Victoria’s POV
The dress is worth it, I looked amazing when I wore it. I wore it with the necklace Kelvin got me from the gala and I wore a watching shoe that I had, I didn’t want to carry a clutch so I just held my phone in my hand. I have been getting updates from dad.
His treatment is going good, doctor Owen says he will soon be cancer free. I should not be worried. I’m happy dad would soon be out of the hospital, I have enough money to rent him an apartment, if I keep working for a couple of months I will be able to get him a car. I just want him to happy. He deserves it after everything he went through.
When he got diagnosed with the illness, I put the house on mortgage so I will be able to get money to pay for his bills, the money got shorted I couldn’t pay back with my jobs so the bank took the house, I wish I could get it back maybe I can one day.
A smile crept through my face when I walked out of the room.
“You look beautiful.” Andrew says and I smile. "It was worth the theft."
The four of them have being good to them; they are like the brothers I never had.
“You think he will like it.”
“Kelvin is going to lose his mind when he sees you.” Seth says and I smile.
I take his hand while he leads me downstairs, I don’t miss the way Kelvin looked at it, his mouth was wide open when he saw me.
“Told you so.” Seth whispers and I smile.
He hands me over to Kelvin, it felt like I just walked down the aisle, it won’t be bad to marry Kelvin.
What are you talking about, my subconscious says.
Just a thought, I replied.
I smile at the man that held my hand, he won’t tell me where we are going but I know I am going to love it, Kelvin will be driving us tonight.
The drive was short, it is a restaurant as I expected but there are no people here.
“I had it rented out just for us.”
“Why?.”
“Because I may not wait till we get back home to fuck you.”
The thought having sex in a glass restaurant where anyone can pass and see us, fuck that thought sent a wave of sensation through my body.
“Kelvin-“
“Don’t say it’s too much, you deserve everything princess.” He says and I smile.
He walks me to the door and like a gentleman, he opened the door for me. I love the music that played in the background, it was jazz music and when I took my seat I felt his hand on my thigh.
“I want to get to know you Kelvin; not what the media has to say about you, the real you.”
“Are you ready for that princess?.”
“Tell me about your family.”
“We don’t; I have a parents and two sisters. I haven’t seen them in years and we have not spoken.”
“Why?.”
“Curious are we?” He asks and I smile.
“It’s complicated, I don’t consider them family anymore. You have the ones I consider family.”
“Tell me about yours.”
“You already know-“
“Just say it.” He says and I smile.
“Mom cheated, I don’t know where she is while dad got sick because of her. It’s just about that.”
“Do you want to find her?.”
“I do, I want to ask her why she left when we were a perfect family. Why she never came for me, I want to her is she regrets doing this.”
Deep down I wanted her to apologize, I wanted her to beg for our forgiveness, I want her to regret her actions.
“I can help- Kelvin.” I interrupt. “I can’t ask that of you.”
“If it will make you feel better then I want to do it.”
“Are you sure.” I ask and he nods.
I don’t know how dad is going to react when he sees mother; I don’t even know it I will be able to muster the courage to speak to her when Kelvin finds her, I will just have to wait.
I noticed how Kelvin would shrugged off any conversation that had to do with his past, he didn’t want to talk about it.
“That day you didn’t have any meeting, you lied to Linda. Why?.” I ask.
“What day?.”
“The day I started working for you.”
“Keeping tabs on me Miss. Sanchez.”
“I won’t say so.” I smile. “I am just curious.”
“I had something personal to take care of.” He says and I nod.
I know if I had asked about it, he won’t give me a straight answer. I will wait until he is ready to let me know about his past.
I know one day he will trust me enough to tell me about his life, after all I just want to know who is here.
I enjoyed the rest of the dinner hearing stories from Kelvin, it is mostly when he came to New York and built his empire, anything before that I knew nothing neither did the internet, but I am going to find out.
“And for dessert.”
“I will have you.” Kelvin says and I roll my eyes.
“I want something that has chocolate.”
“Like a cake or ice cream.”
I wanted both, it was like he could read my mind because he prefer both, after we finished we left. I suggested it would be good if we have a small walk giving the way we both ate.
“You are just postponing sex.”
“We do that all the time.”
“Are you complaining?.” He asks raising his eyebrows.
“No I’m not, I just want us to be in the moment.” I smile at him.
We continue to walk, I notice as dark alley, some thing about this place felt unusual. I hear a growl.
