Victoria’s POV
An intense pain battled against my chest, I let out a cry of sob my eyes brimming with tears, my heart sank when I recalled what I saw, they kissed. A tear slips out of my eyes landing on the screen, I watch him smile with another woman beside him.
Is this why he left? He told me he has some important meeting, is this the reason he lied to me. I try to push my tears that were threatening to fall but I could not ignore the pain that erupted in my chest. It hurt badly, I didn’t feel like this when Dalton cheated on me, I felt worse. I could not breathe.
I hear someone call my name, it was a faint voice. I tried to focus on it but I couldn’t. Something is drawing me back, I blinked my eyes a couple of times trying to see clearly all I could see was blurry, it was covered with my tears.
“Vic.” I hear the faint voice calling me again, my body felt numb. I could not breathe. “Vic are you there?.” The voice asks.
I try to find my voice, I wanted to reply but couldn’t, I choked back on a sob and a cry of pain escapes my lips, I felt my knee land on a cold floor before darkness consumed me.
Dean’s POV
She is not meant to see that, fuck I was supposed to make caution of that but I messed up, she is not supposed to see him share that kiss with another woman. When I recalled forgetting her phone in the kitchen, I thought she would be asleep but she wasn’t, she sat there with tear brimming down her cheek, she was having a panic attack.
She stopped breathing for a minute, I tried calling her name a few times but it was to no avail, she didn’t hear me. Her mind focused on what she saw.
“Is she going to be alright?.” I asked the doctor, who I called immediately she fainted.
“She just needs to rest, she had a panic attack. If she wakes up with a pounding headache give this to her.” The doctor says handing over a piece of paper. I quickly take a picture and send it to one of the guards.
It’s going to get here before she wakes up, I glanced back at a sleeping Victoria before I closed the door. I haven’t told Kelvin about this, he will be back anytime soon.
He left the city last night immediately after his meetings, I didn’t want him to be worried while traveling back here.
He is going to kill you. My subconscious says.
I wish she would just listen to his side of the story, Kelvin had no choice but to kiss another woman. He had to take their attention away from her, the moment they find out she is his mate her life would be in danger. They will do anything to destroy her life.
I let out a breath walking downstairs to wait for Kelvin, it took about an hour more before I heard the bell ring.
Fuck he is here. I need to calm down he won’t kill me. The elevator door opens and he walks out with Linda beside him. Linda is going to save me, he won’t unleash all his anger while she is here and by the time he calms down she would leave.
“Where is Victoria?.” He asks.
“Linda, welcome how was your flight?.” I smiled. She raises her eyes brows in confusion, I have never once spoken to Linda. I never felt the need to do it and unlike the rest I am the most friendly. I spoke to people more than they could ever do in their life.
“It was good- Linda was just leaving.” Kelvin gritted through his teeth. He knows something is wrong, he hasn’t fully connected with his mate if not he would have felt her pain last night. He hasn’t linked their minds together, link her mind with ours because she is a member of the pack.
“I made breakfast, I insist she stays.” I lie, she looked confused before she could disagree politely I walk toward her taking her hand to guide her toward the kitchen.
“Can we talk now?.” Kelvin asks and I nod.
“Linda help yourself I will be right back.” I smile.
He lead me into the living room, I glanced at Linda from behind who is looking for something to eat.
“What did you do?.”
“I’m offended, what makes you think I did something.”
“Victoria is not here, I know she would be the first person to want to see me and again you don’t care about Linda yet you made her stay.”
“Promise you won’t get mad.”
“Too late.”
Fuck.
“She saw the video last night, I had no idea she wakes go late for have a snack so technically it’s your fault you should have told me.”
“Dean- fine I’m sorry, she saw your video, she has a panic attack.” I say interrupting him.
“Where is she?.”
“She is upstairs.”
“She better be fine or I will kill you.”
“She is going to kill you if you do that.” I yell while he walking up the stairs.
He didn’t seem as angry as I expected him to be, she has changed him. I can still remember the first time I met Kelvin, I never thought I would have a brother, one that could care enough to save me from the demons of the place I once called a home. We didn’t speak much, we weren’t as close as brothers should be but we cared about each other that is enough.
“Dean.” I hear a voice.
Fuck I forgot about Linda.
“How about I order a breakfast sandwich.” I smile.
“I think I will be leaving, I have places to me and Kelvin has a meeting.”
“Cancel it.”
I know he won’t be going anywhere until Victoria is fine, even if she forgives him he will still be stuck with her.
“I will let you know when he would be ready to have the meeting.” I smile.
