Chapter 13 Thirteen
Chapter 13
Tessa's POV
Most of the staff started leaving the building once it was 5 pm. It was closing time.
After sending the files to Damien's email, I breathed a sigh of relief. My first day wasn't that bad, it was, in fact, better than I expected even though I worked late into the night.
With Damien promising to stay out of my way, I suppose I should be okay, but unfortunately, my body had a different mind of its own.
Merely seeing Damien, got me aroused and already wet. My denied orgasm yesterday was still affecting me.
I just needed to get off. The tension was curling in my stomach and fucking needed Damien to loosen it.
Grabbing my bag, I stood up and straightened my skirt. I was not sure that Damien would need me for anything else. I glanced at his office door, it was closed.
Going in there didn't sound like a good idea, so I turned around and walked out of the building.
It was just 7 pm and people still moved about. I was low on cash, so I decided to just cover the distance to Anna's apartment on foot.
“Tessa? Tess” I turned around almost immediately. I'd recognize that voice anywhere, the question was: What's he fucking doing here?
Luke took two steps forward, his hands dipped into his pockets.
“You… Work here now?” He asked, staring at the building. I gave no reply. He was the main reason why I'm in this shit right now.
He was the fucking cause of all this.
“I told you I never wanted to see you again,” I muttered, turning around to leave, but he was fast to grab my hand.
“Tessa, please just…" I snatched my hand out of his grip. “Just hear me out, please” He muttered, and I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
What rubbish did he have to spew this time? Or did he come to remind me how it was my fault that he fucked his secretary?
My insides recoiled at the thought of it.
“I'm sorry, Tessa. I didn't mean for what happened…"
“Save your apology” I bit out, becoming slowly agitated. Did he seriously think I needed his apology? What's done is done.
He took a step forward, his face red. I had no idea if it was from embarrassment or the fact that he was truly sorry, not like I cared anyway.
“Tessa, it was a mistake I swear, I was just carried away for a moment” He continued and I laughed bitterly. Carried away, huh?
“All the late-night meetings with your 'Secretary' don't look like carried away to me” He nodded, turning redder by the minute. What the fuck did I see in him in the first place?
“It's all my fault, and I'm sorry, I love you Tessa, but I…"
“Need help here?” A voice came from behind me. I didn't need to turn around to know who it was.
Damien.
Luke glared at him, and I did find his expression funny.
“Fuck off, dude” He shot out, but Damien gave no attention to him.
“You need help, Tessa?” He asked and for the umpteenth time that day, my body got roused almost immediately.
I glanced at him from over my shoulders. I can't do this right now.
“I just want to go home” I muttered, staring at Luke whose eyes were pleading and at the same time sinister.
“Tessa…" Luke started, reaching out for me, but Damien sidestepped him. I closed my eyes. It was too fucking early.
“You heard her. You need to leave” Damien said, his huge frame in front of me and I wanted nothing more than to climb his body and make myself comfortable there.
Luke was as red as tomatoes at this point, I could point out a few people who were watching.
“Who the fuck are you? I'm trying to talk to my girlfriend here” Luke snapped.
“Ex” I butted in. I wouldn't want Damien to have thoughts of me being a cheat and a deceiver. No fucking way.
“This is my premises, and I'd advise you to leave,” Damien's voice was calm, it was just like the sea getting ready for a storm.
Luke's eyes widened, and his eyes darted from me to Damien. He'd placed one and two together.
“This is the guy?” He asked me, as his eyes roamed Damien's body. How red could a man get?
“This is the fucking guy who you cheated on me with? You're fucking your boss?” His voice was loud, too loud, that I wished the ground would open up and swallow me.
A muscle ticked in Damien's jaw. He was losing his patience, I could see it.
“Get out” I muttered, my voice a low command. He blinked at me, clearly taken aback.
“Security!” Damien hollered and a few uniformed men came rushing immediately. Luke looked around, embarrassed.
“You either leave on your own or they'd walk you out,” He said, and Luke glared at me.
“We still have to talk,” He said as he turned around and left, shrugging off the hand of one of the securities who touched him.
I stared at the direction Luke had gone, before dropping my eyes to the floor. Some people stared at me and Damien who still stood in front of me, his whole body rigid.
“I'm going, uh, home” I mumbled, taking a step back.
“Get in the car” Damien's voice made me stop in my tracks.
His SUV was somewhere around, but I didn't want him riding me home. Not to Anna's apartment.
“I'm good…" I waved it off.
“Get in the fucking car, Tessa!” He hollered and for a minute, everywhere quietened. We got the attention of everyone around us, right now.
With a huff, I turned around and marched to the garage where I spotted his car. He followed me behind.
He unlocked the car, pulling open the passenger door for me. I glared at him before sitting inside. He slammed the door closed, and turned around entering the driver's side.
God help me.
