Chapter 185 Ms. Mitchell, Don't Frame Me
Thalia looked at Walter, shook her hand, and glanced around: "You're really something! Pushing my limits again and again."
"Thalia," Walter was slapped in public and was so angry he gritted his teeth, wishing he could tear her apart.
"What? You have the guts to do bad things using my name, but not the guts to face the consequences? Is this all Mr. Wood's got?"
"Manager, listen carefully. Whatever Walter spent here has nothing to do with me. If you dare to charge his expenses to my account, don't blame me for what happens next."
"Everyone here, listen up too. Whatever Walter does has nothing to do with me."
As soon as Thalia's warning words landed, the guy who had been fighting with Walter wiped the blood from his lip: "I knew it! How could Thalia possibly get back together with you? Turns out you've been shamelessly spreading rumors using Thalia's name. You've got a pregnant woman at home but you're out here every day using your ex-girlfriend's name to show off and scam free food and drinks. Do you even belong in a place like this? Walter, if you and Thalia had broken up peacefully, everyone could still hang out with you. But you cheated, got someone else pregnant, and won't take responsibility for the woman at home. Your behavior is textbook scumbag material."
Walter was provoked by the man's words and grabbed his collar, pulling him close: "Is it your place to talk?"
The other guy laughed mockingly and slowly pulled Walter's hand away: "Do you even qualify to be in a place like this?"
"Mr. Wood doesn't know, does he? To get into this bar, you need to pass an asset verification. Do you qualify? A net worth of one hundred million US dollars—does the Wood family even have that anymore?"
"Stop pretending to be rich. Everyone knows the Wood family is just a bottom-tier family in Emerald City. You only opened the door to a new world by latching onto Thalia. You say Aria brought along a bunch of poor relatives, but aren't you exactly the same in Thalia's eyes?" There were many rich people in Emerald City, but among the wealthy, very few would transfer one hundred million dollars in cash into their kids' bank accounts for them to spend freely.
Even if the Wood family had money, Wesley would never throw money around for them in a place like this.
Getting a bit of family trust fund money each month to maintain their lifestyle was already a blessing.
"Manager, shouldn't you collect the money while he's still here? You're not really planning to charge Thalia's card, are you?" Evelyn said from the side.
"Right."
"Mr. Wood, please don't leave. You've spent quite a bit here recently. Let me pull up the bill right away."
Hearing the manager say this, a flash of panic crossed Walter's eyes.
The drinks here were famously expensive. He might not be able to afford them.
Seeing Walter's evasive look, Thalia jokingly asked: "Can't Mr. Wood afford it? Did your standard of living drop dramatically after breaking up with me?"
Nicholas thought, Thalia is really ruthless, combining hard and soft tactics.
Stabbing Walter with no way to fight back.
So brutal!
The onlookers didn't dare to speak. Suddenly, a rushed laugh came from the railing upstairs: "You were lovers after all. Won't Ms. Smith give him even this much face? If Mr. Wood can't pay, you pay!"
"Everyone in Emerald City knows Ms. Smith is rich, right?"
Thalia looked toward the sound and clicked her tongue: "I was wondering who it was! Isn't this Ms. Mitchell?"
"That barking came so suddenly, I had to see who it was to know which dog it belonged to. What, did the Mitchell family let you off your leash?"
Elowen's lazy attitude of watching the show was stung by Thalia's mocking words. Her fingertips on the railing tightened slightly and curled up: "If I'm a dog, then what is Ms. Smith? After all, we do have some blood relation, right? Are you being that casual about it?"
"The origin of species goes back thousands of years. I share blood relations with dinosaurs too. Don't try to claim kinship with me, Ms. Mitchell!"
Thalia had originally just wanted to deal with Walter and leave, but seeing Elowen, she had to stay and properly deal with her.
It really was a case of if I don't go to the mountain, the mountain comes to me. How was this any different from Elowen delivering herself to the door?
"Do you even qualify? A woman like you dares to compare yourself to me? The Mitchell family didn't even think much of my dad back then, so what are you?"
If there was anyone in the whole place who looked down on Thalia the most, it was only Elowen.
The more others tried to please Thalia, the more she wanted to step on her. When she saw anyone from the Smith family, she wanted to bite them.
"I don't qualify! I'm glad I don't," Thalia readily admitted: "If I did qualify, wouldn't I also be randomly pulled out to marry some guy who doesn't love me?"
"Spending every day thinking about where to go eliminate my fiancé's scandal girlfriend, how pitiful!"
Evelyn couldn't hold back and laughed out loud, looking at Elowen standing on the second floor, following Thalia's words: "Ms. Mitchell, this is the first time I've seen someone rushing to embarrass themselves?"
Hearing Evelyn's words, the bar instantly filled with laughter.
Elowen looked at Thalia sitting on the bar stool, her face ugly.
.........
"Just say what you want to say."
In William's office, Angelina was replying to messages on her phone while repeatedly glancing at William.
Angelina sat up straight: "Tonight's business dinner?"
"You go."
"Where are you going? To the film studio to accompany your wife?"
William made a sound of agreement.
"I don't think you need to accompany your wife today."
William's gaze moved away from the pile of documents. Angelina handed over her phone.
In the group chat, Nicholas had sent a video, which showed the scene of Thalia dealing with Walter.
"You have so little status at home, yet you're still thinking about going all that way every day to be intimate with your wife!"
"Are you that free?" William was brief and to the point.
Angelina shook her hand, signaling him to return her phone: "Not free, very busy."
Thalia and Evelyn had just left the club when she received a call from William.
"Where are you?"
"On my way to get food."
"Address," William's tone was stiff.
Thalia casually ran her fingers through her hair: "No need to send an address. I'll just grab something to eat and head back to Maple Grove Villas."
After Thalia hung up, Evelyn stopped at a red light: "Mr. Brown keeps pretty close tabs on you!"
"Of course, he finally married me. What if I ran away?"
Evelyn, being single, felt oddly stung by Thalia's words. "So should I just take you straight back to Maple Grove Villas?"
"Let's eat first. I'm hungry."
