tomorrow. Someone in the family has a birthday coming up, gotta go back." Gregory answered Michael's question.
Gregory asked, "What about you?"
He knew Michael had come for Thalia, so naturally, he wouldn't steer the conversation that way, didn't even bother bringing up the entertainment industry.
"Getting ready to. My grandfather gave me an ultimatum."

On Wednesday, after recovering, Angelina returned to the company. She'd just gotten out of her car when she was surrounded by people.
She looked at the crowd before her, eyebrows raised. Was she really this unlucky? One problem after another?
Last time was one thing, but now someone was blocking her way in the company's underground parking garage?
What was this about?
Was ambushing people at their doorstep trending these days?
"Pretty bold. Do you know where you are?"
As soon as Angelina finished speaking, a middle-aged man in a suit got out of a black Mercedes with Beijing plates behind her.
Him again.
"Ms. Jolie, sorry, we mean no harm. It's just that we've been trying to meet Mr. Brown but can't get an appointment, so we had to resort to this."
In all her years, she'd never seen anyone kidnap a subordinate because they couldn't meet the boss.
"Mr. Rogers, do you think this is appropriate?"
"That's why I'm apologizing."
"So many people want to meet Mr. Brown every day. If everyone acted like you, would I even survive?"
"If you want to see Mr. Brown, go see him. What kind of skill is it to make things difficult for a woman?"
Angelina wasn't one to be pushed around. She was about to call security to throw them out.
Stefan glanced at the bodyguard beside him, who understood and directly forced Angelina into the car.
Angelina was speechless.
When security arrived, the bodyguard standing by the car politely and courteously informed them, "We have no intention of making things difficult for Ms. Jolie, but we want to see Mr. Brown. Please let Mr. Brown know."
When William got this news, he was just getting up from the couch, his tie loose and not properly tied.
Last night, he'd been too rough with Thalia and got kicked out. He came to sleep in his office at 4 AM, already in a bad mood, and now it was even worse.
"Go downstairs and get me some breakfast."
Brian acknowledged, thinking what did this have to do with Angelina being kidnapped?
"Didn't you understand?" the man asked coldly.
"But Ms. Jolie..."
William shot him a cold look. Brian didn't dare say more and quickly left.
Stefan wouldn't dare do anything to Angelina.
William understood this in his heart.
If he really wanted to break things off, there were plenty of methods - not this one.
Forty minutes later, William pressed the intercom and had Brian come in to clean up. "Make a cup of coffee and bring the person upstairs."
"Got it."
When Angelina came up, she faintly smelled sandwiches in William's office.
Seeing the full cup of coffee by his hand, she knew this man had probably eaten breakfast at his leisure before casually having her brought up.

"Mr. Brown, finally getting to meet you." Stefan spoke, relatively politely.
William sat across from him, holding his coffee. "You've been trying so hard to see me - why?"
"Mr. Brown, you should know why I've come. The Jimenez family wants to invite you back to Regal City."
"How kind of Steven to remember me in his lifetime, but what makes him think I'd go back to Regal City?"
"Mr. Brown, you have half of the Jimenez family's blood in you."
"So?" the man asked lightly.
Stefan was shocked by what the man before him said.
After calming down for a while, he said, "So you should rightfully return to the Jimenez family."
William laughed, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
His mocking tone and disdainful expression were like a needle piercing Stefan's heart.
"The Jimenez family raised a daughter who abandoned her husband and child? Steven favored his mistress and destroyed his wife, leading to his daughter's rebellious personality - and you have the nerve to ask me to return to the Jimenez family?"
They didn't care when he was young, but now they know to come looking for him?
What? Can't anyone else clean up the Jimenez family's mess?
"Mr. Brown, that's going too far."
"In those days, there were too many things beyond our control. Leaving you in Emerald City was the best choice."
Everyone has their difficulties, but these difficulties were hard to explain.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Brian poked his head in and pointed at his watch.
William understood.
He slowly stood up and said to Brian, "Show him out."
