Chapter 62 How Are Elon's Pectoral Muscles? Are They Good to Touch?

Chapter 62 How Are Elon's Pectoral Muscles? Are They Good to Touch?

Even though Elon couldn't quite grasp why, he did as Thalia asked, considering she was a celebrity.

Thalia, with a jacket draped over her head, shivered as she nestled in Elon's arms.

Elon held her, feeling her tremble more than he thought possible.

"Ms. Smith?"

"I'm freezing, I'm not shaking on purpose."

"You okay?" Elon asked, standing in the elevator and holding the jacket-covered woman.

Thalia coughed a few times, her voice hoarse and broken: "No, I'm not. My period just started."

"How did you end up in the pool?"

Thalia cursed William in her mind. That jerk... he must have feelings for her. Why else would he push her into the pool right after she said those things? Fine, if William has feelings for her, she'll make sure to torment him.

If she doesn't make William miserable, she's not Thalia.

One day, she'll make sure William regrets it.

"Ms. Smith, you can rest in the guest room. Let me know if you need anything."

"Clean clothes, makeup remover, and toiletries."

Elon looked a bit troubled: "I can get you clean clothes and toiletries, but I'm sorry, I don't have any makeup remover."

Thalia sighed, hiding in the bathroom to avoid Elon's gaze: "Mr. Wilson, can you take me to my car? I want to leave early."

Elon hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded: "Sure."

As Elon carried Thalia to the parking lot, William and Evelyn arrived.

"Mr. Wilson," William's deep voice echoed at the elevator entrance as he strode toward Elon.

"Hand her over to me."

As soon as William said this, Elon felt Thalia lean closer to him.

Even though her face was hidden under the jacket, it was clear she didn't want to go with William.

"I'll respect Ms. Smith's wishes."

Elon knew enough about the gossip between Thalia and William. Thalia was pursuing William for his inheritance, but William barely acknowledged her.

Everyone in Emerald City was waiting to see Thalia make a fool of herself.

He guessed Thalia falling into the pool had something to do with William.

Thalia didn't want to deal with William, tugging at Elon's wet shirt. In doing so, her fingers brushed against his chest.

Thalia froze for a moment...

Elon, who had been staring at William, suddenly looked down at Thalia, though he couldn't see her.

William, having seen Thalia's tricks before, immediately became cold.

...

In the car, Thalia shivered under Elon's jacket. Isla drove, frequently glancing at the two in the backseat.

Another argument?

"That jerk William, one day I'll cut off his... you know what."

"He's no man," Thalia cursed angrily.

Evelyn, wiping water from Thalia's head with a towel, couldn't help but ask: "How were Elon's pecs? Nice to touch?"

Thalia: ...

Evelyn: "Oh, don't play dumb. I heard Elon is single and his love life is a blank slate. If you hadn't teased him, he wouldn't have reacted like that."

"I'm about to die here, you think I have the energy to tease anyone?"

Evelyn leaned closer: "Then tell me, why was he shaking?"

"Parkinson's?"

"If he had Parkinson's, he would have dropped you."

"Come on, spill."

Thalia reluctantly spoke: "You ask me, who do I ask?"

Though she often talked about men, the only one she had been with was William. Walter, her fiancé, hadn't even held her hand in the half-year they were engaged. Her first time was with William.

Touching Elon was purely accidental.

Touching other men was fine, but not Elon. She'd feel guilty.

He seemed like one of the few decent people in the chaotic Emerald City elite.

"Didn't you see William's murderous look just now?"

When Thalia got home, the first thing she did was take a hot shower. The warm water felt amazing on her skin.

...

In the parking lot, William watched as Elon placed Thalia in the car, even closing the door for her and tapping the car to signal Isla to drive.

As Elon turned around, William noticed the bloodstains on his clothes.

Elon's white shirt was wet from carrying Thalia, but the key detail was the red mark on his waist.

Elon didn't shy away, giving William a slight smile: "Mr. Brown, do you have a grudge against Ms. Smith?"

"Throwing a woman on her period into a pool is disgraceful. If you don't like Ms. Smith, just say so. No need to hurt her."

"Mr. Wilson, what position are you in to lecture me?"

"I'm not lecturing. I just don't want any incidents at the Wilson family event," Elon said, nodding politely to William. "Excuse me."

...

The next morning, Thalia got into the van, and Isla picked up Layla on the way to the set.

In the backseat, Thalia tried to catch up on sleep, while Isla instructed Layla: "When Thalia wakes up, make sure she takes the painkillers."

"What's wrong with her?" Layla asked, surprised.

"Her period started."

"Doesn't she usually have no issues with it?"

Thalia was one of those people who seemed to have endless energy. No matter how late she worked, she'd be full of life the next day.

Since when did she have period pain?

"Mr. Brown threw her into the pool last night."

Layla: ... Is he crazy?

The bumpy road woke Thalia up. The highway to the film set was under construction, full of speed bumps.

Thalia rubbed her sleepy face and sat up. Layla handed her a box of milk: "Drink this, then take the painkillers."

A miserable Thalia was unusually obedient, not in the mood to curse.

She curled up on the seat like a bird with clipped wings.

"Feeling bad?"

"Yeah," Thalia replied weakly.

"Why did William throw you into the pool?"

"He's lost it..."
