Kelvin’s POV
I hate leaving her behind but it’s if her own good, I walked into my private jet, Linda will be coming with me on this trip. I couldn’t cancel it, it would jeopardize my work. I have to deal with the French, it’s my first time having a business with them given I want to expand my work to their country.
“They have arrived and are waiting for your arrival Mr. Ricci.” She says and I smile.
We were having the meeting in another state in New York, I know they would be glad to have me as a new investor but fuck I hope I don’t mess this up, I am already annoyed and knowing he is watching my every move I have to give him what he wants.
There is a party I will be attending, I have date for it. I need to Gaia her, I hate to do that to Victoria but it’s just for media purposes. I know the bastard watches the news and he knows my every move, that will take his attention off Victoria for a while.
The flight took a good one hour before we arrived. I managed to finish some work on the plane, Linda on the other hand briefed me on the situation of the meeting. I have thirty minute to get ready before the meeting starts. I took a quick shower, I sent a quick text to Victoria letting her know I am here.
I have everything planned out with Dean, he won’t allow her watch the news until I get back, and he would have her phone to prevent her from watching anything, I wish I explained this to her before leaving but I didn’t want her to be sad. She should know that woman means nothing to me, I barely even know her name.
I got out of the shower and got dressed. There is a tray of sandwiches on the center table, I glanced at the time. Maybe I should have a snack, I need time to think.
My mind was clouded by past events, how much this man has hurt me and my family, how much he has hurt Richard. All six of us he left us with no family so when it came about running away it wasn’t hard to. We know we are not leaving any loved one behind.
I walked out of my room.
“Are they ready Linda.” I asked and she nodded.
The meeting took about two hours. It was unbearable, at some point I knew I wasn’t paying much attention, one of the the French men tried to be smart with me but Linda stopped him.
I can’t have another murder on my hand right now.
“Get my date ready to be meet, thirty minutes before the time.” I say and she nods.
I need a woman that is smart and not those blondes plastics that want nothing but to throw themselves on me, it’s annoying as it is. I just want someone that will understand the plan, I will pay her as much a she needs.
Tomorrow morning, she will join me for breakfast for media purposes and then we will have lunch together before I leave for home. A vibration from my phone brought me out of my trance.
I glanced at the caller. It’s my princess.
“What are you doing awake by this time princess.”
“I just want to hear your voice.”
I smile when she says that.
“I missed you so much princess. The meeting was boring, I have a party I have to be with.”
“You are going with Linda.” She asks in a sleepy voice.
“Yes love.” I lie, it was not a complete lie. I am going with Linda.
I spoke to my love for some more time before she hanged up to sleep, I hear a knock on my door. She is here.
She looked perfect for the job, I quickly explain to her. I don’t need someone asking me the reason I am doing this and fuck she didn’t. She is professional. Richard did a great job finding her.
Who throws a party past midnight, for fucks sake. I should be asleep by this time or better yet doing something more fucking productive.
The reporters were everywhere, when the car door open they hovered over us, I ripped off the bandage as Dean says. I kissed her in front of everyone.
I walked into the lady who’s hand is wrapped around mine. A lot do questions came from the reporter while we were coming in. They asked a lot about Victoria and as usual they covered it up concluding she is just one of my flings. I hated the thought of that.
“Don’t speak to anyone until I say so.” I say to her and she nods.
We were greeted by many associates, Linda got us a glass of wine. I need something stronger to get me through it. I went to bar when I saw a familiar face.
I can’t deal with this right now.
“Dalton.” I gritted through my teeth.
“I knew you ditch her eventually. I saw that kiss outside.” He smiles.
“Still part of daddy’s inheritance.” I asked.
I know how pissed off his father is regarding my withdrawal.
“I will make you regret what you did.”
“I won’t be making threats if I were you, I hope you know I can bring your father to the streets.” I smile before leaving.
Victoria’s POV
After the call with Kelvin, I got hungry for some ice cream. I was taking the ice cream when I noticed a phone on the counter, Dean took mine after Kelvin left, he said the phone could be traced. I can live without a phone, as long as I have a way to speak to my father and I have Netflix, i good to go.
A smile appeared on my face when I took the phone, it is mine. I scrolled through social media. There is a lot of notifications. I pressed on the first one and Kelvin came in view. He is with another woman.
The spoon dropped off my hand when I watched him kiss another woman.
