Chapter 33 William Grabs Thalia's Waist While Sitting at the Back Bar
"Who?"
"William!" Daniel called out from the doorway of the private room on the eighteenth floor, having just seen the police off. He stood there, arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe, staring at Thalia.
"Still drawing a blank, Ms. Smith?" Daniel's smug look made Thalia's anger flare up.
He actually reported her for solicitation?
If the police had taken her away, tomorrow's headlines would have been sensational.
Fuming, Thalia grabbed her bag and stormed out. Daniel moved aside to give her space.
"Thalia's pissed."
"Mind your own business," Evelyn glared at the gloating Daniel.
Daniel shrugged indifferently. "Wanna watch the show?"
"Mr. Wilson, go tell your dad to try for another kid if he can. Looks like you're already a lost cause."
"You—"
"Move," Evelyn pushed past Daniel.
Golden Valley.
William had just gotten home when someone started banging on the door.
Thalia was so furious she was about to kick it down.
"Trespassing is illegal," William said, one hand on the doorknob, the other blocking the doorway to keep Thalia out.
Thalia's anger was palpable. "If I'm not afraid of soliciting you, why would I be afraid of trespassing?"
She shoved past William into the house.
"Really, Mr. Brown? You seem like a decent person, but your actions are despicable."
"Compared to you, Ms. Smith, I'm still a bit behind," William's implication was clear: Thalia wasn't any better.
They're all the same.
"What do you gain from reporting me for solicitation?"
William walked over to the bar and poured himself a glass of water, casually replying, "Peace and quiet."
"You think sending me to jail will give you peace and quiet? Mr. Brown, you underestimate me. Even if you die or I die, I'll dig you up from the grave."
William: ......
"Thalia, how about I find you a hospital to get your head checked?"
"Sure! And I'll find you a urologist to check your functionality."
William: ...... He always knew Thalia's mind worked in leaps, but he didn't expect this.
"You may have no shame, but I do."
"Your reproductive organ is just for show! Haven't you ever doubted its functionality?"
Thalia's sharp tongue was notorious in Emerald City. Backed by Hayden, she feared nothing and had insulted most of the city's elite offspring.
No wonder she had so many enemies.
Most people in Emerald City were waiting, hoping for Hayden's downfall.
William finished half his glass of water, looking at Thalia standing in front of him, his deep eyes glinting with an unreadable light.
A pale yellow sweater paired with white wide-leg pants, her long hair loosely braided and draped over her back.
She was stunningly elegant and lazy.
She certainly had the allure to drive men crazy.
William tapped the rim of his glass. "Thalia, for someone who plays men like you do, you're quite the failure."
"Failure is the prelude to success, just like I'll eventually become the mother of your child."
Thalia dusted off her nails and walked over, pressing down on William's hand on the bar. Her lazy eyes hooked his soul as she leaned in, her tone seductive. "Mr. Brown, really not considering it?"
"Considering what?"
"Making our relationship more... intimate."
William's gaze dropped to Thalia's barely visible cleavage. She had a knack for wearing outfits that teased just enough.
Perfect for tempting any man who got close.
"And then cut off my reproductive organ?"
Thalia: ...William sure knew how to hold a grudge.
Thalia tried to explain, "How could I? I'd love it too much to hurt it..."
William's hand gripped Thalia's chin, pulling her face close, his lips sealing hers. He pressed her slender waist against the bar behind them, their lips and teeth entwined...
Thalia reached up, pulling off his tie, her fingers stripping off William's suit.
She pulled out his shirttail, her fingers tracing his abs upward.
Breaths mingled, William gripped Thalia's waist, lifting her onto the bar behind them.
Just as he was about to proceed, his hand on Thalia's backside paused...
He lifted his hand to see... blood.
Thalia, lost in the moment, noticed him stop and kicked William, pulling on his collar.
"Can't a girl catch a break?"
"Thalia..." William's voice was hoarse.
"Speak..."
"You're on your period."
Thalia's nails scratched red marks on his neck, thinking this heartless man must be tormenting her on purpose. "What? Are you even capable?"
William pushed her shoulders back, opening his palm in front of Thalia.
Thalia: ... She almost had him!
Almost touched William's eight-pack abs...
Is the universe against her?
Thalia, frustrated, slapped William's neck.
William touched his slapped neck, glaring at Thalia with a fierce look. "If it weren't for your period, I'd definitely hit you back."
Thalia: ...
...
Thalia lay on William's apartment sofa, a blanket over her, bleeding heavily.
She vented to Evelyn on the phone about what just happened.
Evelyn: "What! That timely?"
Thalia: "I'm furious!"
Evelyn: "What now? Fight through it? William's probably clean, low risk of disease."
Thalia: "You're so evil..."
Evelyn: "Look in the mirror and say that again? I know what you're thinking."
The apartment door opened.
William walked in with a bag of sanitary pads.
"Why'd you buy so many?"
"Didn't know which brand you used, so I got a variety."
Thalia: ... "The store clerk must've praised you for being so considerate to your girlfriend, right?"
William's lips twitched. "How'd you know?"
"You poor sap, store clerks love guys like you."
William glared at her, displeased, like a kid who did a good deed only to be scolded.
Thalia realized she misspoke, awkwardly rubbing her nose. "Got any pants I can wear?"
"Sleep pants?"
"That'll do..."
Ten minutes later, Thalia cleaned herself up in the bathroom, tossing her dirty pants into the apartment's washing machine.
Opening the door, she saw William in the kitchen chopping vegetables.
Seeing this elegant, domestic side of William made her momentarily dazed. Was this the same man who had just been pinning her down on the bar, so forceful and wild?
