Chapter 506 Healthy Love Is Certainly Important, but Abnormal Love Is Truly Exciting
"I thought those two would've left early when the ship docked!"
"Who?" someone asked curiously, following the other person's gaze.
Well, Bella and Sean were coming downstairs arm in arm, looking as lovey-dovey as could be.
Everyone watched, feeling a complicated mix of emotions.
"Did you hear? When these two first got together, it was quite a scene. Apparently, they were caught in bed together, and the Jimenez family forced them to get married to save face. The whole thing was exactly like last night, just with a different leading lady."
"No wonder he can put up with so much!"
"Looking at that Bella, she seems so fragile—it's not surprising she can endure it. If this happened to Ms. Smith, she'd probably deal with the other woman without mercy."
"That's why they say a woman's family is her confidence, right?"
"Pitiful people must have something hateful about them. Why feel sorry for her?"
The restaurant was crowded and buzzing with chatter. Eileen was there too, and hearing everyone gossiping back and forth, her face looked terrible.
But having learned her lesson from last night, she didn't dare take a risk. Emerald City wasn't Regal City, and those classless rich kids didn't care about her status back in Regal City. If things got heated, it wouldn't do them any good.
Young people these days have no shame.
Amara saw Bella coming down and nudged Thalia, signaling her to look.
Thalia turned to look and saw the two of them coming down properly dressed. Bella had changed into a black and white dress. From a distance, they looked like a perfect couple, and their clothes even seemed to be deliberately matching couple outfits.
"Take it easy. I feel like a sneaky guy like Sean wouldn't stay on the ship after what happened last night unless he has a backup plan," Amara reminded Thalia.
The latter nodded. "I noticed."
"Last night's incident happened late, and Steven and Eileen weren't there. Now that they know about it during the day, they're probably furious."
Listening to Amara, Thalia slowly pulled her gaze away from the two of them. "There's a nice private perfume shop in Aurora City. I'll take you there later."
Amara was a bit surprised at Thalia's words. "You still dare to get off the ship? Aren't you afraid they'll take the chance to get back at you?"
"If I don't get off the ship, they won't get back at me? Rather than giving them a chance when I'm unprepared, I'd rather actively create an opportunity for them."
Hearing what Thalia said, Amara suddenly realized where the difference between people lies. The last time she heard this was three years ago from William. One day, she encountered a rival at work who had better tactics and schemes than her, which might cost her a promotion.
Combined with her casual personality and lack of vigilance, she felt a bit down.
One day at home, she mentioned this, and William said exactly the same thing as Thalia—rather than letting the other person scheme against her unprepared, she should actively create opportunities for them.
Sure enough, one move won it all.
Thalia and William were the same type of people.
"Chase!"
Just as Thalia got off the ship and was about to get into the car, she saw Chase standing at the dock smoking, with a young, beautiful girl not far away on the phone.
Chase was invited too?
Why didn't William tell her?
If Chase were here, how could she have resisted coming out to watch the fun in last night's situation?
"Got a new girlfriend? It's only been a few days! One a day? Can you keep up physically?"
"I was just about to go to a nearby hospital to check on irregular periods. Want to come with me to get your kidney function checked?"
Chase said unhappily, "You really can't say anything nice."
"We're all like this."
As soon as Thalia finished speaking, she saw the girl finish her call and come back, looking at Chase sweetly. "Chase, I have to go back, or my teacher won't let me pass the exam."
"A student? Which school? What major? Let me see if I can call your teacher or something."
"Don't..."
"Really? Economics at Westbridge University."
Before Chase could finish his attempt to stop her, the young girl blurted it out without any guard. A college student still in school was definitely no match for Thalia.
Amara couldn't help but laugh.
Thalia added, "Miss, do you know he has a wife and kids? The kid's like ten years old."
The girl asked Chase, "Didn't you tell me you were divorced?"
"The divorce happened, but I didn't leave home. In wealthy families, there's something called a strategic divorce to avoid risks. Know what that means?" Thalia glanced at him, her eyes full of mockery.
She made a tsk sound and left with Amara in the car.
The car hadn't gone far when Amara saw someone following them. "Chase is following us."
"Let him follow."
The taxi stopped in front of the perfume shop. Thalia got out first, and Chase came in right after. The three entered one after another. The shop wasn't big—the owner was a foreigner who had settled here years ago with his wife and made a living making perfumes. The whole shop could be seen at a glance.
"Aren't you going to get your period checked?"
"Yeah! When I'm in a good mood, my period naturally regulates itself, and spending money makes me happy."
Chase's face went pale. "Are you and William really together?"
"Based on my understanding of William, someone like him wouldn't care whether you live or die unless he had some connection to you."
"What? Is the company going under? Got nothing better to do than worry about other people?"
Chase watched Thalia standing at the counter selecting perfumes, and laughed lazily. "Healthy relationships are important, sure, but twisted relationships are really exciting. I just want to see you and that psycho William struggling in the deep waters of love."
"Tell me, will you destroy him, or will he destroy you? A guy like William—scheming, petty, cunning, and ruthless. And you're no saint either—devious and vengeful. When you two collide, isn't that like Earth hitting Mars, both ending up destroyed?"
Just as Chase finished speaking, a black pickup truck crashed into the small shop, heading straight for the counter.
Luckily, Chase was standing sideways. Catching sight of the truck in his peripheral vision, he grabbed Thalia and Amara, and all three tumbled awkwardly onto a freezer nearby.
