Chapter 403 Thalia Can Still Deal with Sean

Chapter 403 Thalia Can Still Deal with Sean

"Mr. Jimenez, it didn't work out."

"Didn't work out?" Sean's voice shot up unnaturally when he heard this.

He glanced at his colleagues in the office, then walked out to the hallway with his phone. "What do you mean?"

"The people around Ms. Smith are extremely alert. They showed up less than five minutes after the fire started. We had absolutely no chance to make a move."

They learned a lesson today. Thalia was only gone to the bathroom for ten minutes, and her people came looking for her right on the dot at ten minutes.

That level of vigilance, most people can't pull that off.

"Find another way. We absolutely cannot let Michael have too much contact with her."

"We understand."

"Don't just say you understand. Do it." Sean said, hanging up.

He'd figured early on that Thalia would be tough to deal with. After all, she came from a wealthy family, was the richest person around, and had probably been taught about safety since childhood.

Her bodyguards were definitely specially trained.

He just hadn't expected that when this theory was proven right, he'd feel strangely unable to accept it.

Michael was better than him in both talent and ability, even if he didn't want to admit it, he knew this fact couldn't be changed. His only bit of luck was being born a few years before Michael, getting most of the family's attention. After the whole family had spent considerable energy on him, Michael came along.

Getting them to cultivate another one was clearly beyond their capacity, so naturally, he became the one everyone in the Jimenez family paid attention to. If Michael had no ambition and just wanted to live a peaceful life, Sean could be a good older brother, but no.

Michael clearly wasn't content with that kind of life, otherwise he wouldn't be opposing him at every turn.

The situation in Regal City was set, the Jimenez family had already paved the way for Sean. No matter what moves Michael made, he couldn't stir up any real trouble. But Emerald City was different.

Emerald City was an economic trade zone, holding top-tier weight in the nation's financial circles. If Michael's connections there developed, his network might end up even stronger than the one in Regal City. Of all people, why did he have to go after Thalia?

"Mr. Michael Jimenez, Mr. Sean Jimenez's people are still in Emerald City. They apparently went to Ms. Smith's film set today."

"Looking for Thalia? What for?" Something flashed through Michael's mind. Sean wasn't exactly overflowing with morals - he'd learned everything from Eileen. Him going after Thalia probably meant nothing good.

Sean might even play dirty.

Inexplicably, Michael felt his chest tighten.

Thalia could handle Eileen, but against a ruthless and persistent lunatic like Sean, she might not stand a chance.

"Apparently, not long after his people went in, the building the crew had rented caught fire. The fire department went in and said it was an electrical fire."

"Going after Thalia?"

"I think so. Every time you get close to someone, something happens to them. Isn't that all Mr. Sean Jimenez's doing? A few days ago, when you were being hunted, Ms. Smith didn't end up saving you, but she did think about it. I'm worried Mr. Sean Jimenez wants to eliminate future problems, so he went after Ms. Smith."

"It's just that the people around Ms. Smith are very alert and didn't let him succeed. Otherwise, in a building like that - old and run-down, a demolition project, almost no fire safety, and the nearby water sources nearly all shut down because of the planned demolition - if the fire had really gotten big, it would've been hard to get out." Henry analyzed.

Michael nodded. It did sound like something Sean would do.

"I'm going out for a bit."

At Aurora Tower, Raymond was drinking at the bar, flirting with a beautiful woman, when someone suddenly tapped his shoulder. The woman looked behind him.

She clicked her tongue. "Your friends are all attractive. Do you have a girlfriend? Want me to introduce you to someone?"

Michael heard this and smiled slightly. "Miss, give us a moment. I need to talk to Raymond."

"Are you two gay? I've been touching you forever, and you haven't reacted at all," the woman said, looking at Raymond suspiciously.

She'd been sitting in front of Raymond all evening, flirting with him and touching him, and the man hadn't reacted at all.

When Michael showed up, she immediately sensed something was off. In places like this, these things were common.

Gay men were nothing unusual.

"If I'm not reacting, it just means you're not good at it. Instead of thinking about how to improve your skills, you're questioning whether I'm a man?" Raymond shot back.

"If something goes wrong, look at yourself first before blaming others."

"You........"

"Miss, please leave," Michael said at the right moment.

Hearing the two men tag-teaming her, the woman rolled her eyes. "You two are disgusting."

Raymond shrugged at this, not caring.

"Michael, you're looking for me - what's up?"

Michael didn't rush to answer, instead handing over his phone.

Raymond looked at it, seeing surveillance footage and photos, somewhat confused. "So?"

Michael replied, "To pay you back for driving me home last time."

"Who do you want me to give this stuff to?"

"Thalia."

Raymond thought, 'Is he crazy? Messing with her? She's ruthless when she's angry.'

"Sean sent people after Thalia. She escaped, but Sean is sneaky and cunning - he won't leave any evidence behind. So I'm guessing Thalia has no idea right now who tried to kill her. If you deliver this to her, you'll have Thalia owing you a favor."

"Consider it me repaying you for saving my life last time."

Raymond took a sip of his drink and laughed. "Getting Thalia to owe me a favor - of course I'm willing. But why don't you do this good deed yourself?"

Michael didn't answer. Raymond said mockingly, "Oh, let me guess."

"Given your relationship with Sean, even if you brought this stuff to Thalia right now, she wouldn't believe you. Even if she did believe it, the first thing she'd think is that you two are fighting each other, but dragging her into it. Knowing Thalia's personality, she'd definitely try to take you out first, then go after Sean."

"You're just trying to keep your hands clean and watch the show, pulling Thalia in to break up your situation with Sean. So you're choosing to let me deliver this favor. You pay back my favor, keep yourself out of trouble, and let Thalia deal with Sean. Three birds with one stone, Michael."
