Chapter 108 Thalia is Injured
"Thanks," Emma said stiffly.
"We're friends!" Scarlett moved closer and sat down next to Emma.
Acting all chummy.
Seeing this, Wesley glanced at Scarlett, then glared at Emma with frustration: "You two have a good talk. Scarlett, try to talk some sense into her."
He pointed at Emma again: "You should learn from her."
As soon as Wesley left, Emma snorted disdainfully and looked at Scarlett: "What do you want?"
"Nothing," Scarlett said. Now that Wesley was gone, she dropped the act, smoothed her skirt and moved further away: "My dad also told me to come check on you. Otherwise, why would I want to come?"
Emma smiled: "Well, sorry to put you out."
"A little."
Emma sat down across from Scarlett and noticed the faint marks on her face, the handprint that even foundation couldn't hide: "Looking at your face, did some wife slap you?"
Scarlett's expression changed. Emma laughed: "Don't tell me Ms. Lewis couldn't get William, so now she's going after someone else's husband?"
Hearing William's name, Scarlett's face looked even worse.
Thinking of William's tone when he rejected Jasper, her fingers on her knee tightened slightly.
"Makes sense. Everyone in Emerald City knows William is famously hard to get. Even Thalia couldn't get him, let alone you," Emma said, shaking her head: "Your body's not as good as Thalia's, your face isn't as pretty as Thalia's. Why would William pass up a princess for a servant?"
Scarlett was angry but kept her composure: "Why are you being so snarky with me? Everyone knows your Andrew is now a rat everyone wants to beat. He can't even survive in the entertainment industry anymore."
"I'm still doing better than you!"
Scarlett stood up slowly and looked down at her.
"Good luck to you. And here's some advice - stay away from Thalia. Don't end up like your brother, getting stripped and embarrassing yourself internationally."
"Oh, and I heard your cousin got scammed out of fifteen million dollars! The Wood family! So pathetic."
"What do you mean?" Emma was confused.
Scarlett smiled: "Guess!"
As Scarlett got up to leave, she saw the bag she'd brought on the sofa and picked it up: "Since you don't like it, I'll take it back."
"After all, our friendship isn't worth me giving you something this expensive."
Emma's face darkened at Scarlett's move, and she shot back: "If you can't afford it, don't give it."
"Right, I can't afford it."
After Scarlett left, Emma sat in the Wood Villa living room and kicked the coffee table in anger.
The servant coming out with desserts froze.
"No need. She's gone."
The servant quickly turned around and left with the tray, not daring to provoke Emma.
"Wait, didn't Walter's woman come back? Where is she?"
Emma looked at the servant and asked.
The servant checked the time. Usually by now, Aria would be up.
But today for some reason, they hadn't seen Aria at all.
"I'll go call her."
Upstairs, Aria was listening to the commotion downstairs at the top of the stairs. Hearing Emma's words, she trembled all over.
She'd dealt with this arrogant Emma before and knew she was trouble. When Aria was Walter's secretary, Emma had given her plenty of grief.
"Ms. Wood."
Before the servant could go upstairs, Aria appeared at the top of the stairs with her pregnant belly.
The person about to climb the stairs stopped.
Everyone could tell Emma was going to give Aria a hard time, so they quickly got out of the way.
Emma sat on the sofa, looking Aria up and down.
Then Emma's eyes fell on her belly.
"Walter's child?"
"Yes," Aria nodded timidly.
"Ms. Clark can climb into Walter's bed and into others' beds too. Are you sure this child is Walter's?"
Aria's face darkened at Emma's words. She stood there, clutching her skirt, unable to speak for a long time.
Emma thought she would talk back, but instead she was the type to swallow her anger. Emma got up irritably.
Walking to the stairs, she remembered something and pointed at the supplements on the floor: "Take all those things and eat them!"
........
At the Smith Villa, Thalia had just come out when she saw a woman holding a child's hand, lingering at the gate.
Seeing this familiar scene, Thalia's lips twitched.
Not another of Hayden's illegitimate children?
"Looking for someone?" Thalia walked over with a decent attitude.
As soon as Thalia finished speaking, the woman knelt down in front of her with the child.
"Ms. Smith, we're here to find Mr. Smith."
Thalia suppressed her anger and stepped back: "And then? What do you want with my dad?"
"Child support," the woman stammered.
Thalia sighed, looked up at the sky, and tried to control her anger: "Child support?"
"Yes."
"Stand up and talk first."
"Ms. Smith, I don't mean to offend. If Mr. Smith's child support came on time every month, I wouldn't come bother you. But now, I really have no choice. If Mr. Smith's child support doesn't come soon, I can't even pay the property fees."
Thalia frowned and caught the key point: "Property fees?"
"So my dad bought you a place?"
The woman choked up, not thinking too much: "Yes, he bought... bought one."
Thalia smiled, pulled at her skirt and slowly squatted down to be at eye level with the woman: "Do you know that the money my dad used to buy you that place is marital property belonging to my parents? My mom can sue you and get that money back. I wasn't looking for you, but you came looking for me."
The woman's face paled with fear, and she stammered: "But Mr. Smith gave it to me."
"Even if he gave it to you, it's still marital property. Believe me or not, forget property fees - I can make it so you don't even have a place to live."
"You!"
Before Thalia could say more, the child kneeling on the ground suddenly scratched at her, his hand landing on Thalia's neck.
Thalia's eyes turned cold: "John."
"Ms. Smith."
Hearing Thalia's shout from inside the yard, John rushed out. He saw three bloody scratches on Thalia's neck.
And the woman's terrified face and the child's vicious expression.
"Ms. Smith, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. The child didn't mean it."
"Does he look like he didn't mean it?" Thalia's tone was harsh as she stared at the child.
"What's going on?" Grace rushed out of the house hearing the commotion.
When Grace saw the woman, she froze: "It's you?"
Thalia covered her neck and looked at Grace: "You know her?"
