Chapter 458 William Secretly Meets Girlfriend, Suspected New Romance Exposed
"What are you doing? Let the police handle this. What you're doing is illegal." Sophia dropped the fruit she was holding and tried to pull the two women apart, but one of them grabbed her hair and slammed her against the bed.
"Illegal? Wasn't it illegal for her to hit someone with her car?"
"Sophia..."
Seeing this, Selene was so frightened that she didn't even notice the pain in her hand. She yanked the IV needle out of the back of her hand, scrambled up from the floor, and tried to separate the two women.
"Leave her out of this. She has nothing to do with it."
"You've got some nerve!" Someone slapped Selene, knocking her to the ground. The furious woman immediately spotted the fruit knife on the floor and, without thinking, grabbed it and lunged at Selene with it. "I'll cripple one of your legs too."
Seeing this, Sophia's heart lurched. She reached out and gripped the blade with her bare hand, gripping it tightly.
"What are you doing?" Zephyr asked as he entered the room after speaking with the doctor. When he saw the chaos and the blood, he panicked instantly.
He rushed forward and kicked the attacker away.
Both women collapsed to the ground one after the other.
Selene didn't even notice that the IV site on the back of her hand was bleeding. She practically crawled over to Sophia to check if she was okay. "Are you okay?"
"Doctor! Doctor! Hurry!"
The hospital room was in total chaos.
Zephyr had been arranging to transfer Selene to another hospital, but he never expected something like this to happen right before the move.
...
"Mr. Peterson, those two women were family members of the injured person. The doctor said the injured person needs to have their leg amputated. The family was very emotional, and when they found out Ms. Peterson was hospitalized here, they came here looking for her."
After assessing the situation, the police stepped outside to speak with them. The nurse had just finished treating both women's injuries.
"One thing is one thing. They have to face the consequences." Zephyr was furious. He flung his coat onto the sofa and began pacing the room, his hands braced on his hips.
The officers exchanged uneasy glances. Seeing this, Zephyr's voice suddenly rose. "What?"
"After all, they are the victims. It's understandable that they're emotional. Ms. Peterson's case hasn't been resolved yet. If we pursue this matter now, it may not work in your favor."
Hearing this, Phaedra tugged at Zephyr's sleeve. "The officer has a point."
Zephyr looked at Sophia hesitantly. "It would be one thing if they had only hurt Selene, but they also hurt an innocent person."
Sophia immediately understood what he meant. "Mr. Peterson, I'm fine."
It was clear Zephyr didn't want to pursue the matter any further. He likely knew it wouldn't work in their favor, since Selene had hit someone with her car.
"Let me call your father and ask what he thinks." Zephyr didn't want to make things bigger, but he still needed to save face.
He hadn't wanted Selene to have much contact with Sophia before, but today's incident made him see her in a different light.
Phaedra stepped out of the hospital room and closed the door behind her. When she saw Zephyr take out his phone, she grabbed his arm and led him aside. "You usually have your complaints about Sophia, but I think she's actually a good girl."
"If this happened to anyone else, they would have put their own safety first."
Zephyr's expression softened slightly, and he gave a quiet hum of agreement.
To prevent another incident like this, Zephyr transferred Selene to another hospital that same afternoon.

"Aren't you worried about being photographed if I take your private jet to Regal City?"
Early that morning, Thalia was packing her clothes. When she saw William organizing his luggage as well, she couldn't help asking.
"You can still buy a ticket if you'd prefer."
"No way. My husband has a private jet—why would I buy a ticket?"
"If I don't enjoy this treatment now, what if later..."
Before Thalia could finish her speaking, William tossed a white shirt into his suitcase and looked at her coldly, waiting for her to finish.
"What if you go bankrupt someday? Then I won't be able to fly on it even if I wanted to."
Thalia thought to herself that it was a good thing she reacted quickly. If she'd been any slower, William might have strangled her.
At noon, William's private jet landed at Regal City airport. Thalia, wearing a hat and mask, got off the plane. Since she had slept the entire flight, she was still a bit groggy. She stumbled as she stepped off the jetway and almost fell, but William caught her just in time.
Thalia had just woken up and was a little irritable. She wrapped her arms around William's neck and whimpered softly, completely forgetting they were in public.
Nearby, a bodyguard noticed camera flashes going off repeatedly.
He stepped in front of them to block the way, his tone serious. "Mr. Brown."
William, half-holding the drowsy Thalia, frowned slightly and gave a nearly imperceptible shake of his head.
The bodyguard was about to say something more, but Finn shot him a sharp look and pulled him a few steps aside.
He said in a low voice, "Do you have no sense at all?"
"Mr. Brown can't wait to make the relationship public, and you still dare to block him?"
The bodyguard replied, "But if Mrs. Brown finds out Mr. Brown did it on purpose, won't he face serious consequences?"
"As long as he achieves his goal, he doesn't care about the consequences."
Thalia was half-asleep, half-awake. William's tone was unusually gentle as his hand slowly rubbed her lower back. "What's wrong?"
The airport announcement sounded just as William spoke gently to her. The person who hadn't fully woken up suddenly became alert, looking up at William with some surprise.
She pushed him away and quickly pulled her baseball cap lower over her face. "Nothing."
"Stay away from me." After saying that, Thalia hurried ahead, putting some distance between herself and William.
As the man turned around, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He glanced at the reporter a short distance ahead, who was secretly taking photos with a camera.
The reporter's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly put away the camera and ducked into the restroom.
"Finn."
"Don't overdo it."
"Understood."
As soon as he finished speaking, Finn led his men to the men's restroom.
Kian checked the time and thought the timing was about right. Thinking they had already left, he planned to sneak out and follow them to see where they were going.
But as soon as he stepped out of the restroom, someone grabbed him.
"What do you want!" The man looked at Finn in panic.
Finn gave a faint smile. "What do you think?"
After saying that, he grabbed the man's shoulder, shoved him into a stall, and locked the door.
Before leaving, he hung an "under maintenance" sign on the door, dusted off his hands, and walked away.
........
"You went to Regal City with William?"
"How did you know?" Thalia had just arrived at the hotel and set down her luggage. She'd kicked off her shoes and was about to collapse on the sofa, but hadn't gotten the chance yet.
On the other end of the call, Evelyn was eating takeout while watching financial news.
"It's all over the financial gossip news—this is pretty big!"
"Thalia, you and William just made the news—and it's breaking news. Want me to read it to you?"
"William's secret meeting with a girlfriend—suspected new romance exposed."
"Impossible. I just got here, and someone already photographed me?" Thalia refused to believe it. "Who would dare take photos of William?"
Evelyn added, "Have you considered that William might have done it on purpose?"
