Chapter 109 You Won't Win a Wife This Way
In the living room of the Smith Villa, a nurse was treating Thalia's wound.
The pain made her grimace. Listening to Grace talk about that woman's background, she was so angry she almost started cursing: "Even a little assistant from a beauty salon can bully you? And you just took it?"
"Gentle," Thalia glared at the nurse, startling her so much that her hand holding the cotton swab trembled.
"If it wasn't her, it would be someone else. Don't you know what kind of person your dad is? Is this about whether I can take it or not?"
Thalia had heard about Hayden's romantic escapades from when he was young her whole life.
Thalia picked up a mirror to look at the wound on her neck and got even angrier. She was already struggling in the entertainment industry, and now she got her face scratched... Could she still keep her position as the innocent girl in showbiz?
"If it were me, I'd let her get pregnant, but I'd definitely divorce them and make them leave with nothing!"
Grace was stunned hearing Thalia say this. Seeing her ruthless determination, she actually felt somewhat relieved.
"Ms. Smith, all done."
The nurse stopped what she was doing. Thalia looked at the bright red wound on her neck and rolled her eyes in anger.
"Will it scar?"
The nurse didn't dare say for sure. For an ordinary person, she could just give some care advice, but Thalia was both Emerald City's princess and an entertainment industry star - she might be held responsible if anything went wrong.
"Modern cosmetic medicine is very advanced. If it does scar, you must treat it early."
Thalia got angry hearing the nurse's words.
She waved her hand, dismissing her.
Just as she was about to say something, Evelyn called.
"The first thing Emma did after getting out was book the second floor of Aurora Tower to party. Isn't that wild?"
Thalia was already angry, and she glanced at John: "I'm coming right over."
Hearing this, John sensibly went to prepare the car.
Seeing Thalia about to go out, Grace reminded her: "You'd better reduce your social activities lately."
"I don't want to either, but I can't swallow this insult."
Thalia changed into a half-turtleneck base shirt and went downstairs. As soon as she got in the car, John drove toward Aurora Tower.
Thalia had just entered the elevator in the Aurora Tower parking garage.
A black Maybach pulled up next to her car.
"Isn't that Thalia's car?" Angelina had seen it a few times and remembered it. She glanced at William beside her: "Did Ms. Smith get frustrated at your place and come to Aurora Tower to have fun?"
William couldn't be bothered to respond.
He pushed open the door and got out. Angelina followed.
They had worked overtime until now before getting off work, thinking of coming to Aurora Tower to get something to eat, and unexpectedly ran into Thalia.
"I'm talking to you! Acting like this, you'll never win over Thalia, and even if you do, you'll end up divorced."
William's expression changed. William was the epitome of being emotionally reserved. Angelina had known him for so many years and understood him too well.
William entered the elevator and spoke stiffly: "She's here to find Emma."
"Emma got out?" Angelina was puzzled.
"Yes."
Angelina thought for a moment: "Makes sense. The Smith family isn't what it used to be, but Wesley is still well-connected, so pulling some strings is still easy."
Angelina continued: "No wonder people say Ms. Smith is pitiful! Her real dad is failing, and everyone can bully her now. She used to be so proud!"
The second floor of Aurora Tower was a bar.
Emma had always been known in their circle as the bar princess, a master at DJing.
When Thalia entered, the bar's music was deafening.
Emma stood on stage, wearing all black workwear and a black baseball cap, swaying happily, not at all like someone who had just spent a month in detention.
"So happy!" Evelyn looked at Emma and shook her head.
Hearing "so happy," Thalia's heart caught.
Comparing people just makes you angry!
She grabbed a server: "Is your Mr. Wilson here?"
"Who? Who?" The server stuttered, startled by being suddenly grabbed.
After all, in a place like a bar, these servers could easily get harassed by drunk customers.
Thalia held back: "Daniel."
"Ms. Smith, are you looking for William? Daniel has become your messenger."
Before the server could respond to Thalia, Angelina appeared behind her with a big smile showing all her teeth, looking completely sincere.
Thalia followed her gaze and indeed saw William standing not far away. William had his back to them, seemingly on a phone call.
"Ms. Jolie is quite free?" Why is she everywhere?
"Not free, just finished working overtime, came to find food."
Angelina responded to her with complete sincerity.
Thalia was furious. She couldn't stand William being smug in front of her. Evelyn saw what she meant and nudged her with her elbow.
"Can Mr. Brown help me solve this?"
"Yes, definitely," Angelina nodded firmly.
Others might not know, but she knew perfectly well that William was the big boss behind Aurora Tower.
To put it plainly, Daniel was just a store manager watching the place.
Thalia nodded: "Alright, then have Mr. Brown cut the power so I can see."
Wasn't this William's specialty?
When she went to bars, if William caught her, he liked to cut the power on her.
William had just finished Vaughn's call, using work as an excuse to hang up. As soon as he turned around, he saw Angelina leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, looking at him.
Thalia held her head high proudly, staring at him, looking like she was waiting for something.
"Mr. Brown, your girlfriend wants you to cut the power at the bar so she can see."
William: .........
"Don't hesitate," Angelina glanced at him. If he kept hesitating, he wouldn't even get close to Thalia.
That's not how you chase someone.
William's method of chasing girls would lead to dying alone.
Ten minutes later........
The bar that had been lively just moments ago was suddenly pitch black. The group of people who had been having fun were frozen in place like their wind-up keys had been cut.
"What's going on?"
"This is Aurora Tower! How can the power go out?"
"Aurora Tower! Emerald City's number one Eclipse Lounge, where's the manager?"
Aurora Tower was Emerald City's famous Eclipse Lounge. It was most famous for its management model - each floor had a professional manager, and someone would come solve any problem that arose.
"I'll go check," Emma jumped down from the stage, ready to find the manager.
She had just walked through the crowd into the hallway when someone kicked her in the small of her back from the side.
The huge impact force made her knock over the fire extinguisher beside the hallway.
Her side hit the iron box, and the pain made her roll on the ground.
"Who?"
"Which bastard?"
"If you've got guts, come out, don't hide in the dark."
Emma had just finished her tough talk when she saw a figure walking toward her in the dark hallway.
Instinctively, Emma wanted to escape.
Her elbow pressed against the ground trying to struggle up. Hearing the footsteps getting closer, cold sweat trickled down her back in streams.
