Chapter 112 Has Anyone Told You That You Can't Just Touch a Man's Thigh?
Emma looked at William, her face turning pale.
She could afford to offend Thalia, but not William. Who in Emerald City didn't know William's reputation?
This Aurora Tower appeared to be managed by Daniel on the surface, but William was actually the controlling shareholder behind the scenes.
Moreover, William's methods were unpredictable and inscrutable.
You might just pass away in your sleep one day without warning.
Emma's face darkened with anger.
Her gaze moved back and forth between William and Thalia.
Seeing this, Thalia said smugly, "Even without my dad, I still have Mr. Brown. Not like Ms. Wood - can't count on her real dad, and her real brother is an idiot."
William was surprised to hear this.
A strange feeling had just begun to stir in William's heart, but thinking about how Thalia was the type to talk nonsense, she was probably just using him to provoke Emma.
William glanced at Thalia and let go of Emma's hand.
The elevator doors opened. Thalia, like a spoiled child with someone backing her up, followed William out of the elevator smugly.
Up ahead, William strode forward with long steps.
Behind him, Thalia trotted along in her high heels trying to keep up.
"So what if you have long legs?"
Hearing this complaint, William suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Ms. Smith has gotten quite skilled at using me."
"Have I?" Thalia's eyes darted around, like a cat caught by its owner after stealing something.
Just like that clever ragdoll cat at her home.
"Should I go back and have a word with Emma then?"
William said this and started heading back toward the elevator. Thalia grabbed his arm: "Mr. Brown is so petty, be careful or your son will be born without an asshole."
"Isn't my son in your belly?" William shot back casually.
Thalia: .........
"Are we going or not?" If they didn't leave soon, Vaughn and Grace would be arranging their marriage.
"Apologize."
"Apologize for what?"
William cast a cold glance her way. Thalia's heart trembled. He was being too petty. She just used him a little, was it really necessary?
"What does Ms. Smith think?"
Seeing William wasn't budging, Thalia rolled her eyes internally.
Thalia reluctantly apologized - she knew when to bend.
Just as they got in the car, Thalia looked around William's vehicle, searching for tissues to wipe her hands but couldn't find any. Thinking about how she'd just touched Emma made her feel disgusted. She looked at William: "Mr. Brown."
"What." William didn't even bother giving her a glance.
Thalia raised an eyebrow and placed her hand on William's thigh, rubbing her palm against his pants.
Thalia's sudden move made William shudder. William, who was driving, hadn't expected Thalia to misbehave.
Just as he turned the steering wheel to exit the parking garage, the car crashed into the tunnel wall.
Thalia froze in shock, forgetting to remove her hand from William's thigh.
"Why are you grabbing me?" Thalia suddenly snapped back to reality.
William looked at her, grinding his teeth: "Has no one told you that you can't just touch a man's thigh?"
Thalia glanced at her hand being held by William and corrected him: "I was wiping my hand."
She pulled her arm back and rubbed it: "Stop flattering yourself."
William's face darkened at Thalia's retort. The two switched to another car. As Thalia got into the SUV, she glanced at William's car's front end.
Three hundred thousand dollars gone.
As soon as they got in the car, John looked in the rearview mirror. Compared to William's dark mood, Thalia seemed much happier.
She pulled out two wet wipes and cleaned her palms, deliberately leaning toward William with a casual attitude.
Thalia just wanted to provoke him.
The car stopped at the entrance of the Smith Villa.
Before Thalia even went in, she saw Finn and a group of bodyguards standing in the courtyard, carrying in various gifts.
As William strode forward, Thalia felt a bit scared and grabbed his arm: "Can you go in by yourself?"
"What's wrong?" William raised an eyebrow.
"Whenever I see your dad, I think of my high school teacher. It scares me a little."
Embarrassingly enough, when she was in high school, her grades weren't great, and her parents were called to school many times. Each time they were called, she'd get scolded when she got home. It gave her psychological trauma. When she was in college, there was a charming guy who pursued her. Thalia was quite interested in him at first, but when she found out his mom was a teacher...
Thalia immediately gave up on the idea of dating that guy.
She thought to herself, how desperate would she have to be?
To date a guy whose mom was a teacher.
William's dad was already at her house.
William: ........."Your high school teacher was almost driven to breast cancer by you, and she wasn't scared. But you are."
Thalia: ......"I don't care, I'm not going in."
William grabbed Thalia's arm: "This is your home."
"If you hadn't provoked me and then refused to take my case, would I have gone to your house and said those things? This whole situation is your responsibility, and you have an obligation to fix it."
William laughed. Wasn't this just Thalia's style?
Rather than reflect on herself, she'd rather blame others.
Seeing William say nothing, Thalia pressed on: "Mr. Brown, aren't you all-powerful? Don't you control everything? Aren't you the Satan of Emerald City? Can't even handle this small matter - is your reputation fake?"
Using reverse psychology on him now?
William laughed in exasperation and nodded repeatedly: "Even the wisest judge cannot settle family disputes."
"You're wise? You solicited prostitutes, you dug traps - how dare you call yourself wise?"
William didn't want to argue with Thalia standing in the courtyard of the Smith Villa, so he ended the conversation: "So?"
"I'm not going," Thalia answered decisively.
William nodded slightly, let go of Thalia's arm, and tilted his chin to indicate she could leave.
Thalia looked at him skeptically, thinking for a moment, unsure what William was planning.
But she still turned to leave.
She had just walked out of the courtyard gate and hadn't gotten in the car yet when she heard William, standing in the courtyard with one hand in his pocket, suddenly shout: "Ms. Smith."
Thalia: She had been planning to sneak away quietly - could she still leave now?
The floor-to-ceiling windows of the Smith Villa were pulled open. Grace opened the glass door and stood in the living room looking at her, her tone unfriendly: "You're back and you're not coming in?"
Thalia: ........
She steeled herself and turned around. As she passed William, she wanted to kill him.
"Mr. Brown, you're really terrible!" Thalia said with a smile while looking at him resentfully.
William responded: "Ms. Smith forced me to."
