A growl

Kelvin’s POV

A growl, I could recognize a werwolf growl from anywhere. I wasn’t familiar with this one so I knew it can’t be someone from my pack, fuck do they have more people. I know I killed the rest of them, the bastard we kidnapped told us about their hideout, he must have lied because there are more, we are supposed to be the only pack here in new York I made sure of that, every wolf had their territory and this is mine, no one is allowed here without permission.

“What is that?.”

“A wild animal, we have to leave.” I hold her hand tightly guiding her to the car when I felt a presence behind us. I did what I I had to do, I snapped her neck making her unconscious, she can’t witness what is going to happen next.

I can’t let her know there are wolfs in the world, it is beautiful when it’s fairytale but once they find out we are real they do the worst, they don’t want us anymore because they feel threatened by our presence. I swirled around to be met by a familiar face.

Jackson.

“What are you doing here?.”

“I escaped, I left.”

“How many of you are here, this is my territory.” I gritted through my teeth.

“I know but it doesn’t matter, there are more unwanted wolfs here than you can count.”

“I can have them killed.”

“Please, it’s just me and my friends. We left our packs, I can’t stay there knowing they are going to treat us like that.” He begged.

Jackson is one of my old friends, when I was leaving home. I didn’t want to let him know solely because I know how much Jackson loved his mother and he won’t be going anywhere without her by his side.

“And your mom.” I ask.

“She was killed.” He whispers, he didn’t have to say much because I knew who did it.

“How many of you?.”

“Just the three of us, I may have seen his men lurking around.”

“I dealt with them, you don’t have to worry about that. How did he find me.”

“Given you are the face of the city, it wasn’t hard but he is trying to find the others. He wants to punish you for leaving.”

“I can’t let him find me, how can I trust you?.”

“He killed my mother, you don’t think I will support him after what she did.” Jackson yelled.

Maybe he is right but I can’t deal with this right now; I have to think, tomorrow is the full moon and if he knows where I am he will come for me, I know he won’t want me to find my mate,

“What else do you know?.”

“He found his mate, he rejected her because she is an omega.”

Omega is the lowest rank of werewolf. A human could be more stronger than an omega.

“Fuck just help me, I will tell you everything.”

I haven’t gone back home in years, I wanted to know if my family is still alive.

I glanced at the unconscious Victoria on my hand before I looked back at him.

“I will get someone to help you.”

I sent an emergency text to Richard, he knows what to do. I won’t let anyone find them,

“Bring those men and wait for me beside the alley, I will come back.

I laid my princess on the couch and drove away, he already saw her. I just hope he won’t think she is important to me, I know I am known for being a player and that reputation will keep her from the eyes of everyone. They will just see her a toy just like the rest.

We got back home, I am going to have to explain to her why I snapped her neck and what happened.

I laid her on the bed, my lips linger more on her forehead before I leave, I have to discuss somethings with Dean and Andrew, Seth, Richard and Sebastian would deal with this.

I never expected someone would run away, I thought they cared so much and worshipped him but it’s not the case. I just hope I won’t regret bringing in Jackson, I won’t trust him right away, every eye would be on his move waiting for him to mess up.

“He knew where I was? He has been watching us. It can’t be a fucking coincidence.” I gritted through my teeth.

“It’s not, we would make him think we have let him in. All eyes are on him.”

“They can’t find us, we worked so hard.” Andrew says and I nod.

I would never let them come for us.

“Richard will be the only one that makes direct contact with him, I will meet up with him tomorrow. I need to know how many of them are lurking around.”

“He wants us back, fuck he is not going to stop until we come back.” Dean says.

“We won’t.” I whisper.

I won’t let it happen, first he sends a rival pack to come for us and now Jackson. I just hoped Jackson is not a part of this for his sake. I always had a soft spot for him, I saw him as my brother, I would hate to get him killed.

After we discussed the situation, I know I can’t let Victoria leave the house without security. I’m going to protect her with all my life, I would be damned if anything happens to my angel.

“They will just think she is one of your whores living with you.”

I didn’t like the way he referred to her as a whore but I know he didn’t mean that.

A small smile begins to crack on my face when her face flashes through my memories.

“Just focus on the full moon tomorrow.” Dean says and I nod.

The full moon, the day I will find out if she is my mate.
