Chapter 32 On Skills, Mr. Brown Can't Compare to the Student from the Sports Institute...
"The tracker in Chase's car, you might need it."
Thalia's eyes darkened as she scanned the screen.
She looked up at Elizabeth: "You know it's illegal, right?"
"You didn't install it, so what's the big deal?"
"If the cops find out, it'll be between me and Chase. You're in the clear."
Elizabeth thought about handling it herself, but the entertainment world was too messy; she could easily get tangled up in someone else's drama.
Her safest bet was Thalia.
If that woman had the baby, wouldn't her son's inheritance be split?
Thalia shook her head: "If Chase's mom had half your cunning, I wouldn't be here."
Elizabeth chuckled: "You're no angel either."
"What do you want?"
Thalia took her time, making Elizabeth uneasy.
She picked up her cup and took a sip of coffee: "Not much."
"I'm not interested in Chase's whereabouts, but killing someone has consequences."
Elizabeth's face darkened; clearly, her offer wasn't good enough.
"Just tell me what you want."
Thalia tapped her cup, studying Elizabeth: "I need evidence of Chase's crimes. Can you get that?"
Elizabeth hesitated.
Chase was still her son's father.
Evidence of crimes?
If Chase went down, her son would be affected.
This was the opposite of what she wanted from Thalia.
Thalia's smile deepened, confirming her suspicion—people trade what they don't care about.
But the reverse? Not so much.
Thalia smiled faintly: "Think it over. I'm not in a rush."
With that, Thalia signaled for the check.
She wasn't wasting more time on Elizabeth.
......
"Can you sigh somewhere else?"
Thalia had left the café, unsure where to go, and ended up at Evelyn's place.
Evelyn ran an international modeling agency, surrounded by beautiful people every day, living a life Thalia could only dream of.
Thalia envied her, feeling her own life was full of misfortune.
"I'm stressed."
"What about?"
"I'm stressed 'cause I can't get a man, can't get a man, and still can't get a man."
Evelyn rolled her eyes: "William?"
"Who else?" Thalia snapped.
Evelyn was speechless: "Calling you an idiot is being nice. With someone as cunning as William, you'd probably forget your own name if he decided to screw you over."
"Calling you dumb is an understatement," Thalia shot back, leaning on Evelyn's office chair.
"In all of Emerald City, William's the best option for me. He's a legal powerhouse; if he helps me, I can dodge a lot of trouble. That's one. Two, with my dad in his current state, there are plenty of wealthy families eyeing us. Do you know how many suitors I can fend off with William by my side?"
Rumors in Emerald City said William was ruthless.
As long as she claimed to be his woman, any rich playboy would think twice before approaching her.
Evelyn: ...That actually makes sense.
"Forget it, don't be upset. I've invited some people over."
"What people?"
"College athletes..."
Thalia's eyes lit up at those words.
In Aurora Tower, Evelyn had booked a luxurious suite on the 18th floor and brought in a dozen young men.
Someone in Aurora Tower was whispering about Evelyn being a sugar mama.
"Sugar mama? Really?" Daniel, who knew all the wealthy folks in Emerald City, was intrigued.
"Mr. Wilson, Mr. Brown, we were just talking about how a sugar mama brought in a dozen young guys."
"I've never seen anything like that at Aurora Tower."
Aurora Tower was a reputable place, a playground for the rich, with no shady dealings. But if guests wanted to entertain themselves legally, no one would interfere.
They'd seen all sorts of wild things, but this was a first.
"Really? Which suite?"
Daniel was curious. Who in Emerald City could be so bold?
In the surveillance room, as soon as the video was turned on, Daniel's words caught in his throat.
"Isn't that Evelyn and Thalia? And William."
Daniel's exclamation drew everyone's attention to William. Recently, rumors were flying about the romance between a pure-hearted celebrity and a legal big shot. There were dozens of versions of the story online, whether true or not.
But now, the supposed pure-hearted celebrity was in a suite, surrounded by young men, clearly having a great time.
In the suite, Thalia felt like she was in heaven. Dealing with William had made her doubt her charm.
Now, hearing these athletic men call her beautiful, she felt her spirit soar.
"This is the happiness I deserve for all my good deeds."
"Absolutely," Evelyn chimed in, hanging onto Thalia's neck, almost floating with joy.
In the surveillance room, William closed his eyes tightly.
That morning, Thalia had been teasing him in bed, and now she was out cuddling with other men.
Good deeds in a past life? This was her deserved happiness?
William recalled Thalia's words: "In terms of skill, Mr. Brown can't compare to these athletes..."
So she had quite the experience?
"Call the cops. Report prostitution."
"What?" Everyone was shocked.
William's cold gaze swept the room: "Do I need to repeat myself?"
"No, no," they stammered. William was indeed ruthless.
What were they thinking?
Ten minutes later...
The suite door was kicked open, startling Thalia and Evelyn.
A police officer stood at the door, scanning the room before his eyes settled on Thalia.
"We received a report of prostitution here."
"Did we?" Evelyn challenged.
"Whether you did or not, we'll need to investigate. Please come with us."
Evelyn, experienced in such matters, replied, "No need to come with you. You can check the surveillance from the moment we arrived."
"We checked. The cameras are broken."
Thalia: ...Great, will she be trending tomorrow for soliciting?
The headline "Pure-hearted celebrity caught soliciting" flashed before her eyes...
In the surveillance room, Daniel coughed nervously: "Isn't this a bit much? If this hits the news, how will Thalia survive in the entertainment industry?"
Realizing something, Daniel added: "Why do you care how Thalia plays? You don't have feelings for her, do you?"
