Chapter 450 Filming a Kissing Scene Today?
The smell of coffee permeated the Celestia Group conference room. . William sat in the main seat, Steven in the guest seat, and Brian was making coffee nearby.
William leaned back in his chair, looking at him with a calm gaze, showing no intention of speaking first.
Steven's eyes kept falling on Brian, with a scrutinizing look and hesitation.
"Mr. Brown,"
"Please." Brian poured coffee and placed it in front of them. Just when Steven thought he would leave, Brian showed no sign of going anywhere.
"Brian, aren't you busy?"
Brian understood what he meant. In this room, he only took orders from William. If William didn't tell him to leave, whatever Steven said was pointless.
"My job is to serve our distinguished guests well," Brian said respectfully.
It was polite enough, but to Steven, this politeness seemed more like being difficult.
Steven's face darkened. He picked up his coffee cup and swirled it, half warning, half reminding. "Mr. Brown and I have matters to discuss. Could you step out?"
"Well..." Brian lowered his head, his eyes sweeping across the table. "I'm afraid that wouldn't be appropriate."
If William didn't speak up, everything others said was pointless. If he listened to them, he wouldn't know who the boss was anymore.
Steven looked at Brian with an unpleasant expression. "Know your place, Brian."
Seeing this, William picked up his cup and gently blew on the steam, a curve at the corner of his eye, his whole presence carrying a subtle dominance. "Since when can you come to my place and order my people around?"
Steven's face paled. Looking at William, his fingers gripping the coffee cup tightened.
"Who's the outsider here?"
William's tone carried a light laugh. "What do you think?"
"A grandfather who appeared out of nowhere versus a special assistant who's been with me for years - even a child could tell which matters more! Mr. Jimenez, if you're getting senile, should I find you a doctor?"
"Mr. Brown, you have a meeting at ten-thirty." Brian reminded him at the right moment.
The message was clear - if Steven kept being coy, he'd lose his chance to speak.
Who was William?
He could tear your dignity to shreds bit by bit and toss it in the trash without batting an eye.
With him, it was only about who he chose to give face to.
Steven didn't say more and handed over an invitation. "November 10th, the Carter family and the Mitchell family's wedding will be held in Regal City. This is the invitation."
William showed no intention of taking the invitation. Instead, he glanced down at it and said, "Get to the point."
"I hope you can meet with your mother."
"And then?"
Brian listened from the side, clearly thinking William was already being polite. If it were anyone else being this wishy-washy, they'd have been kicked out long ago.
"Persuade her to let go of the Jimenez family."
A flash of mockery crossed William's eyes. Without saying much, he signaled Brian to put away the invitation.
"Show him out."
Once business was done, there was no need to stay. He never had much patience for the Jimenezes.
"You..."
Steven wanted to say more, but William got up and left.
The man left the sitting room and entered his office, noticing that his office chair, which usually faced the door, had been turned around. These days, there was only one person who could so brazenly enter his office and dare to sit in his seat.
Who else but Thalia?
"Shouldn't you be on set at this hour?"
"How did you know it was me?" Thalia had wanted to scare him, but it turned out to be completely pointless.
William took off his jacket and casually tossed it on the sofa, walked around the desk to the chair, his slender fingers resting on the back as he turned it around to face him.
The man bent down slightly, looking at her. "Who else would be this bold?"
"This is what you call bold?"
"Isn't it?"
Thalia leaned lazily against the chair back. Hearing William's words, she got interested and reached out to grab the tie around his neck. Their breaths mingled as Thalia spoke softly, word by word. "If this is what you call bold, then what about when you kiss me without my permission?"
"Hmm?"
Up close, William caught the faint scent of mint from Thalia's lips and teeth, and answered indirectly. "Did you film a kissing scene today?"
Thalia's expression froze for a moment, her grip on William's tie loosening a bit. After a moment, feeling she was being too timid, she straightened up and shot back. "Changing the subject, William!"
William mimicked Thalia's gesture, lifting her chin. "Changing the subject, Thalia."
"If I remember correctly, I asked first." Thalia wasn't satisfied with just pulling William's tie anymore - she hooked her hands around his neck and pulled him closer.
"You tell me..."
"Mr. Jimenez, this isn't proper..."
"Mr. Jimenez..."
Before Thalia could finish, Brian's voice rang out at the door.
William quickly pulled Thalia's hands from his neck, stood up straight, and with his strong arms turned the office chair around to face away from the door. The man placed one hand on the chair back, the other in his pocket, his bearing commanding, giving off an imposing presence.
"Mr. Brown, Mr. Jimenez insists on seeing you."
Brian watched as Steven pushed open the door, his expression becoming somewhat complicated.
William's eyes lowered, his thin lips pressed tight, looking at Steven. "What is it?"
"For this Carter family and Mitchell family wedding, you need to attend as part of the Jimenez family."
Thalia curled up in William's large chair, making herself as small as possible to avoid being seen by Steven.
She listened carefully to their conversation.
"So?" William asked back.
"If we're not on the same page about your identity, it'll cause unnecessary trouble."
William removed his hand from the chair back, opened a drawer and pulled out a cigarette pack, lit a cigarette, then tossed the lighter onto the desk with a click. "Mr. Jimenez, you're old, so I can understand why you talk so much nonsense, but I don't have time to listen to it."
"Show him out," William said to Brian.
Then he added, "If you can't handle such a small matter, you can get lost with him too."
"Yes." Brian nodded and bowed as he pulled Steven's arm to leave, closing the door behind them.
As they left the office, Steven was fuming, cursing all the way from William's office to the elevator.
Angelina happened to be coming up from downstairs. Hearing this, she didn't need to think to know who he was cursing about.
"What kind of trash is allowed in here?"
Steven's face darkened. "Who are you talking about?"
"Whoever responds, that's who. Some people, at their age, still haven't figured things out. They think they're so great, without realizing they're trampled under others' feet and can only breathe because others allow it."
