Chapter 72

Chapter 72
Alyssia

“Okay little mouse, end of the line. Time to go.”

Go? Go where?

My eyes soon darting from where the man stood near the van’s side exit door. His body huge. His body built like a tank. His body definitely bigger than Zac’s. My mind soon racing with hundreds if not thousands of different ways of me trying to run.

One of them actually involving me running. But then my mind remembers the chase and how long it took for them to catch me. My body no longer built for long distances so long as I carried our child. My hand soon cupping my belly. My stomach now beginning to show the longer the baby continued to grow.

Even as the man began growing impatient and decides on pulling me out. His massive hand quick in grabbing my leg in which I then use to kick. My foot swift in hitting his face in when he grunts and stumbles back. The force of my kick just hard enough to buy me some time. Time in which I take before instantly running. A piece of me now deciding that if I was going to go down fighting, that this was going to be it. My body now running in the direction of trees. Trees being the first thing I noticed when running for my life.

My legs still pushing me as hard as they can, yet, before I’m able to hit the tree line does a big, firm hand then grab me around the waist before hauling me into the air.

“Hey! No. Stop. Let me go.”

“Sorry little mouse. No can do,” says the voice of a man in who I still didn’t know. The man now pulling me back. My eyes wide.

“Please,” I beg. “Please let me go. I promise I won’t tell a soul. And all you have to do is let me and my child leave here unharmed.”

The man suddenly silent. Almost like weighing my words. A sigh quick to rise. “I wish I could little mouse. But somebody paid good money in having you gone. Removed. Child and all.”

At the mention of that do my eyes suddenly widen. My mind now trying to process.

“By.. By who?” I ask, my chest suddenly tight. Fear rising slowly within me.

“Sorry. Personal information. Not at liberty to say,” is all he says to me, as I’m then carried into what looked like an old, abandoned building, yet wasn’t. The inside nice. Too nice. Like somebody made sure to take really good care of it.

Even when carting me off in the direction of a room. A room that’s currently furnished with a bed and nothing more. The man soon plopping me down. “Alright little mouse… stay here and be good. And if you do, I swear nothing bad will happen to you.”

My eyes then narrowing upon hearing his words. “Then prove it. How do I know that I can trust you.”

“You can’t,” smirks the guy. His eyes serious. “You’ll just have to take my word for it, that’s all.”

And then, with that said, does he then turn and leave. The door soon shut and completely locked as I’m now forced to wait on somebody else to help save me. Least of all find me. My body now huddled upon the bed. My knees drawn. My arms wrapped gently around them. My thoughts back to Zac.

“Please Zac… find us,” is all I manage to whisper, as I continued to huddle within the room.

Zac

It’s now been a few short hours since returning back to Sam’s. Sam’s place a bit closer than mine, yet, more importantly, so was Sam’s computer. Sam’s home office full of high end security tech. The best I ever knew. So it didn’t surprise me when Sam gave Annabel a tracker who then managed to place it upon Alyssia.

Sam currently at his desk. Working. Fingers still flying across keys as he continued on narrowing down Alyssia’s exact location. The need to get her back more important than ever. Mia returning a few seconds later after taking a quick shower. Mia now dressed in fresh clothes since her last set was ruined by blood. Mia soon looking to me. “Any luck yet?” she asks.

“No. But I trust Sam to find her. It’s why he’s number one within his company. Because if Sam can’t do it, then nobody can, and that says a lot then,” I say, because it’s true.

Mia just nodding. The three of us forced to wait.

Sam soon pausing. His hands suddenly still. His eyes now locked upon the screen. His silence more than enough to draw my gaze back over to him. My voice firm. “Sam?”

Sam still silent. “Sam?” I try again. My voice soon finally reaching him. His gaze now back to mine.

“Found her. But you aren’t going to like the news though,” says Sam, who sounds almost a bit hesitantly.

“What news?” I ask, wanting to know.

“She’s located just south of here. Out near the old, abandoned packaging plant.”

“You mean… the one’s that were once bought by Russian hitmen?” I ask. The packaging plants once big within our city until somebody privately bought them. Now, they sit empty. Yet rumor was, that the Russian’s bought them out in order to do shady deals without suspicion of others.

“Looks like it. Though, the only thing I can’t understand is why kidnap a pregnant girl. Who hires them just to do that? Because as far as I know, Alyssia isn’t tied up with Russian affairs is she?”

Sam’s question one of genuine concern. And one I’m fully concerned about as well. Yet, regardless of how it looked, a part of me knew she wasn’t. Alyssia too innocent. Too sweet. Too submissive. Thus, there’s no way she would’ve gotten mixed up with that.

Yet, the longer I stood there thinking of it, the longer I began thinking of Hendricks and Lane. Of Alyssia’s mother. Each of them showing clear signs of intention towards her including Brian. My voice quick to speak.

“No. Alyssia wouldn’t do shady deals with any sort of hitman. Let alone Russian. But I can’t say the same thing about Hendricks or Lane. Or that punk ass boyfriend, well, ex-boyfriend from trying. Even her mother might have connections. So who knows.”

Sam quick to nod. “So what’s the plan then?”

“Plan? We figure out who the fuck did it before we risk rushing in there. I don’t want anybody risking her life. But I do want answers.”

Sam just nodding again. Sam already working on gathering data. My body soon back to pacing. My mind now back on Alyssia’s. Hold on baby. I promise to save you. Soon. Just hold on.
